Chapter 7
DarkBeauty357
I was up early in the morning making some breakfast for Alec and I. I wanted to ask Alec if I can officially have a phone. Also, my wolf needed exercise because she is practically clawing at my eyes to be let loose. My straight blonde hair was up in a bun, and I was dressed in athletic clothing. I was setting the table when I heard a bunch of loud thumps. I ran over to the commotion and found out that Alec had stumbled, but not fallen, downstairs.
“Are you okay?” I quickly ran over to him.
“I’m fine.” He stated. “What’s for breakfast?” He walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. I wondered if this would be a good time to bring up the phone topic. I made our plates and set them at the table. We began eating.
“Alec....” I trailed off.
“Alpha.” He corrected me.
“Would I be able to have a phone?” I asked. He slammed his fork down and I jumped in my seat.
“No, what makes you think I’d actually let you have one?” He questioned.
“Please, I just want to talk to my family,” I begged. He stayed silent.
“Maybe we could go take a run together, and you could think about it?” I continued throwing around ideas.
“I suppose we could take a run.” He said and I actually felt a little happiness.
After breakfast, he went to change, and he was shirtless when he came back. I followed him out of the house, and I noticed all of the faded scars on his back. I didn’t ask how he got them because I’m positive that would set him off. Something about them hypnotized me, and I wanted so badly to trace my delicate fingers across his rugged scars, all of them. Alec must have a mysterious and dangerous past, and it excited me.
He was the first one to shift into his wolf, and I no longer saw the scars. His wolf stood tall with his dark brown fur. I took my clothes off behind a tree and quickly shifted into my blonde-furred wolf. We took off together.
I noticed how far back his land went because we ran for what seemed like hours. My wolf enjoyed playing with Alec’s wolf and it was nice to just let my thoughts flow freely.
Alec stopped abruptly and I ran into him. He lightly growled and was looking straight forward at a bush. Two black wolves came out of the forest, and I realized they were apart of the pack when they hung their heads in submission. They were communicating through pack link. He turned around to face me and his wolf nuzzled his head into my neck. His wolf was kind, and it made my wolf purr.
I followed him back to the house. He shifted once we got back to where we left our clothes. “I will be leaving for a couple hours, I have pack matters to deal with.” He stated and we headed back to the house.
“Is everything okay?” I asked. He ignored me, but at least he didn’t hit me. We walked into the house.
“Rem will be coming over.” He said.
“Okay,” I said. When Remmy got here, Alec shifted into his wolf and left. “Hey, sweetheart.” He kindly greeted me. I waved and asked, “You hungry?“.
He grinned at me, “That’s a stupid question, but only if you want to make food. I rented four movies for us.” They were all new releases.
Time seems to go by fast when I am with Remmy, and I could be myself. “I wanted to share something with you before I left. Alec will be here in five minutes” Rem paused the third movie.
“Ok,” I said turning to him. “So, there is a local witch in town that I know and trust. I haven’t contacted her for the simple reason that I want to talk to you first.” He started to explain, “Leah if your interested, her main element is fire she can teach you a couple things. She is a really good friend of mine.” He finished.
“Cool, I’m interested. Only because she can be trusted.” I looked at him. I can be really sketchy and paranoid at times. Alec walked in and Rem said, “That’s my cue to leave.” I made Alec and I dinner, even if it was late I was hungry and I’m sure he was too.
“Why do you try so hard, I’m never going to look at you as a mate.” I was a bit taken back by his words. I just finished making dinner, and I handed the plate to him while he was sitting on the couch.
“I’m not trying at all. I’m simply doing the things I love.” I calmly replied. “Too bad that no one loves you in return.” He was steady sipping on vodka. The bottle was almost gone.
“How drunk are you?” I asked concerned.
“None of your fucking business.” He growled.
“I’m just concerned about you,” I said.
“SHUT THE FUCK UP!” He yelled at me and threw his now-empty bottle at my face. It was going in such a quick motion I only had time to put my hand up. It shattered and glass cut my skin. Shards went everywhere, and I yelped out in pain. It’s only because he’s drunk, my inner she-wolf tried reasoning with me. I started taking the shards out of my arm, so I would be able to heal correctly.
Alec walked over to me with heavy strides. I already had a shard in my hand when he reached for my neck. I sliced his hand open in defense. I only let my guard done once with him and it won’t happen again. I didn’t think a mate could harm their other half, but he proved me wrong.
“You little bitch!” He cursed, but his hand had already healed.
He was visibly shaking and his eyes were flickering back and forth. I became slightly frightened only because I never faced an alpha quite like him. I ran out the back door and shifted into my blond wolf. I was a fast runner so I cut behind the house into the woods. I swiftly jumped over fallen trees and ran left to right trying to get him off my tail.
His wolf tackled me to the ground and I realized how stupid I was. I didn’t even know where I was going, all I did was make him angrier. His wolf stared at me intently and my wolf closed her eyes. It was completely silent except for the humming of birds and croaking of frogs. My wolf then wiggled out from underneath him. I shifted into my human form because there was no escaping. He changed and the first thing he did was grabbed me by the hair of my head. My first instinct was to punch him in the face. His nose started to bleed and it mixed with the sweat on his face, due to the fact that he had to chase me.
“I’m going to fucking kill you, you bitch!” He pounced on me and hit me twice. I did my best to block but then he grabbed me by the neck. He squeezed my neck as hard as he could. I tried to stay awake but it was impossible. I felt my face turned purple, and my vision was slowly fading
“Leah.” I heard a familiar melodic voice in my ears.
“Breakfast time sweetie.” Her voice was sweet like honey. I groggily opened my eyes and a white light blinded me.
“Mom?” I looked at her funny. “Blake?” I called out and looked around the room. Blood was on my hands. I panicked.
“Mom, is that you? Where are you?” I called out.
“Here sweetie.” A damp wet cloth was pressed on my forehead.
“Mom?” I questioned again.
“Honey?” A different voice was heard and it seemed more realistic.
“She’s awake.” Someone familiar said in the background.
“Fuck her.” I heard Alec’s voice followed by a door slamming shut. My eyes focused on middle age women.
“Where’s mom?” I questioned her and there was sadness in her eyes.
“Leah, you’re in a new pack with your new alpha." The women said. My eyes focused on the door in front of me. I saw Rem and Alec arguing outside the room. “Do you remember what happened?” The women asked me. I nodded my head and I wished I hadn’t.
“Rem saved your life. You could have died because Alpha was not going to stop.” She told me and by her tone, I could tell that she didn’t want me to repeat what she said.
“So he could have of killed me,” I repeated to myself. The door opened and I flinched.
“Hey.” Rem greeted me and Alec was nowhere to be found.
It was dark when Rem and I walked into his house. We both sat on his couch. “Hey, I’m sorry.” He looked at me intently. He had a certain look in his only that only mates should have. It quickly vanished.
“I’m here to help you, and I always will be. I just want to let you know.” He softly spoke while he packed a small bowl. “Thank you,” I said and we smoked a little.
“So I don’t think you’ll be attending the tournament for the rest of the week.” He stated the obvious. “I can contact the witch now if you’d like.” Rem said. I simply nodded my head, and the room filled with silence. I simply didn’t want to talk to anyone. He sighed and stood up to grab his phone. He finished the call and came to give me a long lasting hug. I first flinched when he touched me, but I soon relaxed to his touch. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.” He said. We spent the meantime just talking about how my old life used to be.
A light knock on the door was heard. A woman with deep auburn hair entered. “My sugar.” She exclaimed and grabbed his face. They greeted each other by a makeout session. I thought Rem said she was just a friend. I chuckled a little.
“An old flame that was extinguished. It’s probably for the best.” The women said and they both stared into each other’s eyes. They both started laughing.
“Ah, aren’t you a pretty little thing. You look oddly familiar.” She turned toward me. She studied me. “You know, water isn’t the only thing that can heal.” I was confused by her words.
“What?” I questioned.
“The marks on your neck and the bruise on your face.” She pointed out. “Oh, yeah those.” I forgot, for a minute, about what had happened.
“My name is Cevielle, please don’t tell me yours only for safety purposes. Do you have a candle Rem.”

“Goodbye. Aṭutta muṟai eṉ aṉpē." Cevielle opened the door.
“Aṭutta muṟai varai,” I replied.
“They taught you well,” Cevielle said then left.
“What was that?” Rem asked.
“Just an ancient language that most true blood witches used. She was testing me.” I explained without going into much detail. Some things are kept sacred in the witch world.
“The witch said that your powers could heal?” Rem asked. “Yeah, She said witches can only heal themselves with their own power unless you control water. However, water only heals minor things.” I said. My eyes became heavy, “I think I’m just going to go to bed okay. That was a lot of practicing and I’m very tired.” I told Rem. He handed me a blanket. I quickly passed out on his couch, not bothering to go upstairs.
The next morning I woke up in a bed, and I didn’t want to leave. I just stayed in the room and replayed last night’s events over in my head. The more I thought about it the more I began to feel depressed.
There was nothing to do about the situation. Rem attempted to come and try to cheer me up. I stayed in the room for almost three days. I had nothing to eat and no clothes to take a shower. Rem had tried to get me to eat but I refused every time. A light knock on the door was heard and Rem walked in. He had a set of clothes in his hand and a tray of food in the other.
“Okay, I’m tired of you moping around in this room by yourself. So we are going out today.” He said firmly. I sat up okay raised my eyebrows at him.
“Don’t look at me like that. Now here are some clothes and food. I’ll see you downstairs.” He said. I took a quick shower and ate some of the food on the tray, then I went to meet with Rem in the living room. When we got in Rem’s car he said I would have to duck and hide in the passenger. I didn’t question him and did as he instructed.
“Okay, it’s good now. We have left the property.” He said. I raised my seat up on the passenger side of his car.
“Now what was all of that about?” I asked.
“Well, we are going out of town to have some fun.” He turned on the music dodging the question. “Then why do I have to hide on the way out!” I yelled over the loud music.
“Simple the alpha doesn’t know.” He turned down the music.
I gasped, “Are you trying to kill me?”
He chuckled, “Relax. He went out of town for a business trip. But you never know who is spying for him.”
