Chapter 1437
When Mason finally put down his phone, he let out a subtle sigh of relief. Since arriving in North America a few days ago, Tiffanie seemed to be making progress, albeit slowly.
Her therapist had called, mentioning she was still a bit resistant. "She seems to trust only you right now, willing to share her thoughts and feelings. If you keep engaging with her and reassure her that she's safe, she might start to improve." "But, Mr. Mason, that's only if you don't grow weary of the situation."
It's human nature, after all. Initially, a sense of duty keeps you going. But over time, even the most patient partners can feel overwhelmed. Everyone has their own life to live, their own battles to fight. Sooner or later, they start to feel drained, just like Lewis mentioned. Mason pondered for a moment before asking, "So, you're saying if I stick by her, she'll get better?"
As long as he doesn't let go, she'll get back on her feet?
"Yes, Tiffanie has started eating again," the therapist replied.
A wave of relief washed over Mason, warmth flooding his eyes. "I understand. I'll stick by her, no matter what."
The therapist didn't offer any more opinions. He had seen many cases like this. Often, partners would start the journey together but end up parting ways by the end of it. Relationships are supposed to enrich your emotional life. If all you get is negativity, it's only natural to think about leaving.
He wasn't sure where Mason would end up. But considering Tiffanie's past, full of sorrow and despair, he hoped she'd have someone to stand by her.
By the time Mason returned to Beaconsfield, Tiffanie was there to pick him up. She had been waiting outside for a while before she finally saw Mason emerge. Spotting him, she leaped up and waved excitedly. Seeing her bouncing around, Mason felt a rush of relief. He grabbed his suitcase and headed over with brisk steps.
"Mason!"
Her face lit up with a smile. When he got close, she found herself in a warm hug. Mason kissed her neck, suitcase in one hand, her hand in the other.
"I thought I told you not to wait for me."
"I got bored at home," she replied with a playful whine, tugging at his shirt.
"Mason, let's go on a trip. Maxie gave me loads of money, said I could spend my whole life and never run out."
Mason was about to reflect on the kindness within the Dorsey family. Max, usually cold and detached towards others, seemed genuinely caring towards his own. Without that sliver of warmth from Max Tiffanie might not have made it through her darkest moments. Countless times, she stood on the brink, only to step back, thinking of Max.
"Where do you want to go?" Mason asked, leading her to the car, his voice soothing.
Caught off guard, Tiffanie couldn't immediately reply. "How about we chase the Northern Lights?"
Her eyes sparkled at the suggestion, and she hugged him tightly. "Yes, that sounds amazing."
Mason, seeing her smile, felt a wave of affection. Despite Lewis's warnings, the thought of leaving Tiffanie never truly crossed his
mind. It wasn't about others who
might choose to walk away; it was
about the joy Tiffanie brought him, making every challenge worth facing.
After deciding on the Northern
Lights, Mason began to plan their
adventure. Tiffanie wasn't much for planning, her strengths lying
elsewhere. Her main pastime was chatting with Max, despite his usual indifference.

"Maxie, Mason's taking me to see the Northern Lights!"
"Is that so? That's wonderful."
"It must be cold there, and I've heard only the lucky ones catch a glimpse of the aurora."
"Yes."
"Mason's working out the details. We'll pack plenty of warm clothes. I'll take lots of pictures for you." "No need."
"Maxie, talking to you makes me really happy."
"As long as you're happy."
Content, Tiffanie set aside her phone, diving back into travel discussions with Mason.
