Chapter 27 What's The Relationship Between Us
Chapter 27 What's The Relationship Between Us
After Madelyn left the hospital, she went to the detention center to visit her father.
Samuel looked well. He was a little blacker and thinner than before, but in good health.
Madelyn felt relieved.
She went on with her busy life.
She worked in the music center during the day, and taught several students in addition to the work in the restaurant at night. She felt very tired every day, but could earn more.
A week had passed quickly.
This week, she hadn't seen Benjamin, but she got to know that he had gone to Esrand by reading news in the entertainment section of the newspaper.
He had attended a celebrity reception in Esrand.
At the reception, Benjamin wore a black velvet suit, a snow-white organ shirt, and a black bow tie.
Standing in the crowd, he was dazzling and extremely dignified.
And next to him was a beautiful woman. Benjamin's hand gently wrapped around her waist, which made them seem to be an adorable couple.
Madelyn recognized that she was a top star, who had been awarded as the best actress. At this moment, she was resting on Benjamin's side like a sweet little bird, with a look of ambition to marry into a wealthy family.
Madelyn gently put down the newspaper.
She thought to herself that fortunately, she didn't think that Benjamin treated her as a special person. It was normal for an excellent man like him to be surrounded by women.
Two days later, Madelyn worked part-time at the restaurant.
Benjamin came.
He was dressed in a dark blue shirt, iron gray trousers, and a black windbreaker.
He looked mature and handsome.
Benjamin came here alone, and ordered some food, but he didn't eat much. Instead, he just leaned against the chair and listened to Madelyn play the piano quietly. Madelyn was not sure why he came, and she could only try to ignore the burning gaze.
At ten o'clock, the restaurant was closed.
Madelyn packed up and got ready to leave.
When she left, Benjamin's seat was empty.
Madelyn breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time she felt that she was stingy, since she should have greeted him and thanked him for taking care of her in the hospital. Walking out of the restaurant, a golden Continental stopped in front of her. The window was rolled down, and she saw Benjamin's handsome face.
"Get in the car." He said briefly.
After hesitating for a moment, Madelyn finally opened the door and got into the car. The main reason was that his car was too ostentatious, and she didn't want to attract too much attention. Benjamin started the car, and after a while, he glanced at her and reminded, "Seat belt."
Madelyn blushed and started to buckle up quickly.
She stared at Benjamin. At this moment, he was only wearing a shirt and trousers, and his coat was casually placed on the back seat of the car.
Benjamin said softly, "Do you think I'm handsome?"
Huh?
Madelyn's face was more blushing.
Benjamin's car stopped at a crossroad, and he turned to look at Madelyn, with an implication that both of them could understand.
Madelyn couldn't bear such ambiguity, and she said after thinking for a while, "Mr. Clark, thank you that day."
Benjamin didn't say anything.
Madelyn ventured to say again, "There is a bus stop nearby, and the night bus is still running here."
Benjamin's look was deep and serene, and finally he said, "Madelyn, stay with me for a while."
He called her Madelyn...
Madelyn could not bear to see him like this!
Benjamin drove the car to the foot of a mountain without a trace of human habitation around, which was a good place to do something intimate.
Madelyn just got to know his intention when they arrived there.
Benjamin was not in a good mood obviously. He took out a cigarette, lit it up, and started to smoke.
Holding the cigarette in his slender fingers, he just kept putting them in and out of the window now and then.
Madelyn was attracted by such a picture of him.
It was indeed cold at the foot of the mountain. Since Madelyn wore a skirt, she soon had a red nose from the cold, and the corners of her eyes were slightly red against her white face, which made her delicate and attractive.
Benjamin bent down to reach for the coat and threw it to her, "Put it on."
"Thank you." Madelyn's voice trembled slightly, and she regretted coming here with him, since she felt that Benjamin was a little different tonight.
Her instincts were right.
When Benjamin finished smoking a cigarette, he leaned over to kiss her.
After kissing intermittently for a while, Madelyn regained consciousness. She leaned against his shoulder and murmured softly, "Benjamin..."
She begged in a low voice, "What's the relationship between us?"
Benjamin looked at her quietly, knowing that she was unwilling to do that...
