Chapter 151
Chapter 151 Nancy, Look Carefully
Jennifer found herself unable to provide further explanation and bowed, offering an apology. “Mr. Foster, I apologize for lying.”
Ignoring her, Luke carried Linda and stepped into the elevator, leaving Jennifer awkwardly standing by the door.
In this tense moment, Shannon approached with a guilty look on her face. She cautiously asked, “Jennifer, what should we do?
Will Mr. Foster be angry at Linda like this?”
Jennifer replied uncertainly, “I don’t know if he’ll be angry at Linda, but he’s already angry at us.” After saying this, she casually
scratched her head. “For us, it’s bearable as long as Linda isn’t negatively affected.”
“Mr. Foster loves Linda so much; he probably won’t.”
Jennifer sighed, her experience in the complex world of the entertainment industry shaping her perspective. She reflected on the
blurred lines between reality and fiction in this world. Her request was simple-she just hoped Linda wouldn’t get hurt.
Without time to retrieve Nancy’s luggage, Nicholas carried her directly to his room. As he laid her on the bed, it became clear
that she was heavily intoxicated. As he was about to help her undress for a shower, a sudden realization hit him-they were no
longer a couple. This left him wondering how he could assist her with something as intimate as a shower.
As he was about to get up and find someone to help her with her shower, she unexpectedly reached out. She grabbed his tie
with her slender, fair hand, forcefully pulling him in front of her. Caught off guard, Nicholas found himself inches away from
Nancy. Their breaths mingled, and their noses nearly touched. Despite the close proximity, the sight of her features, particularly
her rosy and plump lips under the warm lamplight, instantly stirred his heart. He admitted to himself-he was in turmoil. It was a
complete mess.
In this intense moment, there was a palpable heat in the air, perhaps intensified by the alcohol. Nancy, still intoxicated, reached
out and began fumbling with her clothes as she hummed lightly. Her actions seemed casual, but the sounds escaping her lips
were like a potent elixir to Nicholas at that moment. He feared he might not be able to control himself.
Unaware of her own actions due to the alcohol, Nancy lay on the bed, breathing heavily. The flush on her face, intensified by the
alcohol, looked alluring and captivating under the gentle lamplight, accentuating her natural beauty. Her clothing pulled down at
her chest, further emphasizing her enticing curves.
Nicholas was tormented to the point of madness. His parched and restless state was further exacerbated by their close
proximity, as everything about her lay bare before his eyes. The intensity of the moment led him to lose all reason. His whispered
words of “Nancy” were followed by his impulsive lean to kiss her rosy lips.
As he leaned in for a kiss, Nancy abruptly slapped him across the face. Her hazy eyes fluttered open in disbelief, and she
wondered, Nicholas? What’s going on? Why is he here? She had intentionally drowned herself in alcohol, hoping to forget about
him and have a peaceful night’s sleep. Yet, there he was, his face blurrily swaying before her.
In her intoxicated state, Nancy reached out, patting Nicholas’ face, her slaps producing a loud smacking sound. As she
continued to pat him, she murmured, “You’re so annoying! Nicholas, why are you everywhere? Why do you keep showing up?”
Her words immediately darkened his expression, making him wonder if she wanted to avoid him even when she was drunk.
“Nicholas, do you know? You’re like a lingering ghost. Why can’t you leave me alone?” Her irritation was palpable, and she
couldn’t seem to shake his presence from her thoughts.
Nicholas, sensing her annoyance, grabbed her wrist and warned her with frustrated gritted teeth, “Nancy, look carefully. I’m a
person, not a ghost.”
She seemed momentarily taken aback by this revelation, her drunken stupor briefly interrupted. Then, she chuckled, her
inebriated mind refusing to believe it. “You can’t be a ghost. Ghosts aren’t so handsome. But how can you look exactly like
Nicholas? Who are you?”
Nicholas, frustrated beyond words, struggled to respond.
Nancy pouted in dissatisfaction when her demand for an answer went unanswered. She extended her hand and pushed
forcefully, reiterating her question, “Who are you? Who exactly are you?”
“I am Nicholas,” he said, his tone softening as he recognized that a gentler approach was needed to handle the situation.
Nancy smiled drowsily upon hearing this, her mood shifting erratically. She reached out and patted Nicholas’ face again,
mumbling, “Nicholas? Haha... You say you’re Nicholas?” In her state, she couldn’t comprehend how he could be her ex-
husband. “But how could you possibly be Nicholas? You’re so silly that you can’t even tell a lie,” she remarked, still baffled by the
situation.
He attempted to explain, “I didn’t lie; I am Nicholas.”
“You dummy. Nicholas is at home now! I’m in Swania; how could he be here?” she exclaimed, her intoxicated grin revealing her
amusement.
Gathering Nancy’s disheveled clothes, Nicholas struggled to suppress his impulses and then patiently explained, “You silly girl.
Can’t I...” He hesitated, his thoughts racing-Fly over here?
However, before he could finish his sentence, she suddenly lowered her arm, rolled over in bed, and began tossing and turning
while keeping her eyes closed. Even though her eyes were shut, she remained awake, clearly somewhat confused. She
continued to roll on the bed, holding onto a pillow, her pink and tender lips puckered as she murmured incessantly. “Linda, do
you know what? I actually saw a fake Nicholas just now. He even tried to deceive me, but luckily, I’m clever; otherwise, I would
have been fooled.”
As the real Nicholas stood by the bed, he couldn’t help but twitch his lips, utterly perplexed by how he ended up being mistaken
for a fake version of himself.
“Linda, your bed is incredibly soft and comfortable,” Nancy mumbled in her intoxicated state.
“Linda, you’re right. There are so many good men out there. Why should I tie myself to one person? You said you’d introduce a
boyfriend to me. I think the young hunk in your phone with the great physique is much better than Nicholas. How about you
introduce him to me?”
“Or maybe a mature man is okay. Mature men are caring. I feel like I might prefer a mature man. Why don’t you introduce me to
a mature man?”
“Hmm? Sister-brother romance is cute, too. What should I do? How about introducing a cute younger brother to me?”
“Linda, I believe they’re all great. What should I do? Could you please introduce all of them to me?”
She hoped that by considering different potential partners, she could distract herself from her ex- husband, Nicholas, who had
become such a bother.
“Naughty, please go away.”
“Please leave quickly.”
Every time Nancy thought of Nicholas, she would vigorously wave her hand, trying to dismiss the intrusive memories. It had
worked the first two times, but now, something was wrong. Her hand, seemingly paralyzed, couldn’t respond to her desperate
gestures. “Boohoo...” She panicked and cried out. “Naughty! Who is holding onto me? Let go of me. Let go of me immediately.”
