Chapter 1231
The first aid measures?
Bellamy was stunned.
He could not help looking at the little girl in Adam's arms, surprised.
The doctor continued, "The kid had drunk a lot of salt water and was also given the emetic. All these have bought time for the rescue! The food poisoning can't be underestimated, and there is a high possibility that it will be critical to life!"
"Especially when the child is still so young and has a poor resistance, no one knows what might happen. If the treatment is not timely, his heart rate will probably slow down, and then the blood pressure will drop. The liver and kidney will fail, and then death will be caused! So this kid is very lucky today!"
Bellamy had a pensive look on his face as he nodded solemnly.
"I'll transfer him to the ward later. He is going to need to stay in hospital for the whole night under observation." The doctor said and then left.
Soon, the little boy was pushed out of the emergency room.
He had changed into a hospital gown already. His face was still pale, but he was not as painful as he was when he was sent here. With a needle in the back of his hand, he still looked very weak. Two nurses were pushing his bed to the ward.
Everyone gathered around him.
Hank held his son's hand tightly. Amelie also went forward. She wiped the wet hair on the little boy's forehead with a handkerchief and took his other hand.
At the banquet, the boy was very close to her at that time. He liked being held by her very much, so it was normal for her to take care of him now. However, the boy broke away from her surprisingly.
Then he looked at Anthea eagerly and stretched out his hand toward her.
"Me?" Anthea said in disbelief.
She hesitantly stepped forward and gently held the boy's hand. Seeing him smiling with ease, she pushed the bed to the ward together with the nurses. Meadow couldn't help laughing. "It seems that this child is very clever. He knows who saved his life!" He knows who saved his life!"
"Yes." Adam smiled, too.
While they were talking and laughing, Amelie was not pleased at all.
She felt extremely embarrassed.
She just regarded Anthea as a student who hasn't yet graduated and totally underestimated her!
In the high-level ward, the boy was settled in. He was still weak. He had just had gastric lavage, which was even unbearable for adults, let alone a child!
It was unknown when it was getting dark outside.
It was a shock but not a danger.
Seeing that the boy was safe, everyone felt relieved.
Now it was already more than nine o'clock in the night. The boy needed rest, so they did not stay longer so that he could recover health and get back on his feet as soon as possible. The boy kept holding Anthea's hand. He blinked at her, obviously thanking her very much.
Then he tilted his head and said to his father in German," Ich werde-sie-heiraten!"
Hank burst out laughing.
Amelie had an expression that was hard to describe. Bellamy and Meadow looked very calm. Adam's face turned slightly dark.
Anthea scratched her long hair with a blank face and smiled back.
After the boy fell asleep, they all said goodbye and left. Adam left the hospital with Anthea first.
Hank stopped Bellamy and said with a serious expression, "Mr. Chin, I'm sorry! My son has always been very naughty. He accidentally ate something and caused you trouble!
"And I just asked the doctor. It's all thanks to your son's girlfriend. She is smart and particularly brave. She saved my son's life. Otherwise, I don't know what kind of danger would have happened to him! Thank you very much!"
"Oh, that's okay!" Bellamy shook his head with a smile.
"No, no, I'm really grateful!" Hank stressed, "If it weren't for that beautiful lady, my son would have been dead. I don't know how I'm going to explain this to my family when I return to Country D if that had happened. You know, my wife might kill me!"
Amelie heard their conversation very clearly at the side.
Clenching her fingers, she felt alarmed.
Under Bellamy's support, her original purpose of attending today's banquet was to make Anthea lose face and let her know that she would never be a match for Adam, but the result was far beyond her expectation.
Not only did she fail to make Anthea retreat, but she had also put herself in an awkward situation.
Hank continued, "Mrs. Chin said that your son's girlfriend is still a student in medical school. She does have excellent medical skills. I believe that she will be a great doctor in the future! The most important thing is that she looks very young, but she stays very calm in an emergency. She and your son is really a good match!
"I have given my best wishes to them."
Hank had a very high evaluation of Anthea.
Hearing the undisguised appreciation and praise, Amelie could not help looking nervously at Bellamy.
"Yeah, right!" Bellamy just laughed faintly.
He didn't deny it. Instead, there was an ambiguous approval in his words. He no longer looked disdainful like before when he heard the name "Anthea", and there seemed to be even a hint of appreciation in his eyes.
What Amelie was most worried about had happened!
It seemed that what happened at the banquet today had changed Bellamy's original determination. Amelie's heart suddenly sank.
After coming out of the hospital building, Adam and Anthea walked to the parking lot, hand in hand. Anthea's footsteps were very light, as if she was going to fly in the next second. Her shadow was bouncing on the ground.
Adam chuckled. "You seem very happy!"
"Of course!" Anthea nodded and shook her big hand excitedly. "Adam, do you think I saved a life?"
In fact, she overrated what she had done a little bit.
It was the doctor who really saved the little boy's life. She just did some first aid measures!
But she still felt a great sense of accomplishment!
"Yes, I do." Adam answered with a smile.
Her happiness was simple and pure.
Her two small dimples could not be hidden as she gave Adam a wide smile.
Adam was infected by her and looked at her dotingly. "You did a great job."
It might sound a little fake if it was said by someone else.
But Adam was very serious as if he was also proud of her, which made her feel more complacent and strutted like a turkey cock.
Then, Anthea suddenly thought of something and asked, "Adam, what exactly did the boy say when we were in the ward just now?"
Adam's face darkened again.
"Nothing," he answered stiffly.
