Love at the Door

Chapter 87

Chapter 87

Stunned, Celine turned toward Andrew. Why would he be here? He rarely ever came back to the Wentworth residence–not even for Christmas last year.

Melina was also wondering why Andrew had come over. Plus, he’d spoken rather rudely. It was as if he would actually hit Celine.

Andrew approached Celine and eyed her abdomen. “I heard you’re having a son this time. You should take good care of the pregnancy.”

It didn’t sound like he was expressing his concern, however. It sounded more like a

threat.

Celine, who was nothing but arrogant when dealing with Melina, immediately clutched her belly and stepped backward. Still looking pale, she warned, “I’m you aunt, Andrew.”

“Is that so?”

Celine’s face turned even more ghostly, her eyes flecked with terror.

Melina, who was watching the two, felt a little puzzled. No matter how unruly Andrew was, Celine was still his aunt. She shouldn’t be that afraid of him, right? What

was she afraid of?

Just then, a stern voice came in through the door. “Andrew, watch it. You need to respect your elders.”

Melina looked over and saw Joseph coming in.

Andrew narrowed his eyes. “If you have the time to lecture me, Uncle Joseph, you should use that time to keep both your sons, my younger cousins, in check. Or, would you like me to do it for you instead?”

Joseph shot Andrew a glare, but Andrew merely met Joseph’s eyes with a devilish indifference of his own.

Instantly, Melina felt stifled by the atmosphere. Andrew was a Wentworth, and these were his relatives, but his arrival was akin to a bomb that had been set off in the house. She could sense the disdain they felt for him–as well as the terror hidden

beneath it.

Just then, Wallace came downstairs. When he saw the charged situation, he asked, What is it this time?”

His appearance broke the stalemate. Celine swiftly scrambled over to him to rant

about Andrew..

“Dad! Andrew wants to hit me, a pregnant woman, and I’m carrying my first son! All Joseph did was admonish him for it, and he got very rude to Joseph too. He showed no respect for us at all, even though we’re his aunt and uncle.”

Wallace was a man of principles and integrity. He refused to let any of the

Wentworths behave inappropriately in front of him. However, he didn’t punish

Andrew. Instead, he looked at Andrew and said, “Rein yourself in a little. Don’t cause a scene every time you come back.”

Out of respect for Wallace, Andrew kept quiet and started heading for the stairs. He’d taken two steps before turning around to look at Melina. “Why are you just standing there? Keep up.”

Frowning, Melina went after him. She wondered if none of the Wentworths had to work. Why were they all home in the middle of the day?

Celine had more to say, but Wallace, who was watching as Melina and Andrew headed upstairs together, raised his hand to stop her.

Once they were gone, Celine finally muttered unhappily, “Why are you so biased, Dad?

Only then did Wallace look at her. “If you want to stay here until your delivery date,, stop causing trouble.”

“Dad, I-”

“You can save the explanation. I know very well what kind of people all of you are.”

Celine clammed up sheepishly.

No longer paying any more attention to Celine and Joseph, Wallace started heading toward Melina’s room.

Joseph’s eyes flashed with fury and resentment as he stared after Wallace.

Andrew headed to his room with Melina in tow. As soon as he opened the door, his expression froze.
