Chapter 2820 Appointing Leanna To Manage The Commercial Union
The establishment of the commercial union was met with great enthusiasm, thanks to the impressive founding members such as the Far Ocean Group, Original Group, the renowned Zedler Family, the influential Enzo Gavell, and the rising star Solon Durham from the Durham Family. With their support and the highly profitable products on offer, it was no surprise that everyone was eager to join. Who would pass up such a golden opportunity?
Matthew observed the eager participants joining and felt a sense of relief. The formation of the commercial union was now assured.
Of course, not everyone shared the same level of enthusiasm. It was inevitable that there would be spies sent by other forces, considering the number of guests present. However, Matthew did not discriminate against anyone. As long as they were willing to join, he was willing to accept them. After all, his goal was to consolidate the commercial power of Seraphis, and those who were insincere could be gradually identified and removed.
After a busy afternoon, the commercial union began to take shape. However, there was still much work to be done, such as setting up the headquarters, establishing regulations, creating member profiles, and organizing a ribbon-cutting ceremony. A mountain of tasks awaited completion. Nevertheless, these were the agenda items for the first day of the conference, and the remaining tasks would have to wait until the second day.
An official dinner was held after the meeting, providing an opportunity for many people to form alliances and exchange information. After briefly entertaining the guests, Matthew discreetly slipped away from the scene and headed to a private room arranged by the Stubber Family.
"Leanna, you've worked hard and come such a long way. Let me propose a toast to you," he began to flatter Leanna as soon as he entered the room.
"Cut the nonsense. You brought me all the way here. What's your intention? Spit it out!"
"What intention could I possibly have? I simply missed you and wanted to invite you for a meal."
"Do you really expect me to believe that?"
Knowing him for so long, she couldn't help but question his motives. He wouldn't have asked her to come all this way just to represent the Creative Cloud Group in showing its support or simply to have a meal.
He scratched his head and chuckled. "Leanna, you know my subordinates. They're skilled in combat, but when it comes to managing the commercial union-"
Before Matthew could finish his sentence, Leanna felt her mind go blank.
"Stop. You're not going to ask me to manage this commercial union, are you?" She immediately shook her head in refusal at his innocent nod. She had just gotten used to managing the massive Creative Cloud Group, and now she was expected to manage the Seraphis Great Commercial Union?
"Matthew, it's not that I don't want to help you. But how can I command respect as a woman? Besides, I have no experience in this field."
"Leanna, don't worry about that. You've effectively managed thousands of employees at the Creative Cloud Group. It's just a few hundred people."
"But they're not the same."
Matthew waved his hand dismissively. "What's the difference? Your employees serve the Creative Cloud Group, and these people serve the commercial union. They're all just trying to make money." "Is that really the case?" asked Leanna with a conflicted expression.
"Of course. Why would I lie to you? Just manage the commercial union the same way you managed the group. If anyone doesn't cooperate or goes against the union's goals, deal with them as you see fit. You don't have to give them special treatment.
"Leanna, I wouldn't burden you with this if I had any other choice, but I truly don't have anyone else who can handle this responsibility. Furthermore, if all goes well, I plan to turn Seraphis into a powerhouse, so I need someone I can trust to manage the union. I apologize for putting this on you."
Matthew was telling the truth because he didn't have any capable individuals in his management team. Sasha, his wife, had been appointed as the Chairman of the Cunningham Group, but only because Matthew had convinced her to take on the role. However, her personality was not strong enough and she was not suitable for dealing with these experienced individuals. After careful consideration, Matthew concluded that the only person he trusted and believed to be capable of the position was Leanna.
