Married at First Sight

Chapter 2057

It was because Camryn could not see.
She recognized people based on their scent, voice, and footsteps.
However, these characteristics could easily be imitated. She would fall into a trap if she let her guard down even a little.
She almost fell into a trap this time. She smelled the scent of tobacco when she got into the car with the person whom she
thought was Callum. Only then she realized that the person talking to her was not Callum.
Callum rarely smoked, and there would be no hint of tobacco in his car.
“Yes, he was disguised as you. His voice, footsteps, and even the scent on his body were very similar to yours. I think he must
have been secretly observing our every move and deliberately imitating you. As for the scent on your body, you occasionally use
men’s cologne. Once they find out the brand of cologne you use, it’s easy to solve the scent issue.”
Callum said, “It must be your two aunts scheming behind the scenes. People from the two families are often active near your
flower shop.”
As he spoke, he went behind Camryn and embraced her. In a deep voice, Callum said, “Camryn, will you listen to me from now
on? Until your vision is restored, let the bodyguards accompany you. I don’t want today’s incident to happen again.
“Even if you realize that something is wrong afterwards, you can’t see. It will be difficult to escape. You were fortunate that
Serenity happened to be at the company and encountered the incident. It’s even luckier that she knows martial arts and was able
to save you. Otherwise, if they had taken you into the car, even if the bodyguards noticed something was amiss, they would have
been slow to react, and it would have been difficult to rescue you.”
After releasing Camryn, Callum massaged her and used it as an opportunity to alleviate the pain in the back of her neck.
“By the way, do you have any ointment in your room? I’ll help you apply some.”
“It’s okay. It will stop hurting in a while.
“It was very dangerous today. If it weren’t for the tobacco smell in their car, I would have been deceived. The bodyguards you
arranged saw that I willingly got into the car and wouldn’t suspect anything. The consequences would have been unimaginable.”
Camryn could imagine the consequences.

She could not see anything.
To make matters worse, she was a girl.
If she fell into the hands of an evil person, chances were that she would get defiled by them.
If that happened, she would not even know the identity of the culprit.
What if this was arranged by her two aunts, who were actively trying to ruin her life? If she were to lose her purity, would she
have a future with Callum?
Even if Callum would not give her up, she would not be able to live with herself.
“From now on, I’ll follow your lead.”
Camryn realized how scary it was in retrospect, and how worried Callum must have been.
Callum bent down, kissed her on the cheek, and said, “If they dare to lay a hand on you, I won’t let them off easily.”
“They are shameless rascals. We need to have solid reasoning and evidence to be able to have an upper hand. Even if we knew
that they would often loiter around my shop, we can’t do anything if we didn’t have proof that they were the culprit. They could
easily refute.”
“Don’t worry about it, I will only act after researching and gathering conclusive evidence.”
Callum’s voice deepened, and he said coldly, “They are your relatives. I initially thought that even though the relationship
between you and them had soured, I just let them be out of respect for you.
“But if they really dare to lay a hand on you, I will not forgive them.”
“As it stands now, there’s no way for us to report them to the police.”
Camryn remarked casually, “If we had proof, the most we can do is give them a warning.”
With a cold gaze, Callum uttered, “If I want to deal with them, I can think of a thousand ways. You don’t have to worry about this,
I’ll deal with it.”
He would let the Chandlers and Joyners suffer devastating consequences, rendering them unable to stay in Wiltspoon for long.

“Don’t blame the bodyguards. It was not their fault, I was the one who underestimated this matter.”
Worried that Callum would punish them, Camryn covered for the bodyguards who protected her in the dark.
“If you don’t want me to punish them, you’ll have to follow whatever I say with regard to your safety.”
Camryn stuttered, “...aaand now you’re threatening me.”
