Chapter 86 Forever Remorse and Regrets
Clarissa clenched into fists tightly. Antonio's every word was like a sharp sword to hurt her mercilessly.
"Adelaide, Adelaide!"
Clarissa murmured the name again and again. Every calling was full of her full hatred. She would definitely get back at Adelaide.
Antonio dared not go to the ward to see them. He originally wanted to tell Hanna what should be careful. But what happened just now made him too embarrassed to go in. After secretly watching inside at the door for a while, he felt so sleepy. Then he turned and left the ward.
Bruno drove steadily. Antonio felt like he had been asleep for a long time on the way from the hospital to home. He rubbed his sleepy eyes. He hadn't been home since the day of the accident. The slide for her child in the yard was just half done. Seeing it, Antonio pursed his lips. He felt sad, then he stepped forward to touch the steps of the slide, which was the light blue color chosen by Adelaide.
He choked with sobs. When he spoke, his voice was so hoarse, "Bruno, let the craftsman take it down tomorrow!"
It was not him who didn't want to take Adelaide home. The smell of disinfectant in the hospital made him feel sick. He was just worried that Adelaide's condition would get worse after she went home and saw these stuff. When Adelaide was dying, he suddenly realized that the only person he loved was her. If she died, he might not live either.
He finally understood his real feelings, but it was too late. He didn't know how to make it up to Adelaide. His mind was blank.
Like a coward going to death, he walked forward timidly. Bruno had already told Damla in advance that Antonio was coming back, so Damla opened the door early.
Antonio stopped again. He stopped at the door and dared not step inside.
"Mr. Antonio, what's the matter with you?" Seeing that he hadn't come in yet, Damla couldn't help asking.
"Nothing". He shook his head but he was still not moving forward.
"Antonio! Guess how many days left until the child is born?" It was that day when the accident happened. On that day afternoon, when he just returned home, Adelaide rushed to hug him and asked him happily.
He smiled bitterly. What did Adelaide tell him at that time? He couldn't remember it. He just remembered that he was perfunctory at that time and asked her not to count the days. Now, in just a few days, his son was gone!
"Damla, throw all the stuff Adelaide bought for the baby..." After a pause, Antonio said as if reminding of something, "Sort them out and take them to the orphanage."
He did not believe in God nor did he believe in fate before. Now he just wanted to pray God, hoping that he could do good for his son who died young.
Damla was stunned and hesitated, "Mr. Antonio, send so many good stuff to the orphanage?" She hoped that Antonio would let herself choose some good stuff and give away the rest which were not needed. Although she didn't tell Antonio what she thought, according to his cleverness, he would definitely understand her meaning.
"Yes, don't you understand what I said? Everything, including the slide outside. Baby's stuff can't appear in this house. If you can't do it, you can retire!"
Antonio thought that his words were very polite and he also took care of Damla's dignity. After all, it was related to Adelaide, so he had to be more cautious.
Damla widened her eyes in shock. Her forehead was full of wrinkles. After all, she had been working the Baron family for so many years. She knew Antonio's temper very thoroughly. Seeing him like this, Damla knew Antonio was serious. She dared not let Antonio give her those things, but just kept nodding.
After Antonio left, Damla cursed Adelaide secretly and hated Adelaide even more. If it wasn't for Adelaide's sudden miscarriage, there would always be a chance for her to move these things back to her home quietly.
Adelaide bought so many things. How could she remember each of them clearly? Even if she was caught by them, she could say that she accidentally brought the things home. It was impossible for Antonio to drive her out.
All the plans were ruined by that woman. These stuff she could have gotten was gone. Seeing Antonio like this now, she really did not dare to make some little tricks. Damla was very upset. While cleaning up, she scolded Adelaide silently.
As soon as Antonio went in the room, a breeze blew his face, mixed with Adelaide's light fragrance. He had never found that the smell made him so at ease. The soft quilt which Adelaide had used was filled with the smell of her shower gel on it. The smell was light, which was like her, making others comfortable and at ease.
He shook his head, not letting himself fall into endless memories. After going into the bathroom, he saw his razor in the most conspicuous place. The bright yellow post-it note stuck to the mirror. Several big words came into his view, "Antonio, it's time to shave! The razor is underneath. You can't kiss the baby tonight if you don't shave!" In the end, there was a bold down-arrow to point where the razor was. It seemed that Adelaide had prepared it for him before going out.
He tore off the post-it note and carefully tore off the glued part, then he put the rest silently into his pocket. He saw himself in the mirror. His face was full of fatigue. His beard had come out. His eyes looked sunken.
There was endless sadness in his eyes. He picked up the razor with his right hand to shave. Seeing himself a little lost, he couldn't help muttering, "Adelaide, look! The beard is shaved clean. Can we go back to that day? I will definitely not leave you alone!"
That day would be the regret and eternal pain all his life. The main reason for the child's induction of labor was Clarissa and the doctor. The doctor had resigned under Antonio's suppression. Clarissa was slowly accepting her due punishment. However, he didn't know how to deal with Oscar, who indirectly caused Adelaide's hurt. But he knew the person who he should take revenge on and hate most was himself! He knew it... He knew it. He could have stop it, but he didn't.
Antonio clenched his hand into a fist. The blue veins on his forehead bumped out because of his irresistible remorse and regret. Then he vented these emotions to the mirror with a fierce punch.
"Boom!"
As the mirror fragments fell, his hand was bleeding.
After venting the pressure, he let Damla clean up here. Then he took a quick shower. Lying in the bed where Adelaide fell asleep every night before, sniffing her fragrance on the pillow, Antonio quickly fell asleep.
Damla woke him up according the time he set. After a sleep, Antonio immediately felt full of energy. He simply took a few pieces of Adelaide's clothes from the closet. The clothes she put in the small corner was that she usually wore when she got pregnant. He took a deep breath and then asked Damla to throw away all the maternity clothes at home.
He deliberately threw away every stuff which would make Adelaide feel sad. He carefully checked the home inside and out several times to make sure there was omission. Then he went to the hospital to pick up Adelaide happily.
