Chapter 42 Leaving
One hundred and twenty million, plus her deposit money, that's about two hundred. She also had some precious items that could
not be sold at the moment.
In a pitch dark room, Lena was standing alone.
This was her temporary shelter. She had no place to go. This place could provide her with the last security as a home.
Blood oozed from the wound on the corner of her mouth. She forced a smile. She looked very happy and satisfied.
From now on, there would only be her and the baby, no one else.
From the moment she knew she had fallen in love with Cliff, they were so detached that they couldn't be together even if they
take another step.
Why did she end up like this?
How come she became the betrayer in the family?
In fact, she really didn't know answers to any of the questions above, this was just like a dream. When she woke up the next day,
everything had changed. She was still herself, and the person next to her was no longer the same him.
She had a lot of questions to ask, but she couldn't find anyone to answer them.
Nora was her best friend but she was locked up by Austin.
Mrs. Huo was as kind to Lena as a mother. But her door was closed to her overnight.
Only Sherry.
Except for Sherry.
All the news, they changed since Sherry's strange move.
'Cliff, who do you love truly? '
Was she Sherry or the woman in the photo?
Or was there any place in his heart for her?
The mottled wall, the traces of maintenance, were the warmest shelter.
The child's groan was the most beautiful music in the world. It was so beautiful that both her ears and body were both enjoying it.
Finding and taking care of her baby had become her instinct, and she did not need anyone else to give her advice anymore.
After she washed herself, she covered her face with a handkerchief and walked quickly into the room.
"Baby, don't cry. Mommy is here. Don't cry..."
"Good boy. Mommy is here. You are the best."
"Baby, eat more, you will grow strong..."
All kinds of whispers, accompanied by the baby's moans, filled the air. At late night, occasionally, people could hear the cry of
wild dogs and cats.
"Jacob, we..."
Sitting on the co pilot seat, Hiram pulled the door with enough strength.
"What can you do there, Hiram?" Jacob asked calmly, looking straight ahead.
"What else can I do?" His words lit up the fire of gunfire in Hiram's heart. He became so furious all of a sudden.
"What do you think I can do there?"
"Do you think we should just stand by and watch them being bullied? Do you really think we should do nothing to help while they
have no way to go? "
"Jacob, Cliff will came to his senses sooner or later. He is our friend. We can't blame him for what he has done, but..."
Hiram's eyes were red. He was so angry there were no words to describe his feelings.
It seemed as if someone was behind all this, from the beginning till now. They were all pawns. Even Cliff was screwed.
They didn't lose anything. They were not miserable but deceived.
The worst of them was the new born baby and Lena!
Cliff had already lost his memory after the car accident. When he woke up again, he thought that Sherry Mu was the one he
loved most. So he divorced Lena and told her that it was unacceptable for any of the resident in Simpson city to keep her in.
What was going on!
If it was really the case, they would have nothing to say. But they knew what was on his mind.
With Sherry beside Cliff, everything was different.
There was something going on, and Sherry had something to do with it.
'This woman is a persistent existence. Wherever we go, there is her.'
"Come on Hiram, it's time to go."' Jacob pushed his glasses and interrupted Hiram's thought.
No matter what had happened, no one could change the fact that it had happened.
As for the future of theirs, they might need to plan ahead.
At this moment, Jacob didn't think the same way as Hiram did. Instead, he believed that the further Lena took her kid away, the
better.
His father would regret it when he woke up, but that's on him.
Being played by a woman for so long, that's a lesson Cliff should never forget. That's a lesson none of them should ever forget.
"Jacob, I have seen through you. You are a man with a heart of stone. No wonder you could be a lawyer."
"What are lawyers? Lawyers are creatures without life and a existence of living machine. "
"Please take me to the downtown area and I'll take a taxi home."
Hiram stared at Jacob with cold eyes. Jacob grasped the steering wheel more tightly but soon loosed it.
"Okay."
They finally parted ways because of Lena.
Lena didn't know, nor would she ask.
Once she got the money, she bought an abroad ticket with her passport. She would go to a small country for a while, and then
run around the other places.
Simpson city. Goodbye!
In the blue sky, the plane flew across. A mother and her child hugged each other, and left.
There were mountains and rivers around the Simpson city, and a small villa was built inside.
A silver haired old man smiled at the crib that held his great grandson in it.
The little guy was stocky, ate a lot and was obedient. What's more, he was so naughty and somehow that made other people
love him more.
As long as he couldn't see the old man, he would look for him with his big eyes.
The moment he saw his little baby, Henry felt as happy as he had ever been.
"Master, Miss Lena has left with young master, by this morning's flight." A middle-aged man dressed very decently in his fifties.
"Yes." The old man replied in a low voice and looked up at the sky, where an airplane was flying over his head.
"It's not a bad idea to leave."
The old man repeated again and again. Then he walked forward with his hands on his back, and the middle-aged man pushed
the stroller to follow him.
"Cliff, I made this white fungus soup by myself. It can invigorate vital energy and blood. Have a bowl! "
She persuaded the man who was reading files in a soft voice. The man looked straight forward and his straight eyebrows
wrinkled slightly.
"Sherry, I'll drink it later. Put it aside first. " He kept his head down, and began to write notes with a pen.
Sherry stopped and smiled happily. "Okay, you can drink it whenever you want to. "
This man finally became hers.
'Lena, do you really think you can beat me? You're still wet behind the ears! ' '
'Lena, since you left today, never come back again. I'll protect Cliff and our home. '
'Lena, this is a gift for you. I hope you will like it, and love it for this life. '
