Chapter 21

Roy sat in his car parked just outside his house, thinking to himself.

He hasn't wronged the moon goddess in anyway, at least there's none he can think of, so why was he being punished?

The rumors of him being cursed was spreading like wild fire and he was slowly losing his mind because he could do nothing about it.

If it were up to him, he wouldn't be this bothered by the rumors and just accept his fate, but the problem was his authority was being questioned as the alpha of the blue moon pack because he couldn't get them a Luna. He had to retrain himself from tearing apart those who questioned his authority by locking himself away from everyone for several days until his wolf calmed down.

He can't kill his pack members with his own hands, that would be him going contrary to what he stood for as an Alpha.

His dad died while protecting his pack from rogues, so caring for his pack was his priority no matter what and he isn't going to do anything contrary to that.

He knew his pack members were only getting frustrated because they're scared that pack is going to fall apart if he doesn't have a mate by his side to guide him when necessary.

He was willing to tolerate their excesses even though it was going to be difficult to control his wolf, preventing it from hurting a pack member and using that person as an example for others to learn from.

Roy had promised himself that if things get too extreme, he would have no choice but to take a severe action, so no one in the future would even dare to think of overthrowing him as an alpha of his pack.

With that resolution being made, he got out of his truck.

Roy sensed that something was different about his surrounding, but he couldn't actually decipher what it was or why he felt that way.

After taking a look around his surrounding one last time, he headed for his front door but it was locked, he tried again but got the same result. He didn't recall locking his door this morning before leaving.

The fact was, he never locks his door because no one would dare to come without his knowledge or permission, so this was quite strange.

He tried opening the door one last time just to be certain, when suddenly his nose caught an unfamiliar scent. He slowly stepped away from the door.

Someone is here, he could tell by the scent but who could it be? He wondered, walking towards the back door, it was opened to his relief.

On entering the kitchen where his back door led to, he noticed that nothing was out of place, so he decided to check the living room

As soon as he got to the living room, the unfamiliar scent became stronger. He glanced around the room and saw that everything was in order, but a deep sense of unease consumed him for not being able to find where the scent was coming from.

He could feel his wolf getting excited, but he wondered why?

Hs eyes flickered from yellow to grey as he tried to prevent his wolf from taking control.

This went on for about two minutes until he saw a figure on the floor, just by the door. He was speechless and breathless at the same time and couldn't understand what and why he felt this way. It was like he heart suddenly stopped beating as he stared at the figure on the floor.

She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen with her long black hair, which was all over the place, covering her face in the process, making him tempted to run his hand through it. The sight of her soft tanned skin set his whole body on fire while his wolf jumped for joy, repeating the word “Mate’.

Roy could tell she was exhausted from the position she was in, but how the hell did a human get in here? He wondered

His wolf didn't care about that, all it wanted to do was go to her and claim her as his. Roy wouldn't let his wolf control him.

This is impossible! She's human, how could he be mated to a human?

This has never happened in the history of werewolves, not to mention Alphas. So, why would it begin with him?

Was his wolf even sure of what it was feeling right now? Or could it be that his recent worries of finding his mate was affecting both their senses?

This thought made Roy's wolf upset. He didn’t bother apologizing to his wolf because he can't be mated to a human. They were cruel beings who only think of themselves.

He could never forgive them for what they did to him, which is why this stranger can't be his mate. #

"What the hell do you mean by, she isn't with you?!” Hugh yelled, pinning his beta by the throat against the wall.

Donald tried to say something, but he couldn't as he was being choked to death.

Luckily for him, his alpha noticed his discomfort and let go of his neck, dropping him harshly on the floor.

He couldn't stop coughing after Hugh let go of his throat.

"Don’t waste my time, Donald. Start talking.” Hugh growled, already irritated by his betas action. "W-we c-couldn't catch her a-alpha. She ran into the blue moon pack.” Donald explained still holding his throat.

“So, you're trying to tell me that a female out ran you?” Hugh asked. Donald didn’t know how to answer to that.

"Answer me God damnit!” his Alpha yelled, making him flinch.

His beta noticed how Hugh's furs sprouted from his face, with his canines emerging from under his lips in a half shift.

Donald didn't need to upset his Alpha a second more because his wolf was gradually gaining control. He could understand its anger, as his mate was close by but yet he couldn't reach her, that's like death itself to a werewolf.

“I'm sorry I let you down, Alpha.” He apologized with his head low.

“Let this mistake not repeat itself again.” He warned through gritted teeth.

“But Alpha, there has been a treaty by both packs for years now, not to trespass into each other's territory. How-"

“If you want your family to still be among the living, you'll bring my mate to me.” He threatened cutting his beta off.

“Y-yes a-alpha.” Donald nervously replied, not wasting any more second in his alpha's office.
