Chapter Chapter312 I’m Being Reasonable?
“Miss Pola is a professional in child psychiatry? I think we should ask other psychiatrists for their advice as well.”
Hayden was unwilling to follow Pola’s advice because she didn’t think Pola would be reliable enough in her age.
“She will never harm Noah.” Joseph was a little awkward, “You should trust her about that.”
“Why? You’ve known her for a lone time?” His words bewildered Hayden. She lifted her eyes and looked at Joseph.
After the deliberation, Joseph said in a low voice, “I have something to tell you about her.”
Hayden was unnerved.
“What?”
Joseph paused for a while, “Pola is the biological mother of Noah.” After saying this, he looked into her eyes, trying to discover
all the changes in her look.
This was the same situation as what she had imagined when she met Pola. She had thought about this in her mind for numerous
times. But when Joseph really told her about that, she was still so dumbfounded that she felt like that hundreds of flies was
buzzing around her.
Seeing Hayden was silent, Joseph started to explain, “I haven’t told you before because I’m afraid you would misunderstand. I
didn’t ever think of I would meet her again when I pursued surrogacy back then. I happened to know what she was going through
which you’ve also known about just now.”
Hayden forced herself to respond, “You are saying her husband’s cancer?”
“Yes.” Joseph frowned, “I’ve asked Magnus to arrange for the better treatment. But it’s the terminal cancer. She doesn’t receive
my sponsorship either. She plans to study abroad a year later. But before that, she only hopes to meet Noah.”
Hayden took a deep breath, shuddering at this situation.
If it was a trap, the one who set the trap was planning this prudently. He managed to make Joseph feel sympathetic by making
up Pola’s miserable experience.
No men would turn down her requirement.
The surrogate mother of his son married to a guy who got the advanced gastric cancer which was unable to cure. She did not
want his money. All she wanted to do was to leave this city. And before that, she only wished to meet her son, who was the only
one related to her by blood.
“Did you agree?” Hayden asked.
Joseph was unable to understand Hayden’s feeling, “My confession is to avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding. Noah won’t
get in touch with Pola again.”
Hayden gazed at him, “In fact, you should tell me bluntly, what do you want me to do?”
Anger started to show in Joseph’s eyes. He was beginning to feel irritable, “I do not want you to do anything.”
His irritation also angered Hayden. She clenched her fists again, with her fingers growing grey.
“Yeah, you do not ask me to do anything, instead, you ask me not to take any action. You tell me to trust a woman
unconditionally who jumps out to say she is Noah’s mother. You even want Noah to spend some time with her? What you want
me to do is to support you and her for no reason, no matter what will happen.”
Joseph was puzzled by her abrupt anger.
“Stop it, you are being unreasonable about this.” He frowned, “Hayden, I’ve told you about the surrogacy. If you care so much
about this, then I’ve got nothing to say.”
Hayden wanted to sneered at him, “I’m being unreasonable? How do you verify her identity? Have you checked her
background? Is she really Noah’s mother?”
Joseph took a set expression on his face.
Hayden thought she might get to the point. But she lost her mind when Joseph showed her a picture of paternity test in his
phone.
“Magnus has taken Pola to have the paternity test. It can’t be wrong.”
Sure, the enemy would set the trap prudently. Although the test result was unbelievable to Hayden, it was the evidence that
would make Joseph trust Pola.
What could she do to make Joseph doubt the result?
If Noah wasn’t her son, Hayden herself would believe in the test as well.
Her face was pale.
“What’s wrong?” Joseph found she acted unusually.
“Nothing.”
Hayden looked at somewhere else to avoid eye contact with him, trying to assume an air of calm.
“In fact, the paternity test isn’t definitely accurate. You should think about it carefully. After all, Noah is also involved. Do not rush
to make a decision. There are plenty of professional psychiatrists, so I don’t think it’s necessary to entrust her.”
Joseph stared at her thoughtfully for a while and frowned, “You still care about Pola.”
Hayden dug her fingernails into her palm, but she did not even feel the pain. She looked into Joseph’s eyes, “Well, suit yourself.
But I think Pola is not that reliable, you can’t leave Noah to her randomly.”
“Where are you going?” Seeing Hayden was going to leave the box, Joseph asked her with a deep frown.
“I’m going home. Enjoy the dinner by yourself.”
Grabbing her coat, Hayden took a deep breath and went out without hesitation.
She knew it was understandable for Joseph to make such decision. In fact, that would be nice if Pola was Noah’s mother.
However, Hayden knew Pola was a liar. She could not calm down in this situation.
The city was shrouded in the darkness.
Hayden was walking on the pavement when her phone rang. She thought it might be Joseph, but it turned out to be Edison.
Then she answered it.
“What took you so long to answer the phone?” Edison asked gently.
Hayden kicked the stone absently, “I did not notice the phone. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Alayna told me something about Noah. How are you doing?”
Listening to this, Hayden was a bit nervous, “She’s such a big mouth. Can’t she keep a secret from you?”
“She cares about you and she can’t fly back to Nanking.”
“You shouldn’t come either,” Hayden interrupted him, “Everything is all right, and I can handle this by my own.”
“What about the lawyer?” Edison paused for a second, “He’s been waiting for you for almost half a month. Aren’t you going to
meet him?”
Speaking of the lawyer, Hayden frowned deeply and did not know how to reply.
She did not want to file a lawsuit and just wanted to keep her relationship with Joseph. But the situation caused her anxiety.
Contemplating for a moment, she felt blue and said, “I’ll go meet him tomorrow.”
“OK,” Edison still said in his gentle voice, making her calm down, “Hayden, remember, no matter what happens, I will always
support you.”
