Chapter 49
Chapter 49
The man in front of Giselle had sharp eyes behind his glasses
Giselle glanced at him, feeling a bit puzzled However, the man simply shifted his gaze calmly, as if what she had felt was just
an illusion.
Giselle didn’t think much about it. She just felt that this person was a little strange.
Giselle put away her phone and returned to the room. Nora immediately asked, “So, will your husband come? He wouldn’t make up an excuse not to come, would he?”
Giselle sat down calmly and replied, “He’s busy with work tonight, so he doesn’t have time.”
“Is he really just busy, or does he not even exist? Why do you have to force yourself? It doesn’t matter, even if you admit it truthfully. No one will laugh at you…”
Nora taunted, “It’s better to be an honest person!”
Giselle responded coldly. “You’ve already assumed that I’m not married. You’ll probably think that I’m lying to you no matter what I say.”
“It’s not my fault.” Nora said confidently. “You got married so soon after breaking up with Mickey. How can you do that so fast? How can I believe you?”
“I don’t need to prove anything to you. If you think I’m lying, then just stick to your belief.”
Kila leaned over to whisper to Giselle, “What’s going on? Did you call Hymes? Is he coming?”
“I didn’t tell him,” Giselle whispered back.
“Why not?” Kila was confused, “It’s just a small matter…”
“There’s no need. He probably wouldn’t be happy if he knew.”
“Hymes shouldn’t be that petty. But if you think it’s a bad idea, leave it to me. As a lawyer, I didn’t just earn my credentials for nothing!”
After that, Kila patted the table and started to target Nora. “Hey Nora, how’s work lately?”
Nora hadn’t noticed the danger yet and answered proudly, “It’s okay. I just got a few print ads, and I’m going to collaborate with a top makeup brand.”
When everyone heard Nora’s words, they started to admire her. “You must have made a lot of money working with A–list brands, right?”
“What makeup brand is it? Will they give you lots of trial products?”
“Will you be working with a celebrity? Do you have a chance to meet my idol?”
After graduation, most members had ordinary jobs with monthly salaries, living a predictable life, which was very different from Norg’s.
Nora enjoyed being flattered, but before she could say anything, Kila began to barrage her with questions. “You’re doing so well. How much did you earn last year? Did you pay your taxes on time? Have you ever done any fraudulent promotions against your conscience? Are you secretly taking side jobs away from the company?”
Nora’s face darkened. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
Tm just asking you a few questions to show my concern so that you won’t do anything illegal. It wouldn’t be good if you were criticized or banned.”

Kila smiled sweetly, “Right, Giselle? Even Internet celebrities are subject to regulations, and they must abide by the law!”
“I didn’t do that!” Nora retorted angrily.
“It’s best if you don’t
“I didn’t do anything like that! Nora’s response lacked confidence because she knew very well whether she had violated the company’s contract or not.
Under the temptation of money, it was easy to have evil thoughts, and sometimes you couldn’t worry about your conscience
in order to earn money.
Therefore, the question that Kila had just asked was indeed something that Nora had always been afraid of being discovered by the company.
As soon as Nora avoided Kila’s gaze, Kila knew she had guessed correctly.
However, seeing that the atmosphere was not right, the head of the department quickly came out to mediate. All right, all right, let’s eat first. The food will get cold if we don’t eat it soon!”
Kila also felt that she shouldn’t waste such an expensive meal for such an annoying person and immediately focused on eating.
Giselle also had no intention of continuing the argument with Nora. As Nora didn’t target her due to guilt, the atmosphere finally returned to normal.
As Andy saw the person walk into the room, he dropped his pool cue and pointed to the champagne on the table, “Hurry up, punish yourself with three cups since you’re late.”
Neville Desmund pushed up his glasses and said calmly. “Three drinks are fine, but then Hymes will miss out on some important information he wants to know.”
Hymes was sitting lazily by the window with a gloomy expression on his face.
After hearing this, he asked lightly, “What does it have to do with me?”
Neville gave him a meaningful look. “I saw someone when I came here just now. She’s in this club.”
“Who?” Andy was curious.
Who was it that was related to Hymes and was important to him?
Hymes quietly looked at Neville, their eyes met, and a dark color gradually appeared in Hymes sharp eyes. “You saw her.”
Neville concisely stated, “I like talking to smart people.”
Hymes squinted as he immediately stood up and walked quickly towards Neville, “Where is she? Which room?”
Neville wasn’t in a hurry anymore. He said leisurely, “As a reward for giving you important information…”
He didn’t need to say more. Hymes directly took a key from his pocket, “Pick any car in the garage.”
These words not only made Neville, who always loved cars but even Andy excited. “Can I also go and pick one? I’ll pay, as long as you give me those treasures that you’ve been collecting”
Hymes sneered, “Can you give me equally important information?”
Andy was speechless. He really couldn’t.

Chapter 49
Andy hadn’t even met Hymes‘ beloved one. How could he provide important information?
Neville finally revealed a faint smile. I met her in the corridor earlier when she was on the phone. The person she was talking to should be you.”
Andy exclaimed, “Wow, you’re so lucky.”
He was very jealous. Why wasn’t he the lucky one?
Hymes coldly replied, “It was me.”
“Well then, you two probably had an unpleasant conversation just now, but I think she probably really needs you to appear.”
As the most well–known lawyer in the economic crime field, Mr. Desmund had amazing observational skills. He could tell what was on Giselle’s mind from her hesitant expression and fleeting disappointment.
However, Hymes might not be able to hear the hidden emotions in Giselle’s voice.
After Neville finished speaking, he looked at Hymes‘ complicated expression and reported the room number he had remembered.
In order to find out which room Giselle was in, Neville had secretly followed her all the way, fortunately, without being noticed.
Hymes nodded in gratitude. Without any hesitation, he strode out of the room.
Andy raised his eyebrows at Neville and said, “Let’s go watch the fun.”
