Chapter Love Web 180
Chapter 180
The next morning. Ellie finished her breakfast and got ready for work. Since she lived in the western suburbs, it took her a bit longer to get to the hospital. She had to leave an hour early every day. But despite that, she felt really happy. Even though her father was gone, her uncle was alive and well, and she now h
had an
aunt too.
with her brother and her mom, they weren't just floating around without roots anymore, they finally had a place to call home in this city. She
on't scared anymore. She didn't feel lost.
Having them around gave her a strange sense of courage and confidence,
As Ellie stepped outside, she ran into Ales, who was stepping out of his flashy sports car. The sight of Alex in his sharp suir, pulling a gift box from the trunk, made Elle quickly look away. just too pragmatic. He would go to
Everyone called Ales a player, and she used to think so too. But when she thought about it more closely, he was ju great lengths for the people he cared about, even if it meant defying the entire world. The way he treated people he didn't care for? Well, it was just that he simply didn't see them as worth his time.
"Ellie! Wait up! Let's go together!" Nalani called out as she rushed out the door, grabbing Ellie's arm. When she turned and saw Alex's fancy car, she frowned. "Why'd you drive that flashy thing?" Alex instinctively glanced at Ellie. She subtly pulled her arm away, "You guys go ahead. I'll drive myself."
After she spoke. Ellie stepped back, making way for Alex's car to back out. As she watched it slowly move, she turned to head back inside. Just as she reached the entrance of the lobby, there was a loud bang. Elhe whipped around to see Alex's sports car had crashed right into the decorative rock formation!
Nalani, still shaken, followed Alex's gaze to Ellie. "Dude, if you're going to play around, at least know when to stop! I really don't want to risk my life here?" Nalani unbuckled her seatbelt and jumped out of the car. Alex, through the windshield, stared at Ellie as she turned to leave and calmly stepped out of the car.
Just like that, Alex was visiting the Thompson residence three times a day, making Ellie unable to stay there any longer.
Even though he was coming to see Nalani, every time he showed up, his eyes sent shivers down her spine.
Ellie had dealt with Alex long enough to sense that his gaze towards her wasn't innocent.
After that
that typhoon incident at the adult store where he got hurt, he did tone it down and stopped bothering her When she heard he was getting married, she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
But in a twist of fate, he chose to marry her aunt's niece. People say it's easy to change landscapes but hard to change nature; she couldn't underestimate Alex's bad side. To be safe, she decided to move back to her apartment.
"Mom, I'm getting ready for my graduate exams, so I want to move back to my apartment for a while. I'll come back after I'm done, Ellie said, scrambling for a reason that wasn't really a reason. "It's closer to the hospital, and it makes traveling a lot easier. Plus, it'll save me a ton of time."
I won't stop you. If your aunt agrees, then you can go ahead Joanna said, hiding her concern and turning towards the kitchen.
"Aaron, let's pack your things," he said, offering to help.
Ellie obediently followed Aaron upstairs, knowing he had something he wanted to discuss
"Honey, what do yo
you
think about all this?" Whitney asked, pulling Jason aside for a chat
the garden.
They strolled down the garden path at the Thompson residence, Jason holding his wife's hand. "I didn't expect our families to be so intertwined. We shouldn't interfere too much in the young people's affairs, it's best to let things unfold naturally." Whitney frowned, "You seem to take it quite lightly"

Jason smiled fondly, "Sometimes it's better not to state the olavinus, it must be hard to keep it bottled up, right?
Glazing at the garden's scenery, Jason wrapped his arms around Whitney. "I don't know how much has gone down between Ellie and Alex. Maybe Alex has messed up badly, and Ellir has truly suffered, but I still hope she can forgive and be magnanimous. Only then can she truly be herself"
His last mission fad been alongside Nathan, working wills special ops from several countries to take down a notorious drug organization.
They won bed helplessly as their teammates fell one by one, sinable to recover their bodies for fear of exposing their identities while the mission saustall ongoing-
What started with over twenty spirited young men whittled down to just nine in less than a year. Two years later, only three returned.
Of those three, one was severely injured and the other was in a deep coma, still lying in a military hospital
Perhaps only someone like him, who has braved life and deaths, understands that everything in this world, aside from life and death, is really just
Jason said. "A waurel returning to the fold is priceless, but only if Ellie can forgive him
"Alex and Ellie's entanglement runs deep. Now the Warren family suddenly wants to ally with us; it all feels off, Whitney mused, her expression scrunching up in worry. "You just got back, so you don't know him well. Neither Nalani nor Ellie can handle that wild card" "There's no business without deception. The Warren Lamily is a top-notch old-money clan. That kid's been exposed to that world since he was little; it's surprising if he's not cunning"
Jason replied. "His surroundings shaped his upbringing; his upbringing shaped his character, and his character will shape his destiny. The law of cause and effect is inescapabile for everyone, including him"
It was a cozy evening when Alex dropped off Nalani
"Hey, Auntie, where's Ellie?" Nalani asked, looking around.
Whitney glanced at Alex, her expression calm. "She moved out."
Alex fell silent, a small frown creasing his brow
Once Alex left. Whitney cautiously spoke up, "So, Nalani, what do you think of Alex!
Nalani sorted, "Total loser, what else is there to say-?"
Whitney raised an eyebrow, "Should I have a word with your parents and maybe delay this whole marriage thing?"
"Auntie, I appreciate your concern, but seriously, let me handle my own mess, okay?" After saying that, Nalani excused herself and headed out in her car
just past ten that night, in a private room at the Earl Hotel lounge, Nalani pushed the door open, stepping inside,
"Spill it. What do you want from me?" Nalani leaned against the wine cabinet, eyeing Layton, who was lounging on the sofa.
Layton set down his glass, fixing his gaze on her. "Do you know he's got feelings for someone else?!"
Nalani raised an eyebrow, unfazed, "And! It's not like I want anything from him?
"Then what are y
you after? His status? His connections? His money!! Layton stood up, closing the distance between them. Nalam pretended to think seriously. "As a divorced woman, I obviously don't want anything too practical-" A dangerous

"Are you serious!"
Before Nalani could respond Layton wrapped his arms around her, lifting her off the ground and pressing her back against the wine cabinet.
Nalani laughed, full of mischief."Layton, what do you think you're doing?"
Layton leaned in closer, his lips brushing against her neck. "Tim here to sleep with your
