Chapter 11

Melissa came to see me, and I asked my assistant to let her in.
As soon as she walked in, Melissa dropped to her knees and grabbed my leg in desperation. I couldn’t help but frown, wondering why people always resorted to such dramatic gestures to get what they wanted. “Wendy, no, Ms. Collins, please forgive me. I was wrong to come between you and Henry. I’ll
leave him immediately.”
I looked at her and was intrigued. “Have you asked Henry for help with this? What did he say?” Melissa’s head drooped even lower, tears cascading to the ground. “He never returned my calls, and when I tried to find him, he had the security guards escort me out.”
Suddenly, Melissa lifted her head, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded with me. “Ms. Collins, I know I’ve made a big mistake. I shouldn’t have wanted to be Mrs. Johnson. Please, if you spare me, I’ll do anything you ask.”
She still didn’t know why I targeted her, which made me feel sad.
I gazed down at Melissa and gently patted her cheek. It was enough to make her eyes light up with a glimmer of hope. “Melissa, I wouldn’t be treating you like this if you had simply taken Henry away. But you crossed a line when you involved my grandmother.”
Her hope vanished entirely. “Ms. Collins, please, can’t you give me another chance? I didn’t mean to hurt anyone, truly.”
As Melissa reached out to grasp at my legs once more, I turned away and raised my hand dismissively. “Send her out.”

As the controversy online escalated and began to affect the Collins Group’s stock price, my assistant brought me the latest report. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disbelief. Melissa’s fans had a lot of sway. But I saw it as an opportunity, not a problem. The more opposition we faced, the worse the consequences would be.”
I didn’t hesitate to share all the damning information I had on Melissa, including her history of trading sexual favors with directors for roles. There were videos with clear audio. “Director Young, just give me this role. Jane is not good enough. She is not as good as me.
In another video, there’s a middle–aged man’s voice. “Melissa, be good and you’ll get the benefits.” “Mellie, you are so beautiful.”
“Director Lee…”
Fans were overwhelmed. [Melissa Sullivan! Tell me this isn’t tru disgusting.]
How could
you do this! This is so [Melissa has been treating us like fools, right? Just because we like you, do we deserve to be tricked like this? ]
[Melissa, fuck you! Are you a slut? We have done so much for you, is this how you repay us?] Some onlookers even gloated over the misfortune. [People might misunderstand that I am watching some unspeakable movies. How amusing! Is Melissa that open–minded?]
[I was so scared. I played it in front of my family and they gave me a weird look.]
elissa,
Judging by the sound, there seems to be more than one person. you are impressive.] [She is so bold that I want to call the police…]
As a result of the scandal, Melissa’s acting career came crashing down. Advertisers sought to terminate their contracts with her, and she was forced to pay hefty settlements that wiped out all of her earnings. Rumors circulated that she was also heavily in debt.
The extent of the backlash against Melissa was severe, with former fans resorting to personal insults, threats, and even stalking.
The assistant’s report on these developments made me laugh hard.
It seemed Melissa hadn’t anticipated such consequences when she was involved in my grandmother’s passing.
After all, she thought that Henry would cover everything for her and protect her, but she didn’t know that relying on a man was the stupidest idea.
