Purchased A Mr. Right

Chapter 1300

Adam did it.

Anthea was sure of it when she took the first bite.

When they were together in the past, he would often cook for her. Though standing in front of the stove with an apron outside of his military uniform, he still looked very manly, like a general who was commanding thousands of troops.

Adam liked makng fried dumplings for her.

He cooked the quick-frozen dumplings and fried them in a flat pan.

It was an ordinary dish, but he made it incredibly delicious. She really liked it.

Afraid of being discovered by others, Anthea looked down at her dumplings, pretending that nothing usual had happened. She ate all the dumplings in the box.

Stars were twinkling in the dark, night sky.

The old chief was still in a coma and was lying peacefully in the bed behind the glass window of the ICU.

His wife was old, so she did not have the energy to stay here all night. At about nine o'clock in the evening, she went to rest in the hotel opposite with Amelie's help. Apart from the medical staff, there were soldiers taking shifts outside of the ward.

Late at night, the military hospital quieted down.

A steady sound of footsteps sounded in the corridor.

A pair of black military boots landed on the ground -Adam, all and strong, walked out of the elevator.

Seeing him, the guarding soldier immediately stood straight and saluted him.

But Adam did not look at him. Instead, he frowned deeply and looked at the person on the bench outside the ICU.

A small figure was curled up on it. Her shoes fell to the ground, and she was holding her bent legs with both hands, facing toward the ICU's glass wall.

Half of her face was on her arms, and her long, curling eyelashes cast two fan-shaped shadows on her face.

Adam's face darkened. "Why didn't she go back to rest?"

The soldier looked over and explained, "Dr. Lee said she had to stay here. The old chief has just had the operation and is in dangerous period tonight. If there are any bad reactions after the operation, she can handle it immediately!"

Adam listened attentively.

He placed his jacket in the car. Right now, he was only wearing a military shirt.

Adam then said, "Take off your coat."

"Huh? The guard was dumbfounded.

Adam looked serious and cold. No one dared to provoke him, who was known as the Hell-king in the army. So, the soldier quickly took off his military coat and handed it over with both hands. Then, the soldier saw Adam stride to the bench in front of him.

As he approached, he changed to light steps.

He was afraid of waking her up. He reached her and slowly sat next to her.

She would catch a cold if she fell asleep like this!

Adam raised her hand, carefully opened the large coat, and covered her with it.

Anthea was still sleeping soundly, breathing evenly.

She was exhausted!

Last night, Anthea had just been on the night shift and had hardly rested. After getting off work this morning, she received a call from her teacher, Vincent. She then rushed to this military hospital.

She was very careful about the old chief's case and did not dare to slack off in the slightest. After confirming the surgical operation plan, she kept on preparing for it. When she finally finished dealing with everything, she sat down and fell asleep fast.

As the coat covered her up, from her head to her feet, her eyelashes trembled slightly. She must feel the warmth.

The lights in the corridor were on, and her sleeping side face with long lashes was bathed in the light. She was like a quiet and delicate doll, and Adam felt an urge to touch her skin.

Adam stared at her intently, with deep affection in his eyes.

He lifted his hand to caress her cheeks.

Seeing that she showed no signs of waking up, Adam slowly leaned over and lowered to get close to her.

His Adam's apple moved slightly as his thin lips fell on hers.

After the light kiss, Adam could not help but open her teeth with his tongue.

His tongue entangled itself with hers as he began this ardent kiss.

His long kiss almost woke her up. Only when her chest heaved up and down did he reluctantly let go of her. He gently rubbed her mouth with his rough fingertips and withdrew them quickly for fear of breaking her rest.

Adam stared at her in silence for a long while before he got up and left.

His footsteps on the ground gradually faded away, and Anthea, who was supposed to be in a deep sleep, slowly opened her eyes.

Her big eyes were clear without any sign of drowsiness.

Actually, she woke up as early as when his tall shadow enveloped her...

Anthea quietly looked at his tall back, in a somewhat subdued mood.

Like him, she enjoyed the kiss.

Neither of them could bear to part with each other.

The sun set and rose again. The sun in the morning was bright and warm.

Amelie walked out of the elevator with a bunch of flowers in her arms and headed for the ICU.

She had barely slept last night and looked quite fatigued.

In the ICU, other than medical staff, nobody was allowed to go in and out. As Amelie looked into the ward through the glass and saw no one in the bed, she was immediately refreshed.

The old chief did not pass the dangerous period, didn't he?

The idea renewed the fire of hope in her originally depressed heart.

She asked the nurse who walked by excitedly, "Where is the patient in this ICU?"

The nurse replied, "The old chief? He's already awake and has been transferred to the ward this morning!"

"..." Her hope dashed to pieces.

She asked the number of the ward and walked over with a frown, still holding the bouquet.

It was just next to the ICU. Amelie knocked on the door and went in. As the nurse had told her, the old chief was awake and lay on the bed with his eyes open. Although he still looked very weak, he did not wear the oxygen mask anymore.

Several military doctors were standing around his bed, examining his vital signs.

His life indexes on the screen of the medical equipment were within the range of normal value. It seemed that he was okay now.

With a big smile on her face, Amelie walked to the old chief's wife and forced herself to say in a happy tone, "I just got the news that godfather has waked up. That's great!"

The old chief's wife was still wiping her tears.

But this time, she did not cry for fear of the death of her dear husband. Instead, she cried with joy for his recovery.

"Amelie, you're here!" The old chief nodded with a smile but she was staring at her husband on the hospital bed.

Amelie put the bouquet on the table and saw Adam standing by the window. She moved over and said softly, "Adam..."

Before she could say anything more, the door of the ward was pushed open.

Anthea came in from the outside. She had changed into pink sportswear. Although she had dark circles, her young face still looked bright and beautiful.

Amelie looked down at her hand.

She tossed and turned restlessly last night, and when she came out in a hurry, she forgot to apply any moisturizing cream to her hands. At this time, there were already some fine wrinkles appearing on the back of her hands. She could never be as fresh as Anthea, who was just in her twenties.

Amelie felt disturbed.

As soon as Anthea came in, the old lady walked

quickly toward her.

Anthea was about to nod to greet her when the lady suddenly knelt down before her without warning.

Anthea, overwhelmed by honor, hurriedly supported her. "Madam, please don't be like this..."
