Chapter 41
Chapter 0041
“He was never a good person in the first place, so why are you so surprised?” Fury filled Samantha at the mention of Kendrick.
She had never expected her plans for revenge to be so challenging. All this was because of how infatuated Kendrick was with her. It seemed like it was time to expedite things and take back control.
She sl*pped the card she received earlier into her phone case. She was about to put her phone away when she thought of something. She decided to send a text to Alexis.
As Francis steered the car, he kept stealing glances at Samantha.
It wasn’t often he saw her all dolled up. Although she looked gorgeous tonight, the worried frown on her face upset him.
There was something about Samantha that captivated him. He wouldn’t have saved her and Nathan, otherwise. He had gone to the extent of caring for them all these years.
Francis noticed Samantha’s tousled hair. He reached out to brush her hair behind
her ear.
Samantha finished sending her text. She gave Francis a small smile, not bothered by the intimate gesture. “Thanks.”
Samantha constantly kept a certain distance between the two of them. If it weren’t for that, Francis would have mistaken them as a happy family.
Unfortunately, that was not the case.
Francis withdrew his hand and tightened his grip on the steering wheel. “You don’t have to try so hard all the time. I can help you.”
Samantha took one look at the serious expression on Francis‘ face. She understood what he meant. Gratitude filled her heart.
“I know, but you’re my last resort. I don’t want to expose you or Nathan.”
Samantha hugged her son tighter, for once admitting her feelings. If that person found out he had a son, God knows what he would do.
“I’ll have to trouble you to drop by Rayplaza to bring Alexis over.”
“Sure. Let me send you two home first,” Francis answered with a nod. He rarely refused Samantha.

When Alexis and Francis reached Samantha’s home, Samantha was in the kitchen. She was busy cooking while Nathan was enjoying his cartoons in the living room.
“You bastard, did you lie to me? Where is Samantha?” Pissed that she was tricked by a nasty–looking man, Alexis kicked the back of Francis‘ knees.
Francis instantly fell to the ground, kneeling.
As he was crouched at that time, he hadn’t expected Alexis‘ move. There wasn’t an opportunity for him to defend himself.
“Damn it!” Francis had never been bullied like this.
It was easy to see that Alexis was a spirited woman, but she was way too gutsy for her own good. Francis swiftly yanked her toward him and fl*pped her over. She landed before him.
Resisting surrender, Alexis ignored the fact that she was wearing a skirt. She planted a kick on Francis‘ lower abdomen. Francis arched his back to avoid her attack but felt a leg hooking itself behind his n*eck.
He narrowed his eyes, pleasantly surprised by her abilities. It was rare to see such a skillful woman.
Alexis was definitely trained to a certain degree. If not, she wouldn’t have been able to land the second blow.
Still, Francis wasn’t that keen on fighting Alexis. So, with a mischievous smirk, he grabbed her ankle and slid his palm down her thigh.
“Argh, you piece of shit!” Alexis was completely taken aback by Francis‘ actions.
This was the first time in twenty decades anyone had ever taken advantage of her. She quickly pressed her palms against the floor to push herself up, withdrawing her leg back in the process.
“What’s going on?” Hearing the noise, Samantha rushed out to see the two of them fighting. @
When she heard Samantha’s voice, Alexis immediately ceased her attacks. She ran toward Samantha and began inspecting her for any injuries. “You’re actually here! Are you okay, Samantha?”
Francis had been polite when he invited Alexis. But after recent events, she automatically branded him as being evil.
Alexis had first been concerned when she couldn’t see Samantha. Now, Alexis was

Alexis‘ cheeks flushed as she recalled what Francis did. Her leg was burning up where the man had touched her.
“I’m fine. I asked Francis to give you a ride, so why are the two of you fighting?” Samantha was curious.
Considering Alexis‘ personality, she would have caused a scene much earlier if she believed Francis was a dubious person. So, Samantha didn’t understand why the two were fighting in her house.
She shot the two of them with a questioning look. Alexis couldn’t bring herself to answer, while Francis refused to answer out of anger.
Putting his shoes back on, Francis was on his way out when he spat, “Crazy b*tch.
