Marry My Ex's Sworn Enemy (Sonya)

Chapter Sworn Enemy Novel 102

Chapter 102: Let's Get a Divorce

"Help... help..."

A weak cry

for help came from behind. Sophia strained to look back, seeing Candace also hanging upside down, miraculously not flung out. A slight relief washed

over

her.

"Three of us, guess who he'll save first?" Brenda asked, her voice laced with manic anticipation. "Crazy woman!" Sophia gritted her teeth.

"You're curious, aren't you?" Brenda turned to Sophia, then sighed. "We both know, if he can only save one, he'll save Candace, even if she's just Zoey Smith's stand-in." Talking to a lunatic was pointless.

Sophia tugged at her seatbelt, trying to unbuckle it, but it was jammed. Any forceful movement would send the car sliding faster.

Just as she was at her wit's end, Henry appeared above.

"Henry, I'm here!" Brenda yelled first.

"Mr. Sterling, save me, please, I'm so scared!" Candace wailed.

Sophia held her breath. Then, Henry's voice cut through the air.

"Honey, don't worry, I'm here."

She turned and saw him crouched outside the front window, staring at her.

Tears welled up in Sophia's eyes. "Honey."

Henry grinned. "If you're scared, call me 'honey' a few more times."

"Be serious!"

A serious Henry pulled out a knife and began cutting her seatbelt. But halfway through, the car started sliding again.

"Stop, stop! Call for help first, wait for the rescue team."

Sophia fought to stay calm. Henry might be able to save her, but only her. What about Brenda. and Candace? "They won't get here in time."

"Then call the film crew, have them send more people."

Henry continued cutting, I'm not stupid, I already called."

"You're still cutting!"

"The car's still sliding. If I don't get you out, you'll go down with them.

"But..."

"No buts. I can only save you." Henry kept cutting.

*Mr. Sterling, please save me first!" Candace begged.

"Henry, it doesn't matter if you don't save me, you should save Candace! Look at her! Doesn't she look like Zoey Smith?" Brenda screamed hysterically. Henry was terrifyingly calm, his eyes on Sophia, and Sophia only.

"You said it yourself, Zoey Smith is dead."

Brenda's eyes lit up."You remember her! You remember, right?"

Henry ignored her and continued working. The car had slid considerably lower. "Henry, don't worry about me, get out of there, you'll go down too!" Sophia urged. The car was at an angle; if it went over, it would take Henry with it.

Henry smirked. "Then that plot of land we bought for a burial site will finally be useful."

"Henry!"

Olivorddenly, the seatbelt snapped. At the same time, the car accelerated downwards. At the last possible second, Henry pulled Sophia free.

"Henry, save me!"

"Mr. Sterling, save me!"

Brenda and Candace plunged into the ocean with the car, their cries quickly swallowed by the

waves.

Sophia gasped, staring down at the wreckage.

The film crew arrived. Henry pointed to the wreckage and told them to try to rescue them.

He helped Sophia climb onto the road. Seeing her gaze fixed on the ocean, he turned her face and kissed her.

"You're not to blame. Don't feel guilty."

Sophia shook her head. Guilty wasn't the word; it was two lives. But in that moment of urgency, with the car still sliding, Henry could only save one. He chose her.

Her forehead wound wasn't serious; she cleaned it herself and waited for the rescue team and police. After giving their statements, she and Henry left.

She didn't ask, didn't want to know what happened to Brenda and Candace.

She was discharged from the hospital after two days and went home, only to find Henry working late every night.

Lucy visited her, and Sophia learned that Brenda had died and Candace had miraculously

survived.

Sophia fell silent. She wasn't sure if she should feel sorry for Brenda; she only knew her death was pointless. "They say she had a mental breakdown, was on medication,"

Lucy said.

Sophia frowned. Brenda had truly gone mad for Henry. It was terrifying. "Why weren't you at the studio?" Sophia asked.

Lucy shrugged."Production's shut down. Probably won't reopen."

Sophia understood. With Brenda gone, the fallout would be huge.

"Don't worry, I'll help you sort out your contract with SkyCloud, then find you other work," Sophia reassured Lucy. Lucy shook her head. "I can figure it out. You need to rest."

It's just a minor injury"

Lucy mentioned going back to the inland tomorrow, that Director Lee had asked them so cutters, their belongings.

Sophia fell silent for a moment, then took off the ring from her ring finger and handed it to bey asking her to put it in the metal box inside the tree hollow when she went to the island.

That's your wedding ring Why would you put it in some metal box Lucy was confured. Sophia shook her head. 'It's not my wedding ring,"

"Oh, it wasn't from Henry?"

"No."

It was his ring for Zoey Smith, and after knowing the truth, she couldn't wear it. It was abourd Henry worked late again that night. Sophia went to bed early.

In the middle of the night, she groggily felt around the bed, finding it empty. Sophia opened her eyes, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, before getting up and going to the small living room. Henry was sitting on the sofa, smoking. He was still in his white shirt, freshly home from work, but the ashtray

overflowing with cigarette butts.

"Did you eat dinner?" she asked, walking over.

Henry saw her, quickly extinguishing his cigarette and waving away the smoke. He reached out, but Sophia bypassed him, sitting on the opposite sofa.

He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head and giving a

I'm sorry, these past few days..."

"You've been avoiding me."

She didn't like his lies, so she said it for him.

Henry was stunned, then lowered his head.

"I don't want to lie to you, but my head's a mess. I need some time."

"You remembered her, didn't you?"

Henry was silent for a moment."Yes, I remembered."

his forehead, frustrated. I can't believe I forgot.

Sophia's heart sank. Just like Brenda said, he'd suddenly remember and then stab the person next to him. Then he'd forget again, charming another woman into oblivion, but the woman he stabbed, she wouldn't forget. The wound would keep hurting, keep bleeding. Until she went crazy....

"Henry, let's get a divorce."
