the call, but he prevented me.

"Rosie, please do not hang up... I understand I angered you. Tell me your location; I shall come to you."

His voice was gentle, attempting to convince me that he was apologizing.

Then, another voice rang out, "My love, who is calling? It has been some time."

That was like a thunderbolt to Grant. I replied, "No one. It is of no

consequence."
