My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2121

Erine said, "Miss Whitlock, I've prepared some fruits and desserts for you. Do try them quickly. The fruits today are very fresh, and they're all your favorite kind." Selina knew they were trying to shift her attention away from the problem.

However, after hesitating, she stood up.

She had talked to Yesseca for a long while, but she was still unable to convince her. She hoped that Matthew would be able to change her mind soon.

Yesseca could take it, but Selina refused to accept it.

What right did Tremaine have to send Yesseca back?

Yesseca was such a precious sister to her. How could Tremaine just abandon her like that?

"Yesseca, have a good chat with Mathew," Selina said to Yesseca, "If anything happens, you can always tell your brother-in-law."

Selina was not in the mood to eat.

She sat there and sighed.

Although Erine was a servant, Matthew and Selina did not treat her as one. If there was any trouble, they would not hide it from her. Erine was there during the whole conversation and she heard everything.

Seeing Selina sigh, Erine tried to comfort her, "Miss Whitlock, it's common for a couple to break up. Just because two people fell in love doesn't mean that they'll be with each other forever. You should let it go. If Miss Cowell has asked you not to meddle, then maybe its for the best that you don't interfere. After all, it's their relationship. It's not an outsider's place to get involved."

"I'm not an outsider. I'm her sworn sister," Selina corrected her.

Erine said, "No matter who you are, no one should interfere in other people's relationships. Miss Whitlock, you have to understand this!"

She didn't respond.

She understood what Erine meant.

Although she knew what Erine was trying to say, she was still unwilling to give up.

After all, the relationship between Yesseca and Tremaine wasn't a normal one.

There was a huge difference between their identities.

Not only that, Yesseca had left home and gone all the way to another country. No one would know how she was bullied there.

Judging by Yesseca's personality, Selina felt like even if Yesseca was bullied, she wouldn't tell a single soul.

To make matters worse, Tremaine was an overbearing person who would even take out a gun if he didn't get along well with someone. Selina was afraid Yesseca had been mistreated.

Before Lothar passed away, he had entrusted Yesseca to her. She didn't want Yesseca to suffer any grievances.

"Yesseca, what's going on between you and Tremaine?" Matthew was very calm, not at all like Selina's overly intense attitude.

It made Yesseca relax a little more.

When she was talking to Selina earlier, she had been worried sick. She was afraid Selina would get up and fly straight to Nashaland by plane as they spoke. "Mathew, it's just that our relationship didn't quite work out, so we broke up."

Yesseca was willing to tell Matthew what was on her mind. The reason why she was being vague at the moment was not because she wanted to hide

it from Matthew, but because she was unwilling to say too much.

It had been some time since she left Nashaland. Although the wound was still there, it had already been suppressed.

Yesseca didn't want to reopen the bloody wound again.

Therefore, it was better to let go.

"Why didn't it work out?" Matthew asked.

Yesseca lowered her gaze. Her long and thick eyelashes trembled gently, "Mathew, I know that you and Selina treat me well. Ever since my brother was gone, you two have been the closest to me. Even so, I still want to keep some things personal to myself. After all, everyone deserves privacy, right, Mathew?"

She would not say such words to Selina.

Selina wouldn't listen to it.

However, she could say this to Matthew.

Matthew was a man who could think about problems from the perspective of others.

Sure enough, Mathew was silent for a moment before he said, "Okay, I won't prod any longer."

Yesseca gulped.

She said, "Mathew, can you help me persuade Selina not to go to Nashaland and seek out

Tremaine? Please keep my last bit of pride for me."

This time, Matthew did not answer immediately.

He was silent for a long time.

Yesseca raised her eyes. She pleaded, "Mathew, please."

"Yesseca, are you sure you really want to break up with him this time? It's not just a misunderstanding? Is there no possibility for reconciliation?" Matthew asked in a low tone. Yesseca nodded hard.

She raised her right hand and said, "Mathew, swear to you that there will be no possibilities between me and Tremaine in this life, let alone reconciliation. It'll be impossible for us to even meet again."

Matthew sighed softly.

He said, "I'll talk to your sister."

Yesseca heaved a sigh of relief.

Matthew said, "Yesseca, since I made a promise to you, you should also promise me. Don't think about it too much. Let the past stay in the past. You can still live a good life in the future."

Yesseca nodded hard.

She tried to smile as brightly as she possibly could. She said, "Mathew, don't you think that I'm alright seeing that I'm able to stand here and tell you all of this?" Internally, Matthew smiled bitterly.

He didn't want to expose Yesseca.

There was still a long way to go before Yesseca could truly recover.

It seemed as if she was fine with it now, but in reality, the wound in her heart had not healed at all. It had only been suppressed by Yesseca.

Matthew really wanted to know what had happened between Tremaine and Yesseca. However, seeing Yesseca being so resolute, he knew that it wasn't a good idea to ask.

He guessed that it must have something to do with the woman named Qiana.

When he saw Qiana at that time, he had a hunch that Qiana would probably hinder Tremaine and Yesseca's relationship in the future.

He thought that Yesseca would be able to overcome it.

However, he didn't expect it to end up like this.

Judging from Yesseca's attitude, there was no possibility that she would get back together with Tremaine.

That was the worst part.

If Yesseca wanted to reunite with Tremaine, then he could act as a mediator for them. But at this moment... Matthew's eyes were dim.

Matthew asked Yesseca to head back first.

He knew Selina would not be able to

get over it for the time being. If she were to see Yesseca later, she would once again ask Yesseca about the issue between her and Tremaine, and she would want to fly to Nashaland to deal with him. She would only be a burden to Yesseca.

He had specifically asked Kyi in to send Yesseca home.

After watching the two leave, Matthew was lost in thought.

Back then, when Kyi in and Yesseca were being paired up by Selina, he'd genuinely felt like the two were a great match.

Kylin had a good character and a solid family background. Not to mention that he was Selina's cousin. If Yesseca could be with him, she would be able to lead a good life.

If that was the case, they would have been able to keep their promise to Lothar.

Unfortunately, Yesseca did not like Kylin. Thus, the matter was left alone.

Since Yesseca wasn't with Tremaine anymore, would it be possible for her to be with Kylin?

Thinking of the idea, Matthew shook his head with a wry smile.

It was too early to think about that.

He still had to figure out what had happened with Tremaine and Yesseca.
