Chapter Chapter Ten: meeting the wolves
Nala POV
I woke up early a bit too early, finding that I can't fall back to sleep I decided to get up and get ready for the day. I took a hot shower as payback to all the cold showers I used to take in my crappy apartment. I brushed my teeth, hair, and went on the hunt for my clothes.
I couldn't find any of MY clothes all I can find are the new stuff Kyle bought me.
Putting on some baby blue lacey panties and bra, they fit me perfectly which made me blush a deep red. He got my size spot on, I didn’t supply him with any of my measurements.
Looking at myself in the mirror my ribs are a bit too prominent, my breast looks like a twelve-year- old. I'm too skinny, too many missed meals, and many others I couldn't afford. Shaking my head I put on a pink sweater dress with knee-high socks and converse, I looked okay, I loved this style although Kyle had too much stuff for me most of them looked to be more on the girlie side.
I wasn't as good as Kyle at doing hair so I just throw it up in my famous messy bun, a bit too messy but good enough for me.
Stepping outside I'm met with silence. Maybe they are still asleep, but they did say there is a backyard. I decide to go and discover, if I'm going to stay here then I want to know my surroundings. I walk down the stairs keeping quiet not to disturb anyone, I skip through the kitchen and out to the backyard.
It's a standard backyard, green grass, some bed flowers, the whole thing is surrounded by a forest with big trees. We weren't in the city anymore, this feels like I moved miles and miles away. I knew our town got a forest part but I never had the privilege of going there.
I hear something shuffling between the trees, I try to look and I see a dog!
His coat is black and shiny, he's standing tall and proud with his head held up high, his eyes are dark black with some silver specks in them.
"Beautiful" it just slips my lips and he looks over at me.
Our eyes lock and I feel a strange pull toward him. I feel like I just got home.
The doggie felt the pull too I guess or he saw me as his next meal and walk toward me, I was frozen in place waiting for it to do the first move. The dog stands in front of me still looking at me, I raise my hand slowly wanting to touch his fur. Is it as soft as it looks from away, I pet the doggie for a few minutes while he purrs like a cat enjoying the touch. I never had a pet before I wonder if the guys will allow me to keep him.
Our moment is broken all of a sudden and way too early for me, the dog starts getting away from me until he takes off running and I feel my heartbreaking. "Come back”
My vision goes blurry. I'm not going to cry what's wrong with me I'm a fighter and if I want something I go and get it. Right now I want that dog, he’s a little poor thing, I can't leave him alone. I take off running and trying to find my dog but it was to no use, after around thirty minutes of running I'm out of breath, sweaty mess and I'm tired. I sit down trying to slow my breathing before I start my search again.
A branch breaking gets the attention I look to see a dog, it's not my pretty black dog. This one is grey, No no, this one is too large to be a dog. It's a WOLF.
Staring at him I can feel my heart going crazy, he growled and my heart goes ballistic. Christian said if I see a wolf I should just go back home, but where home is? Walking backward slowly showing the wolf that I meant no harm but the wolf wasn't having any of it he kept approaching toward me watching me as his next prey.
I panic and do the one thing u never should do in front of a predator I take off running with the wolf running behind me. We kept running through the forest between the bushes, over the broken branches. I wasn't dressed for a run nor did I have any experience running in these types of terrain. Until I stumble and fall, the wolf closing in behind me. Shit, I'm dead meat.
I'm ready to say goodbye to this cold world when another wolf breaks from the bushes and took my offender down. This one had a golden coat, he was much bigger. I was stunned looking at those two the golden one was winning the fight, pinning the grey one to the ground while the latter whimper and go limp.
Taken by the scene and my golden here I didn't even notice the third wolf, golden like the first one they looked similar in size with the same green eyes. The said wolf got closer to me slowly as if not to scare me and went down on his stomach in front of me. After the fight, I just saw I knew this was a sign of submission. Is he submitting it to me? Why?
All these thoughts leave my brain the second our eyes met, the same feeling I had with the black dog, the one now I'm thinking was a wolf all along.
I raise my hand and pet his head, he makes a little purring sound and I keep on petting him, his fur is as soft as the black wolf. He was enjoying my touch as much as me.
