Chapter 54 Coma
She gritted her teeth and didn't cry out for pain!
"Adelaide!"
Antonio held her in his arms, his eyes were full of shock and fear! He cover Adelaide's head with hands.
At that moment, a lead police siren sounded outside the door.
"Leas, the cops are coming!"
The lead clapped on his forehead again, "Son of bitch, let's go!"
The lead fled with his people in panic!
Hearing gunshots inside and seeing the police car coming, the staff did not know what happened. He stumbled back to the management room and opened the door.
Adelaide was lying in the arms of Antonio. His hands were covered with blood, dripping on the white petals. He shivered, without knowing what to do! "Adelaide, you can't sleep, don't close your eyes!"
Antonio's tears dropped on her face. The burning feeling made her open her eyes. In addition to a sweat on the forehead, her face was pale.
She coughed lightly. She was in pain, but she still forced a smile, "Antonio, you are crying. It must be an illusion! Are you all right?" Antonio's hand did not dare to move at all holding the bleeding wound. He did not expect the pregnant Adelaide would block the bullet for him. "No, no, don't close your eyes!
His voice trembled, and he could not even say a complete word. He was afraid, watching her close her eyes again. He feared that this woman would not wake up again. "Call the doctor!" He glanced back at the door. The dazed staff pulled out his cell phone in a panic.
The police quickly got off the car and pulled up the cordon. Some armed special police pursued the direction where the gangsters fled, while the rest stayed, so as not to cause panic among the villagers and tourists.
A policeman took out his mobile phone and dialed the emergency number again. With his explanation, the hospital paid immediate attention and sent doctors and nurses. Ambulances sounded their sirens and they stepped over red lights and crowded vehicles and finally arrived at the village ten minutes later.
The three doctors raised the stretcher and trotted to the side of Antonio. He refused to lose his hand holding Adelaide, as if she would disappear.
"Sir, we understand your mood, but she lost so much blood, if not treated well, she will die!" The doctor stooped to pull Antonio away.
Antonio then let the nurse carefully lift Adelaide onto the stretcher.
Lying on stretcher, Adelaide closed her eyes and had to response when Antonio called her.
"Don't worry, Sir, she's just fainting in pain!"
The doctor said. A few people turned over Adelaide and found the wound was still bleeding. The doctor frowned, looking at that flimsy woman, "Quickly!"
She was carried to the ambulance, Antonio closely followed her and held her hands. Looking at her bleeding, Antonio felt a deep sense of frustration, and the helplessness slowly swallowed him.
He'd rather he got shot! He put her hand to his mouth, crying sadly. He begged God not to take her away.
He finally dared to face his heart. He loved her and didn't want her to get hurt.
"You'd better talk to her, Sir. It could be more dangerous if she doesn't wake up!" The doctor was frightened at the sight of this stern man, and there was an air of strength about him that made one want to surrender.
Hearing the words, Antonio raised his head and her eyes were red.
He coldly said, "Didn't you say she fainted out of pain?" If she could remain in a coma and not feel the pain, he hoped she would not wake up and suffer now.
The doctor nodded and said, "Yes, but now I have to clean her wounds and stop the bleeding. If she remains unconscious, she may die."
"What do you mean!" Antonio got up, tugged the collar of the doctor's clothes. The chill in his eyes let the doctor shiver.
If it were not for the two nurses stopped him, Antonio would throw the doctor off the car. He looked down at Adelaide, who was wearing oxygen bottles on the face. Antonio guessed, she must be very painful! "Hum! Adelaide is pregnant, you better be careful. I want my baby and my wife!" Antonio sat down and warned him. Once again she grasped Adelaide's hand, "Adelaide, did you hear that? Open your eyes to see me, I am Antonio!"
But Adelaide was motionless!
Antonio's heart seemed to fall into the bottom of the valley. He gritted his teeth and continued, "Adelaide, get up and talk to me. I still have many secrets to tell you!"
I love you!
Adelaide, did you hear me? I love you!
Tears blurred his sight. Adelaide had no strength to open her eyes, but her finger moved slightly. Antonio said to the doctor excitedly, "She moved, I just felt her hand in move!" The doctor nodded. "It's a good thing to move. You keep talking to her."
Antonio held her hand, not daring to exert force for fear that if he would make her hurt.
Finally they arrived at the hospital. Adelaide was taken to the operating room. He followed to the door of the operating room and was stopped. The doctor walked in too.
He pulled the doctor's sleeve, warning, "If one of them die, I will kill you!"
Hearing the words, the doctor went into the operating room with a heavy face.
