Chapter 352

Chapter 352 Her Ex-Husband’s Funeral (1)

It was a cloudy and rainy day when Owen was buried.

It began to rain in the morning.

Steven had kept a low profile for most of his life, but this time he broke the rule and held a grand funeral for his only grandson.

The funeral was held in North City. More than thirty thousand employees of the Mazedew Group came to mourn. Business partners, relatives, and friends all came to present flowers.

Black umbrellas and black cars filled the cemetery of the Mazedew family.

Many photographers recorded everything with cameras with umbrellas over their heads. Seeing the well-known big shots in black suits at the big shot, they were stunned by the pomp of the funeral.

“Although the funeral is just a form, he should have died without shame since so many bigwigs came to mourn for him,” one of the photographers couldn’t help sighing. “I suppose that few people will come for me when my time comes. If I died of overwork one day, please remember to come to my funeral.”

“Bah, bah, how can you curse yourself like this?” Another reporter glared at him and said, “What’s more, Mr. Moore died a glorious death. The city leader have even issued a mourning statement for him. It’s worth it. I really admire him.”

“Alas! If I had so much money, I wouldn’t want to die. I’d rather live a carefree life.”

“Yes, you are right. Mr. Moore hasn’t gotten married yet. Who do you think will inherit his money?”

“Oh, you don’t know? He divorced! And then he got married again. But the wedding was not held because the bride cheated on him.”

“So Eliza is a homewrecker? She tried to get rid of Mr. Moore’s ex-wife but failed to marry him.

But I heard that Mr. Moore chased his ex-wife later.”

“Isn’t Mr. Moore’s ex-wife a village girl? There’s such a huge gap between their families, so I don’t think it’s possible for them to get back together. I’ve heard that Mr. Moore often goes to Poya in the past half a year and has a close relationship with the young lady of the Newman family…”

“I saw it with my own eyes when I went to interview the opening ceremony of the racecourse in Poya. There must be something going on between Mr. Moore and Ms. Newman.”

Hence, they wondered if Ms. Newman would come to the funeral.

Before they could see the chairman of Crystaldale, the reporters caught another two figures. A reporter shouted, “Hey, aren’t they Maya and Eliza, the hosts of Universal TV?”

The camera immediately turned and aimed at Maya and Eliza.

Both Maya and Eliza wore black dresses. Even on the rainy day, they still looked neat and beautiful.

Eliza cried and sobbed, looking extremely sad. Maya helped her walk inside.

Her cry drew a lot of attention.

Both Roger and Owen were dead.

When Eliza heard the news, she found it hard to wrap her head around it.

“How could it be possible? Didn’t Roger plan to go to Traique? He even “introduced” me to Zion, or I wouldn’t have suffered so much and been beaten up by Eden,” thought Eliza.

One of Eliza’s teeth was broken, and her face was almost bruised, which was really a huge price to pay.

Eliza still hoped that Roger would come to pick her up after he settled down.

But Roger died!

What was worse, Owen was also dead!

The man who had loved her treated her well, and she almost married actually died!

In fact, Eliza had wondered if Owen really loved her more than once.

She was not certain about it.

Indeed, they had been in love for a short time., and he was really good and generous to her.

However, she always felt that something was missing.

When she was with Roger and Zion, Eliza suddenly realized that Owen didn’t have that kind of primitive impulse toward her.

He had never had more intimate contact with Eliza except for the time when he took her to the

hospital when she pretended to cough up blood in the Moore Mansion. He hadn’t done anything to her, even when she took the initiative to kiss him.

If he really loved someone, he’d desire to have sex with her, wouldn’t he?

Eliza was not sure whether Roger and Zion loved her, but she was sure that Owen didn’t love her.

He treated her well just because she had given him “warmth” when she was a child.

But Eliza really wanted to stop cheating and marry him!

If it weren’t for Polly’s and Hailey’s interference, Eliza would have married Owen long ago, and she would still be able to obtain a large fortune after his death.

Now that Owen was dead, Eliza, of course, would come here to mourn.

Tears streamed down Eliza’s face, but she didn’t actually feel so sad. However, when she saw

Owen’s photo on the tombstone, she couldn’t help but burst into tears.

This time, she cried with sincerity.

Suddenly, Maya touched Eliza’s knee quietly, and Eliza got down to her knees in front of the tombstone. She cried even louder, with tears of pain.

Maya thought to herself, “This is a great opportunity to show our affection. Of course, we need to cry loudly.”

Her eyes were also filled with tears.

She took a look at Polly and got surprised.

Polly, the proud woman, seemed to age a lot in an instant. There were several gray hairs at her temples, and the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes made her look decadent.

At this moment, Maya felt so happy that she even wanted to laugh.

“Polly, I didn’t expect you to end like this. Yes, you’re remarkable. But so what? You still have to see your son die before you! You divorced and lost your son. Now, you’re getting old and have a pair of disabled legs. Tut, tut! What a shame!” Maya thought as she touched her belly. “This baby really comes at the right time!”

But on the surface, she was still very sad. “I’m sorry, Polly. Take care of yourself! I believe that Owen certainly hopes you can be fine.”

Polly ignored her.

She had fought with Maya for more than half of her life, and it was enough. She really didn’t want to quarrel with Maya at her son’s funeral.

“Why are you here?” Alan looked at Maya and frowned.

With tears in her eyes, Maya turned to look at Alan. Seeing that Alan had obviously aged a lot, she touched his face and said, “Alan, don’t be too sad. I’m here with you.”

Alan took a look at the expressionless Polly and shook off Maya’s hand. He frowned and said,

“Leave with Eliza right now!”

Of course, Maya wouldn’t leave. She said sadly, “Owen doesn’t have a wife. He was in a relationship with Eliza, after all. Just let Eliza cry for him.”

Hearing Maya’s cry, Steven and Abby frowned at the same time, feeling annoyed and disgusted. They wanted to ask someone to drag Maya away, but they didn’t want to make her too embarrassed in front of so many people.

Just then, two bodyguards stepped forward and pulled Eliza up.

Suddenly, a cold voice sounded. “Drive her away! Don’t let her tears stain this place.”

The reporters quickly turned the camera and saw a thin black figure under a black umbrella. She was wearing a black suit and looked very serious and sad.

“Ms. Newman is really here?!” thought the reporters.
