With solid proof, the case was soon solved. The several fugitive accomplices were all caught.

One of them gave Wendy out.

“I’ll confess. Can I have a chance to reduce my sentence?

“Wendy gave me 10,000 dollars to find fault with Violet. I knew nothing else.”

He dropped out of school early and used to hang out with Wendy.

He was one of the people who made it look like I had bullied Wendy back then.

Finally, the truth came to light.

My mom couldn’t take it. She started to have mental disorders and couldn’t sleep without taking a lot of pills every day.

She grabbed Wendy hysterically and asked loudly, “Why? Why did you do that to Violet?

“She was your sister! How could you be so cruel?”

Wendy pushed her away and said, “It was you who sent her to that agency, not me. It was you who got her killed. It had nothing to do with me.

“I never said she bullied me. You thought so yourself.

“You said you loved me the most. Don’t forget. After she’s dead, I’m your only daughter. If you send me to prison, I’ll hate your forever.”

Wendy’s face was beautiful, but now it was twisted and frightening.

My mom looked at her in disbelief, unable to say a word.

She knew all of this was because of her.

She favored Wendy thoroughly and never trusted me, which led to today’s situation.

She had nothing to say.

My dad was impatient. He said to my mom, “She’s dead. So what? You never liked her. Stop thinking so much.

“Look at yourself. You look like a crazy person. You won’t cook or do the laundry. I have nothing to eat after I come back every day. “She’s dead. What do you want? You want all of us to die to be with her? Tomorrow we’ll go and sign the settlement agreement, and the three of us will still live as happily as before.”

He spoke slowly and calmly, without any emotion, as if he was talking about a stranger.

He was so cold–blooded.

My mom seemed to be convinced and took a rest before starting to buy groceries and cook.

She started to take care of Wendy and my dad again.

But when it was time to leave in the morning, my dad and Wendy both collapsed to the floor.

“What are you doing?”

My mom didn’t say a word. She walked towards the windows and then closed every window in the house.

Then she went to the kitchen and turned on the gas.
