Chapter Passion 31
Chapter 31
Tristan’s emotions were indescribable. He tried to organize his thoughts. He wanted to speak to Yvette.
Should he apologize first? Or perhaps ask where she had been all these years? Or something else….
Yet, before he could sort out his thoughts, Yvette brushed past him without even glancing his way.
Tristan was stunned. He turned around, but Yvette had already gotten into a car. She spoke to the driver softly, “Let’s go.”
As Tristan watched Yvette disappear from his view, it took him a long time to come back to his senses.
As he was about to call Xavier, he remembered how Xavier had treated Yvette over the years and
hesitated.
Tristan had selfish motives when it came to Yvette. He silently noted her car plate number and sent someone to look into where she currently lived.
The black Bentley drove down the highway slowly. Yvette looked out the window calmly. She felt at
peace.
It was strange. Why had Tristan been at the cemetery in the western suburbs too?
Memories of Tristan bullying her were still vivid.
She removed her hearing aid. Her ears, which had originally just been weak, would occasionally ring and sometimes even bleed if she got too emotional, all because of Tristan.
How could she not hate him?
Sometimes, Yvette regretted saving him back then. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t be plagued by these
ailments now.
But she also knew it was best to avoid unnecessary trouble. The most important thing now was to save
Noah.
So, she’d pretended not to recognize Tristan as a way to avoid trouble, especially since she knew he would do anything for Daphne.

On the way back, Yvette received a call from Carnival Central Media.
“Is this Ms. Cameron? We admire your work greatly. We heard you released a new piece recently. Could we buy the rights to it? Rest assured, money is not an issue,”
Carnival Central Media was the largest talent agency under Lane Group, and Daphne was one of their top
stars.
Besides running a trading company, Yvette also worked as a composer under the pseudonym ‘Cameron‘.
Before her return, Yvette had deliberately spread the word about her new composition to approach

Xavier.
Although she had indeed composed a new piece, now that she was close to Xavier, there was no need to sell her music anymore.
“Sorry, I have no plans to collaborate for now.”
The manager on the other end of the line quickly responded, “Ms. Cameron, we will have our company’s famous star, Ms. Daphne Reyes, sing it. Your song will undoubtedly become a hit-”
Before the manager could finish, Yvette scoffed. “Sorry, if the singer had been someone else, we might’ve still been able to continue this conversation.
At Carnival Central Media’s headquarters, Daphne’s manager, Kelly Simone, stared at the phone as Yvette hung up on her. It took her a while to regain her senses.
Then, she shook her head at Daphne. “Daph, Ms. Cameron rejected the offer.”
Daphne raised her eyebrows. “Did you not mention that she could name her price?”
“I did, but she still refused.”
Cameron was quite renowned abroad. Every piece she composed was a hit.
Last year,
her song “Girl on Fire” was even adapted into a few languages, and all the versions were extremely popular.
Daphne’s career had hit a bottleneck, and she needed a song like that to regain her prominence as a singer.
“Did she know I would be singing it?” Daphne asked.
Kelly nodded and repeated Yvette’s words earlier to her.
Daphne’s expression changed. “Who does she think she is? She should be grateful that I’m interested in her work!”
Kelly suggested, “Daph, isn’t Mr. Shaw your friend? And Mr. Lane too? It wouldn’t be hard to get the song if they helped.”
