Married at First Sight

Chapter 2039

A hint of coldness flashed across Madam Fisher’s eyes.
Celine actually believed in the words she spoke casually.
Caroline was her biological daughter, at least.
Although Celine was innocent, she had to pay for her father’s sins.
Madam Fisher concealed her coldness and consoled Celine gently, “Alright. Don’t cry. He’s the third young master of the Yorks.
Isn’t it normal that he didn’t treat you politely?
“Stop crying. Your makeup is all smudged from crying. You should go to the lounge to touch it up later.”
Madam Fisher sighed. She added, “Cece, even though we’re considered a wealthy family in Jensburg, we’re not in the top class.
The Queen family has a higher status than us, but they can’t compare to the York family in Wiltspoon. There aren’t many top-
class wealthy families like the Yorks.
“You ignored my advice not to offend Kevin and did it anyway. I can help you if it were other people, but I can’t do anything if the
person is Kevin.”
“Mom.”
Feeling aggrieved, Celine said, “You used to help me no matter what I did in the past.”
“I told you already that I can avenge you if the other party isn’t Kevin. Even I have to be courteous to Kevin, so how can I help
you? Moreover, you were the one who started the fight this time. Would he have called someone to chase you out if you didn’t hit
him?”
Celine pouted and said, “I just couldn’t stand him pulling my Mr. Right into the hotel.”
“Why would you pick a fight when Mr. Queen didn’t show any resistance? If he truly doesn’t want to be involved with Kevin, he
definitely has many ways to get out of the situation. Why can’t you see that Mr. Queen actually has feelings for Kevin?”
Celine immediately became agitated. “Mom, how could you say that? Mr. Queen is a man. Why will he possibly have feelings for
Kevin? It’s Kevin who’s shameless. He’s gay and pursues whoever he fancies. He only thinks for himself and isn’t considerate of
others.

“Mr. Queen despises him, and so do the elite ladies of Jensburg. I don’t know how the York family raised such a brazen person.
To think that the York family is known for their family culture. How good can their culture be if a person as shameless as Kevin
comes from that family?
“Mom, are you refusing to help me because Caroline likes Mr. Queen too? Mr. Queen is much nicer to Caroline than he is to me.
You’re not helping me because you think there’s a higher chance of Caroline and Mr. Queen getting together, right?”
In a flash of anger, Caroline questioned Madam Fisher’s love for her and accused Madam Fisher of being biased toward
Caroline, the biological daughter.
“You raised me from when I was born until I’m twenty-eight, Mom. I’m your daughter!”
A hint of iciness flashed across Madam Fisher’s eyes again, but no anger showed in her expression. She got up and walked
around the office table to Celine’s side. After taking a piece of tissue, she wiped Celine’s tears affectionately.
“Alright. Don’t cry. You’re my daughter. I’ve always treated you as my biological daughter. I’m hurt by the way you accused me
just now.”
Celine knew she was being irrational with what she said earlier.
Although she was still loved by the Fisher family, her status was gradually becoming inferior compared to Caroline’s.
She was aware that she would only have the opportunity to get everything back by grabbing onto her mother’s love for her.
Otherwise, she could only watch as Caroline took over as the successor.
“I’m sorry, Mom. I made a mistake with my words just now.”
“We’re mother and daughter. There won’t be a grudge between us. I’m not angry. I know that you like Mr. Queen. I disapproved
of you pursuing him before because you’re the heir of the Fisher family.”
