Chapter 187
Chapter 187 You Are Lying
Anastasia lifted her head and looked at him face to face.
Christian paused slightly. "Didn't you want to see it?"
Anastasia glanced at him. His wrist was already swollen, and the bruises were obvious.
"Who wants to see it? I was afraid you'd blame me!"
Christian smiled, "That's what I mean."
Anastasia looked at him speechlessly.
Christian slowly lowered his hand and looked at her with a smile.
"Anastasia, admit it. You're caring about me as much as you can.
You're so good at billiards, yet you missed on the last shot because you were in a panic, weren't you?"
His words were like stones thrown into a calm lake, rippling.
She blinked her pretty eyes subtly but still had a calm and indifferent look.
"Christian, you're overthinking it. I wasn't flustered when I missed. I did it on purpose because fifteen shots are one hundred and eighty million dollars, more than enough to invest."
Christian looked at her with loss, pondering her emotions when she spoke.
Finally, he gave a confident and gentle smile.
"I don't believe it. You're lying."
Anastasia looked away speechlessly, not wanting to talk to him anymore.
Why hadn't she realized Christian was so irritating before?
Christian hesitated, thinking she was embarrassed to admit it because she was shy.
So he changed the conversation.
"Jack's been in a lot of trouble lately. Did your best friend do that?"
Anastasia paused and blinked.
"That's Mr. Cross's own problem. What does that have to do with Eleanor?"
Jack had flirted with Anastasia and hit Eleanor in the clubhouse, and everything went wrong when he went back.
The project he contracted had quality problems one after another, and the houses he sold were asked to return the money. The most crucial thing was that not a single penny of his original payment for the follow-up project had arrived.
In fact, Eleanor did quite a bit of work in it, and Anastasia had asked Derek to help push her into the dark.
She couldn't just watch Eleanor being bullied and remain indifferent for no reason, not to mention that she herself was a party to it!
Christian looked at her and said in a low voice, "I can't believe I didn't know that your friend was actually this good before!"
Anastasia curled her lip.
"You're trying to say you didn't think someone like me could have a rich and powerful friend like Eleanor, right?"
Christian lowered his head.
"I didn't say that."
Anastasia laughed lightly. But that's what he thought. What a double-minded man!
Everyone around him thought she didn't deserve him. If he didn't think so, how could he have ignored her for three years?
She said in a strange way, "It's okay for you to think that. It's probably because Eleanor sees me as smart, beautiful, and generous. She's not like shallow people like you!"
Christian couldn't help but burst out laughing at the end.
"Are you blaming me for not paying enough attention to you?"
Anastasia had a serious look on her face and rolled her eyes.
"Can't you understand human language?"
Christian was silent.
The driver in front was trembling and dared not say a word.
The atmosphere in the car was silent.
It was very silent all the way.
Christian tried to find a topic to ease the situation, but he wasn't that kind of person in the first place. Finally, he could only stare at her.
Anastasia looked out of the window as if she were an outsider!
Just bear with it and get over it!
