Chapter 36
Chapter 36 Damien Stood in Front of Her Clarissa fantasized about Damien, but she never had hopes about this marriage. She would move out if he wanted her to, and she would not feel like she was at a loss.
Clarissa also specially sent a WhatsApp message to Luke.(Look at what you've done! Damien took out his anger on me and kicked me out because you tried to extort him. What do you think I'm worth to lim? He'll only give me some change when he's happy. I don't even dare to ask him for money, yet you went to extort him?!) Clarissa did this to dispel Luke's idea of continuing to extort Damien and to warn him tha Damien was not one to be trifled with.
Luke got angry when he saw this message.
He could tell that Damien was not a good-natured person nor a fool.
"How heartless!" Luke muttered.
"Who?" Joseph asked.
Luke was the driver of the Moore family and was sending Joseph to the accounting firm.
Joseph had his own firm.
"Damien Lawrence. He kicked Clarissa out!"
"Why?" "I don't know. He probably just likes to bully us poor people. Who knows what he's thinking of?" Luke smiled sinisterly with an ulterior motive.
Sure enough, Joseph frowned tightly.
After a while, Luke added, "Also, the last time I went to see Damien Lawrence, he said that his marriage with Clarissa was only on paper. Damien's grandfather is ill, so Damien wanted to marry someone to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish. That's why he married Clarissa."
This was the result of Luke's careful consideration.
The last time Luke went to Damien's house, Damien's maid said that Damien's sick grandfather was taking a nap, so she asked Luke to speak in a low voice. Luke also noticed that Damien's house had injection needles, other medical equipment, as well as a lot of medicine.
He later found out that Damien's grandíather moved in recently. Thus, Luke guessed that Damien's grandfather was dying of illness, so Damien hired Clarissa to put up an act and get married. When the time comes, they would secretly get a divorce, and no one besides Damien's grandfather would know about their marriage.
Since Damien kicked Clarissa out, he probably had no feelings for her. It was no wonder that Damien did not show any sympathy to his brother-in-law.
Therefore, Luke felt that the key to this marriage should be Damien's grandfather.
Damien's grandfather was the most critical factor in this.
Luke felt that he could maintain a relationship with both sides. He wanted to get a liold of Dainien and keep leading: Joseph on.
lle would still try to set up Joseph and Clarissa "No wonder Damien is so mean to Clarissa!" Joseph said angrily, "He's too much for treating Clary like this!"
When Luke heard this, he thought to himsell, 'Looks like the Moore family is still more reliable'
Luke did not tell Joseph about Clarissa and Zach for fear that Joseph would mind that Clarissa had a first love
"I'm looking forward to their divorce soon so that Damien won't bully my sister again. It's a nominal marriage anyway!" Luke said again in a protective tone. "How do you know that they'll get a divorce?" "It's not hard to guess. A marriage without love must have a time limit. Damien Lawrence will probably marry the person hic likes one day. He's so rich, so why would he suffer such grievances?" Luke said it as a matter of fact,
Joseph felt that what Luke said made sense.
The training was already over. Joseph initially thought that he would retreat quietly because Clarissa was married.
However, after hearing what Luke said, Josephi started to have a sliver of hope.
During this time, Clarissa was not doing great.
If she had always been an ordinary employee, no one would comment on her. Or if she was married to Damien, she would always be praised.
However, her situation was unique. An unknown employec like her suddenly became a popular subject of discussion because she had fallen of the pedestal.
Everyone was delighted to see Clarissa's failure and added insult to injury. The mockery Clarissa heard was endless.
Howard Brooks often asked Clarissa to work overtime and left the most tedious task to Clarissa. He would euphemistically say, "Youngsters like you need more practice."
Clarissa did not say anything and silently did her work She knew that Howard was just making things difficult for her, but she had no complaints,
After all, if she wants to wear a crown, she must learn to bear the burden. She had relied on Damien to solve the practical difficulties of life, so now, she accepted this bit of backlas
That day, Clarissa worked overtime until five o'clock in the morning before she finally finished her work
When she was packing her bag, she stared at the umbrella inside and was absent-minded for a long time.
She wanted to see Damien again, but she could not.
Chapter 36 Darren Stood in front of Her
Clarissa took her bag, went into the elevator, and yawned. Suddenly, a man appeared in front of her. She thought that she was hallucinating because she was sleepy, so she purposely rubbed her eyes. "You haven't seen me before?" Damien's cold voice rang in her ear. "President Lawrence? Why are you here so early?" Clarissa was very surprised.
She had been hoping to see him but did not get a chance to. Perhaps God heard her complaints. At this moment, Damien was standing in front of her.
