Chapter 28 Pain in the Ass
Clarissa was unhappy in her heart. She made a call to Adelaide.
"Sister, I wondered if you slept well last night.
Antonio went far. I asked him not to sleep with me in his arms, but he said he loved me and had to hold me to feel safe."
Adelaide gritted her teeth and said.
"Very good!"
She hung up the phone in a hurry. She felt comfortable to hear Clarissa's words.
It was one thing to know that Antonio and Clarissa were sleeping together, and it was another to hear her say it in person. She forced herself not to think about Clarissa's words, but she couldn't stop thinking about the images that came out of her mouth.
Adelaide's forehead slowly filled with fine beads of sweat. Her eyebrows wrinkled together from the pain. She covered her stomach with one hand while shouting,
"Damla, Damla, my stomach, it hurts, it hurts!"
Clarissa's words stimulated Adelaide. Adelaide felt the child as if to leave her. Damla was not there. She shouted while no one to come. Adelaide grits teeth, picked up the mobile phone and made a call to Antonio.
But he hung up. And when she called again, it was already off.
Adelaide's tears came out. She thought of Hanna her best friend so she made a call to her with trembling hands.
"Hello, Adelaide."
"Hanna, my stomach hurts so much, it hurts so much, come to my house!"
With her last breath, she finished the sentence brokenly. Without too much strength to support herself, she passed out.
The good thing is that when she got married Hanna came to her house, and there are not many people with the surname Gu in this area, saying which building Antonio lives in others quickly told her. When Hanna came to Adelaide, Damla was playing with her phone on the first floor, not knowing exactly what she was doing, perhaps she was too involved to hear Adelaide's cries for help. When the two went upstairs, Adelaide's lower body was already bleeding. Both of them were terrified and carried Adelaide to her car.
She then drove Adelaide to the hospital.
The lights in the operating room were on for a whole hour. Hanna walked around in the long corridor. She still remembered Adelaide's happy expression the day she married Antonio, but in just a few years, how did she get herself into this state?
The doctor came out of the operating room and first reprimanded Hanna. How could a pregnant woman get angry and lose sleep in the early stages of pregnancy?
After the lecture, he told Hanna that it was fortunate that she had been in good health, or she would probably not have been able to keep the baby.
She was slightly relieved to hear that Adelaide and the baby were fine.
Adelaide was pushed to the ward before she woke up. As Hanna looks at her bestie lying sickly on the bed with a pale face, she was furious and blamed Antonio for everything.
Without waiting for Adelaide to wake up, she came to the Baron Group in a rage.
The receptionist asked her who she was looking for. Hanna yelled out Antonio's name. As the receptionist was to ask her if she had an appointment,
Hanna unkindly tugged at the receptionist's collar,
"Appointment? I'm his wife's best friend, where is he now?"
The receptionist had never seen such a fierce woman, and she informed Hanna of Antonio's office. Hanna rushed to Antonio's office by elevator.
Antonio's office was not in the highest floor of the company, but he had his own independent reception desk. Seeing Hanna coming straight to Antonio's office, Koby hurriedly stopped Hanna and said with a smile.
"Hello, miss, this is a private office. Do you have an appointment?"
Without saying a word, Hanna punched Koby on his face, and his glasses fell to the floor, but Koby didn't bother with the glasses, he continued to reach out to stop Hanna and shouted at the office again. "Mr. Antonio, there's a woman wants to see you."
"Let her in."
Just as Antonio's words fell, Hanna kicked open the door, followed by Koby, whose left side of his face was puffed up with purple and blue, his hand still pulling on her clothes.
"Koby, take half a day off, get a new pair of glasses, go home and take the swelling off your face, go ahead."
"Yes, Mr. Antonio!"
After Koby left, Antonio frowned and listened to Hanna's deafening roar.
"Antonio, why are you so irresponsible. Why didn't you treat Adelaide well since you have married her?"
He thought it was Adelaide who had complained about his affairs with her best friend, so he had a worse impression upon Adelaide. He looked at Hanna and said in a cold voice.
"It is my family affair, not your business!"
Hanna was not soft and weak like Adelaide who was submissive. She had a fiery personality and said.
"Bullshit, how is it none of my business. Adelaide is my best friend, her business is my business. You left her home alone and almost had a miscarriage!"
Antonio frowned and grew more and more disgusted with Adelaide. She called her bestie instead of Damla when something happened. Wasn't this deliberately making her bestie think he was abusing her? How scheming.
Antonio was angry and he completely forgot that he had just hung up on Adelaide over and over again during the meeting.
"Hmph, almost having a miscarriage means she did not have a miscarriage."
Antonio's harsh tone made Hanna want to hit him.
Just then Alvin appeared. He had been listening outside for a long time. He pushed the door open and reprimanded.
"What's going on? Antonio, I heard that a girl came to you and not only threatened the receptionist but also beat up Koby!"
As the saying goes, good things don't go unnoticed and bad things spread a thousand miles. When Koby sneaked away, he was seen by the gossipy female staff, who made a big deal out of it. "Who are you?"
Hanna asked in an unpleasant tone.
The man smiled and nodded his head in greeting to her.
"Hello, I'm Alvin, Antonio's uncle!"
"Oh, Uncle, then you should teach your nephew. He left Adelaide home alone, causing her to almost miscarry."
Hanna didn't know about Antonio's previous conflict with his uncle, and foolishly thought he could help teach Antonio a lesson.
She told Alvin all about Adelaide's encounter and what the doctor had said.
"Adelaide is pregnant now, you should make more time for her. Adelaide's friend is kind, you talking to her like that makes others laugh at the Baron family's lack of family education."
On the surface he had the same sullen face as Antonio, but in his heart he was laughing, as long as he could laugh at Antonio, it was a happy thing, especially he could scold him as elder.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
