Chapter 5: The Shop
I was getting ready to go to the shop. Today was the first day it would be opened. I had hired some good artists and most of them lived in St. Paris, Piqua, or Urbana, Ohio. I greeted everyone before walking to the back and making a pot of coffee. I poured a cup and walked to the office.
I needed at least three more artists. I sat behind my desk reading the applications that I picked up from the receptionist, Dawn before heading to the back of the building. As I walked, I smiled at how the building came out.
There were couches, loveseats, and chairs in the front for people to sit in waiting for their turn. They were comfortable. They could look through books with tattoo designs. I have a friend that is really good at designing tattoos and several of her designs have sold so she gets money for every one of them when a biker or people choose them.
I had donated money to have a building placed at the edge of town so people could go and dance to have fun. I will go there one day. Just not right now. It was for kids 18 and older, after 10 pm it is for 21 and older to enjoy a beer and have fun.
Another building was placed across the street this is for kids 10 and older to play games, with indoor volleyball courts, basketball, and tennis courts. Kids from Urbana, and Piqua come here to play and stay off the streets.
My manager walked into my office and sat on the chair in front of my desk. "Tara, did you hear the news?"
"What news, I asked?"
"The Warrior Mc is moving to town. They bought the property down the road from your house."
Dawn knew where I lived as she has been to my house on a few occasions. We got along well because her father kicked her out of his house one week ago. I have an apartment attached to the shop and she is renting it.
"If I am here let me know when they come here. I don't want to see any of them. Not if it can be helped."
"I understand. I will try to warn you that way if you need to leave you can leave once, they are in one of the rooms."
What I didn't know was that one biker has already seen my red charger and wanted to know who owned it and if they would sell it. Of course, he was told it was owned by the owner of the shop and it was not for sale.
I would never sell my charger. I worked on that car since I was 15 years old. It was now in mint condition. I put a lot of money into that car. It has won many compactions and is worth a lot of money now.
That is what I do as a hobby. I rebuild cars and bikes. I am now working on an Indian motorcycle rebuilding it from the ground up. It will be a showpiece when I finish it. It too will be worth quite a lot of money when I am finished.
I finished reading the resumes of applications and asked Dawn to call and interview them and if she likes them, they will have a second interview with me. I didn't know that the three women were claimed by members of the Warrior MC and that one of them, Lisa was the sister of the president.
I stood up and walked out of my office door. I told Dawn I would be in tomorrow around 3 pm. and walked out the door over to my car.
We had just walked out of the restaurant when I saw the tiny, beautiful woman get into the charger. I watched as she backed up and drove out of town. I noticed she didn't look over at us like most women would have.
I know once we are fully moved here that eventually I would meet her. At least I thought I would. I didn't know that she would never meet me at her shop. I would end up meeting her at a Biker Rally. And here at that Pony Wagon day by accident.
I also didn't know that she would be as cold as Ice to me and any other man that attempted to talk to her. Three of my member's women have put applications in at her shop. My sister, Lisa is one, and my VP's woman was another. Her name is Sandy. The other woman is one of my member's women.
We arrived back at the clubhouse driving by a house that sat way off the road and could not be seen from the road. You could see the buildings and privacy fence being put up around the property.
Someone doesn't want their privacy invaded. I don't know who lives there at least not yet. As we got off our bikes and walked into the bar the women informed us, they have a second interview with the owner tomorrow.
That is good. At least the women have interviews. Then our phones started ringing. We have interviews tomorrow with a factory KTH down the road on 235. Things are looking up for our club.
We decided to celebrate this weekend with a cookout and dancing. We all knew we would be hired. I on the other hand have opened up a garage in town. I work on cars and bikes. I am a certified mechanic. I am very good at what I do. My VP is also a certified mechanic.
We did hire three women to work in the office and file the paperwork and collect the money. One was a pretty little thing; however, she has a boyfriend and a baby. We don't mess with women that are taken.
Maybe she knows the woman driving around in the charger. I want that car. It purrs like a kitten and has been taken well cared for. I also doubt that she would ever sell it. There is not one scratch on that car.
I decided to drive my jeep to town today. As I walked into the shop, I went straight to the back made my coffee, poured a cup, and walked to the office.
I interviewed Lisa first. She talked about her experience and informed me her brother the president of the Warrior MC that just moved to town. I informed her that she was hired and what her work hours would be.
I walked her out to Dawn and had Dawn assign her one of the rooms before telling, Sandy she was next. I did the same thing with her and interviewed the last woman she was hired as well. I am not fully staffed. I completed the paperwork before shutting the light off and closing the door.
I walked out the door and climbed into the jeep. I went back home where I changed my clothes before walking out to the garage to work on the bike.
I finished for the night, so I washed my hands and walked out closing the door. I walked inside the house where I started dinner. I friend the meat before placing it in the crockpot along with a large can of mushroom gravy.
Once I finished, I walked to the living room and lay on the couch turning the TV on. I must have fallen asleep because about two hours later I slowly opened my eyes. I looked at the clock hanging on the wall I saw it was only 3:00 pm.
I slowly sat up on the couch. I finally stood up and walked to the kitchen checking the meat in the crockpot. I found it was tender, so I made some mashed potatoes and corn.
I filled my plate with the food and sat down at the table and ate. When I finished, I put the food away and rinsed everything before putting the plate, cup, pans, and silverware in the dishwasher.
I carried a cup of coffee to my office and sat behind my desk. I opened my laptop and started writing the first of 20 chapters of the book I do each day. I have over 101 chapters finished. When I complete this book, I plan to have close to at least 500 chapters.
I completed the 20 chapters and turned the laptop off. I walked up the stairs to my bedroom where I took a shower and dressed in jeans, boots, and a tee shirt. I put my jacket on and walked downstairs.
I grabbed my cell phone and put it in my jacket pocket before putting my credit card and $50 in the back pocket of my jeans. I grabbed the keys to the bike and walked out shutting the door behind me. I opened the door of the garage and sat down on my bike starting it.
I drove out of the garage closed the door and headed down the driveway out onto the street. I drove to the bar and turned my bike off. I walked inside and looked at Cindy.
"Tara, are you going to dance before the bar fills up, she asked me?"
"Yes, Cindy I am."
I walked backstage and put on my shorts and halter top. I put my hair up in a ponytail and walked down the hallway to the stage. I put my music on and stepped out onto the stage and started my warmup.
I didn't see the bikers sitting in the back corner watching me. I was in my own world. I danced for about four hours before leaving the stage.
As we watched her, I fell in love. She danced so gracefully, and she was good. Very good. It is as if she didn't know that anyone was watching her. I know I have seen her dance before, but I can't remember where.
My VP, Fire Blade looked at me with wide eyes. "Do you know who that is, Phantom?"
"Not really, she looks familiar."
"That is Fury's daughter. Tina. The one he kicked out of his club for getting raped."
"No way, Fire Blade. It can't be her."
"It is her. I am telling you I am not wrong."
As Cindy placed our beer on the table, I looked at her. "Was that Tina, Fury's daughter?"
"Yes, it is. She comes here to dance at least three times a month before the bar is open. So, leave her alone. She won't take it nicely if you bother her."
"She also owns this bar as well as the tattoo shop in town. That girl never stops working. She is always working on something. She never slows down. She works until she is so tired, she will pass out."
"She is a hard worker, kind to others, and makes sure the kids in the community always have what they need. Several low-income families have nothing to worry about. If their kids need something she makes sure they get it."
"We won't like it if you bother her. So, stay away from her Phantom. Men have treated her like shit. And besides, she won't give any of you the time of day."
I watched as Cindy turned and walked back to the bar. Fire Blade turned his head looking at me in shock. "Looks like we have been warned."
"I would say it has. We all knew what Fury had done. We didn't know why he hated his daughter so much. But he did."
"I want her. No woman has eaten at my gut more than she does. I just don't know how I can get her to trust me. She doesn't date, she doesn't look at men and she doesn't talk to them."
