Chapter 73 The Way He Pampered Her
Chapter 73 The Way He Pampered Her
Maggie stared at the message on her phone for a while to make sure he really relied "Me".
She was at a loss for words.
"I know you two love each other, but please don't hurt me like this!" Maggie thought to herself.
Maggie started typing, "Fine, you two lovebirds. But I can't just stuff you in a box and give you to Natalie."
She received two more texts before she could press the "send" button.
"I'm in a meeting right now."
"Just ask her yourself."
Maggie finally grasped what Kendrick was saying. He was in the middle of a meeting and wanted her to ask the question herself.
Maggie said, "Okay," in response.
Inside the large conference room, the Director of Business was updating Kendrick on the status of the hotel acquisition. Kendrick raised his head briefly before returning his attention to his phone. "Ask for details," he messaged Maggie once more.
When he asked Natalie what she liked, she replied, "I like you."
Kendrick thought back on his conversation with Maggie.
"
"If that's the case, 'me' as a response is perfectly acceptable," he thought.
He thought of Natalie's words, "I like... You!"
He couldn't get her sultry tone and adorable face when saying that out of his mind.
He remembered how she had laughed and how she had tears in her eyes.
And the way her cheeks flushed yesterday.
His memories flashed before his eyes like a movie, playing out scene by scene.
"This is the end of my report. Mr. Ramsey, did you have any feedback on my report?"
After being politely interrupted by the Director of Operations, Kendrick stopped recalling.
Kendrick raised his head and smiled.
The business director was scared.
He thought, "It took me three days and nights of meticulous work to get this ready. I even made sure there were no typos in the punctuation! He's not going to criticize me, is he?" "That's great." Kendrick encouraged, "Keep up the good work."
His head dipped once more as he texted Maggie, "Did you get the answer?"
He sounded like he was desperate to know the answer.
Maggie replied, "I'm asking her. I've come up with a great way. I will get her detailed answer without letting her know my real intention."
Maggie soon sent Natalie a questionnaire about her personal preferences and interests.
Maggie explained that she needed Natalie's help with a social studies project and suggested that she complete the form.
Natalie replied, "That's too long! I don't feel like reading it."
Maggie didn't give up but sent Natalie some cute emojis and money.
Maggie also noted that the questionnaire would partly determine her final exam score.
Natalie immediately accepted the money and now she had no choice but to fill in the questionnaire.
Before filling it out, she asked, "Maggie, is this questionnaire anonymous?"
"I guess so. I am the only one who can see your answers."
Natalie began filling out the form.
Most of the questions on the survey were multiple-choice, but there were also a few quiz questions at the end.
"Name a wish you really hope to come true. (In recent days or in the near future)."
Natalie answered, "My most recent wish is that Kendrick's leg heals quickly and that he is no longer in pain. My wish for the future is to travel to the North Pole with him to watch the aurora borealis" "What would you want the most if someone offered you a gift right now? (Only the ones that would actually happen. You are free to complete more than one)."
Natalie was lost deep in thought.
She already had it all, and everything she owned was top-notch.
She even had a husband when she arrived here.
After considering it, she finally responded with "the book Neurology, Fayman edition."
She couldn't buy the book online, and the only place with the book written in Fayman was the Faymany Library.
She couldn't fly all the way there just to read that book.
"Ramon Hale's latest album."
Ramon Hale was the most popular folk singer in the world. He released a new album recently and she really loved it.
"Chestnut pie from Seven Luck."
Natalie had a craving for warm chestnut pies every autumn. However, since Seven Luck was such a popular bakery, there were always a lot of people lining up in front of it. She wanted to eat chestnut pies but didn't want to waste her time waiting in line.
She sent the questionnaire to Maggie after completing it and said she could ask her to fill out any questionnaires as long as she paid her.
Maggie was speechless.
Maggie sent the questionnaire to Kendrick after reading it.
Getting Ramon Hale's record and Seven Luck's chestnut pie was easy for them. Maggie could buy the record from her friends, and Kendrick could buy the entire Seven Luck.
Maggie found this first wish difficult to achieve.
She deliberately circled it to show Kendrick that it was challenging to come true.
Readers were never permitted to borrow books from the Faymany Library.
Kendrick pressed his lips together.
Natalie enjoyed reading medical books recently.
According to Ashlynn, Natalie had purchased many of those books and was intelligent enough to read them.
Kendrick replied, "I'll take care of it."
He carefully began with the first multiple-choice question. Then, he discovered that Natalie enjoyed reading and swimming, that her favorite color was blue, and that her favorite flower was the lily of the valley. She had many favorite foods, but cilantro was her least favorite.
When he was about to finish reading the questionnaire, he noticed Natalie's wishes.
His eyes widened, and he then slowly showed a smile.
"Well, Maggie had done quite a good job." Kendrick thought.
This was the first time he had complimented Maggie.
Alisson Olsen worked as the interior display designer at Wonder Villa.
She managed the decor of the homes of famous and powerful people because she had studied interior design and had a good eye for art.
She visited Wonder Villa weekly to look after the flower arrangements.
When she arrived today, someone told her that Kendrick would replace all the flowers in the house.
The florist had already matched the flowers, which mainly were priceless lilies of the valley.
There were even blue lilies of the valley, a rare species that most people wouldn't have the chance to see.
All these flowers were shipped by air from Audale.
Kendrick had no particular taste in flowers. As a result, the florist would match the flowers in the house and obtain his approval before placing them.
No one could explain why Kendrick requested new flowers out of the blue.
As someone with strong professional ethics, Alisson did not ask about anything she should not have.
After rearranging the bouquets, Alisson sighed over the lilies of the valley in the living room's centerpiece.
"Their costs from cultivation to shipping equate to more than six months of combined salary of you and I," she said to Ashlynn.
Ashlynn said, "Wow! I need to be extra careful when I clean the house! I can't afford this no matter how long I save. Will these flowers wither?"
"The flowers have been preserved in a special way that allows them to stay in the nutrient solution for up to two weeks. But, they are so fragile that they will be replaced after half a month." "Why did Mr. Ramsey suddenly want to replace all the flowers?"
"I have no idea! I'm confused about that too. We need to stop wondering why and start doing what they say."
The two continued to whisper.
"What are you two muttering about?" Natalie asked as she entered the house.
She inhaled deeply, bringing with her the sweet aroma of the lily of the valley.
"What's up with all the lily of the valley?" Surprised, Natalie asked.
"Yes, these flowers were replaced just today. Mr. Ramsey told them to do so." Alisson replied.
"Kendrick changed out all of the flowers in the house for lily of the valley? And there are some blue ones here that I've never seen before. Could he have changed them because he knows I like them?" Natalie reflected herself.
She then thought she might have been overconfident.
