Chapter 11
Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 11
Simon laughed. "It's the first time I was rejected for such an ingenious reason."
Lumma smiled. "Should I feel honored?"
Simon said, "The more you are like this, the more interested I am in you
"The more you are like this, the more I dislike you." Lumma stopped smiling and said solemnly, "Mr. Mills, I have no interest in you. Don't waste your time on me."
Simon was amused by Lumma's remarks. "Lumma, you are quite similar to Adamn. You are embarrassingly straightforward and never care about others' feelings when you reject them." Lumma said, "I don't think you feel embarrassed."
Simon was speechless.
How could that be?
Simon lost to Lumma in the debate.
"As a host, you don't entertain guests but hide here and chat with my assistant."
There came Adam's deep voice behind them.
Lumma turned and saw Adam standing a few steps behind them. She didn't know how long he had been there and what he had heard.
Her arrogance disappeared in an instant, and she obediently walked to him, "Mr. Hills..."
Lumma became obedient in an instant. Simon found it even more amusing. "Adam, your always bullies me. You should teach her a lesson."
assistant
"Have you bullied Mr. Mills?" Adam questioned in a cold voice, but a smile touched the corners of his mouth.
"I haven't." Lumma shook her head. "How dare I bully Mr. Mills in his territory?"
Simon didn't mind causing trouble. "Adam, do you believe her or me?"
"You are the host, and she is the guest." Adam didn't say who he believed, but the meaning in his words was obvious. Even if Lumma bullied Simon, as the host, Simon had to bear it. Simon clicked his tongue. "Adam, you have changed. You value your lover more than friends."
"How could that be?" Stewart came over with a glass of wine and joined the chat.
When Stewart sw Lumma, he became slightly sullen. "Why are you here?"
Lumma didn't know what to say.
She hadn't offended Stewart. Every time they met, he was unfriendly. Lumma didn't know what she owed him.
Adam raised his eyebrow. "Do I have to ask your opinion on who should come here with me?"
Stewart smiled awkwardly. "Adam, that's not what I meant."
Simon smoothed things over. "Stewart, since you're here, let's have a drink."
"Mr. Hills, you can't drink tonight." Adam just stopped taking medicine. Before Adam went to the banquet, Laura called Lumma a few times, telling her not to allow Adam to drink. Lumma also knew that and dared not to be careless.
Simon clicked his tongue again. "Adam, why is your assistant as strict as your wife?"
Lumma glared at him. "Mr. Mills, no one will think you are dumb if you don't talk nonsense."
Simon said, "Adam, look, she bullied me again."
Adam said, "I'm not in the mood to drink. Let's play something else."
Hearing that, Lumma was relieved.
Simon asked, "Dancing? Playing cards? Do you want to play something exciting?"
Adam wasn't interested in that. It was Antony and Kaley's golden wedding banquet, and he couldn't leave early, so he chose at random. "Let's play cards."
Simon said, "Okay, there are just four of us."
They left the noisy banquet hall and came to the card room. Lumma knew how to play cards but was not good at it, so she lost every time.
Harry and Ruby always laughed at Lumma. They said she was like a fool when she played cards.
Simon seemed to be interested in that. "How much do you want to lose?"
Lumma had seen rich people playing cards, and it was common for them to lose a house in one night. She hadn't got enough down payment yet, so she couldn't afford to lose. "Mr. Hills, I don't want to play. Can you find someone else?"
Simon said, "Adam, don't spoil her. Otherwise, she will bully you someday."
Adam didn't say a word, and Lumma understood what he meant, so she could only obediently sit by the table.
Stewart glanced at Lumma from time to time. "Let's play truth or dare"
Simon said, "I agree. Adam, dare you?"
Adam glanced at Lumma, and Lumma nodded vigorously. "As long as I don't have to lose money, I will accompany you to the end."
Simon was amused by Lumma. "You didn't want to play because you were afraid of losing money. Look at the three of us. Who cares about winning your money?" Lumma said nothing.
She knew they were rich, but was it necessary to say that?
At the beginning of the game, Stewart targeted Lumma.
Lumma was speechless.
Simon said, "Stewart, can't you be tender toward girls?"
Stewart glanced at Lumma. "I don't treat Ms. Louis as a girl. As Adam's assistant, she is capable.
She doesn't need my tenderness."
There was nothing wrong with Stewart's words, but he emphasized "Adam's assistant" as if reminding Lumma of her identity.
Lumma never felt that she was inferior to others, so she continued to play cards without saying a word.
After several rounds, Lumma lost, and Stewart won.
Simon looked at Lumma and said with a smile, "Truth or dare?"
Lumma said, "Truth."
Simon asked, "Is what you told me tonight true? Or is it an excuse to reject me?"
Lumma said, "It's true."
Stewart said, "I am the winner, so I should ask a question. Ms. Louis, Adam..."
Simon interrupted him, "Stewart, I've asked a question. If you want to ask another, you have to win her in the next game."
Then, the game continued. Lumma couldn't feel the turmoil on the table.
She only knew Adam had won and that Stewart had lost.
Stewart smiled helplessly, "Adam, why do you have to win against me?"
Adam didn't answer the question. "Truth or dare?"
Stewart said, "Truth."
Simon wanted to ask but saw Adam's warning eyes. He looked at Lumma. "Ms. Louis, you have a chance."
Lumma didn't stand on ceremony. "Mr. Morris, we didn't know each other before. Why do you dislike me? I am just an assistant."
Stewart didn't expect Lumma to be so blunt. His face turned dark with embarrassment. "Ms. Louis, how could you misunderstand me?"
Stewart didn't want to answer, and Lumma didn't want to get an answer either. She just wanted to remind Stewart that there was no need to dislike her because she was just an assistant and couldn't threaten him.
The game continued, Adam won again, and the loser was Simon.
Simon took the initiative to say, "I choose to tell the truth. If you want to know my secrets, I will tell you everything I know."
Adam and Stewart were not interested in Simon's secrets. They all looked at Lumma.
Lumma was happy to do that. "Mr. Mills, the entertainment news said that you were dating Jessica, the goddess in the show biz. Is that true?”
Harry liked Jessica very much, so Lumma asked the question for him.
Simon said, "I just got off her bed this morning. Do you think it's true or not?"
Lumma was stunned.
She didn't expect Simon to be so blatant.
Jessica's studio just issued an announcement to sue the rumor-mongering accounts.
It turned out that the studio's announcement was unbelievable.
Simon asked, "Why did you ask this? Didn't you say that you were not interested in me? Do you like me secretly?"
Lumma snorted.
Then, Adam won several times against Simon Lumma asked a lot of questions and was happy.
Adam glanced at her a few times and didn't understand why she was happy.
Simon muttered, "Come on I don't believe Adam is so lucky that he beat me every time."
Alam lifted his glasses and said peacefully, "As long as I don't want to lose, no one can win."
Simon said, "You have lost before. What are you bragging abou
In the next few rounds, Adam told Simon with facts that no one could win as long as he didn't want to lose.
Lumma couldn't help casting an admiring gaze at Adam. Adam was so amazing
Simon began to act shamelessly. "Adam, you have to answer me a question even if you win to make up for my hurt."
Without waiting for Adam's promise, Simon asked, "Just tell us how you and your wife are doing?"
