Chapter 2831 Guests From The Montirian Royal Family
The banquet continued until all eyes turned to Lilia as she entered the hall. Her stunning beauty and attractive figure captivated many male guests, while her role as Prince Gadel's trusted aide added to the intrigue.
"Mr. Larson, His Highness and Mr. Tyga couldn't make it here due to the need to deal with the generous gift from you. Therefore, I am here to represent them."
With General Weaver's passing, Gadel had taken over his position, leading to a need for him and Tyga to rearrange their plans.
"Mr. Larson, it's been several days since we last met. Have you missed me?" Lilia leaned closer to Matthew's cheek as she spoke, her lips almost touching his ear.
"Miss Lilia, it's not appropriate to behave like this in public. If there's anything, you can talk to my buddy here." Faced with this woman who enjoyed playing with fire, Matthew redirected her attention to the crown prince.
Lilia was taken aback by Matthew's response. As she stared blankly at the crown prince, he arrogantly lifted his chin. "I'm awesome!" He even provocatively raised his eyebrows after making that statement. Although Lilia was young, she was not naive. She immediately understood the crown prince's innuendo. After cursing inwardly, she blushed and lowered her head, instantly attracting a group of eager men with her bashful demeanor.
However, Matthew knew that she was merely pretending. She was a mischievous woman.
Seeing that the joke had gone far enough, Lilia steered the conversation back to the main point. "Mr. Larson, His Highness asked me to remind you to be careful. According to the information we received, Prince Toby might come after you."
Matthew was unfazed by this news. Let him come after me if he wants to. Am I supposed to be afraid?
"Prince Garrett of Montiria has arrived!"
The sudden announcement interrupted their conversation. Lilia knew that Garrett also had a strong desire to win over Matthew. After all, it couldn't be helped that the Summit Warden's identity held great significance. Nevertheless, she calmly stepped aside without seeing much. With Matthew's wisdom, he didn't need her reminder.
Meanwhile, whispers erupted at the scene.
"Prince Garrett actually came in person. Isn't it said that Matthew has a good relationship with Prince Gadel?"
"Why does it matter to you? This just shows how powerful our chairman is. Even the princes of Montiria show him respect."
"Amazing!"
Amid the murmurs of the crowd, Garrett, accompanied by two expert bodyguards, approached Matthew. Despite being a prince, Garrett didn't put on any airs. His tone and demeanor were approachable. "Mr. Larson, congratulations! You left Gadel's previous banquet in a hurry, so I didn't have a chance to have a good drink with you." He expressed regret, shaking his head.
It was hard to dislike someone who smiled at you. Moreover, at Gadel's previous banquet, if it weren't for Garrett, Eleanor would have been in trouble. Garrett's mention of the banquet actually served as a subtle reminder of that.
"Welcome, Your Highness, for gracing our humble banquet with your presence. I didn't have a chance to properly thank Your Highness for your help last time. Let's make up for it today!"
Garrett replied with a smile, "Mr. Larson, you're being modest. If this is considered a humble banquet, then we wouldn't even dare to hold one."
Their conversation was calm and warm, like that of two old friends who hadn't seen each other in years, subtly expressing their respect for one another. "Greetings, Prince Garrett!"
Garrett responded to Lilia's respectful salute with a slight nod. He showed neither displeasure nor favor, simply acknowledging her gesture.
