Chapter 86

Chester tilted her chin up, forcing Angelina to look at him. His long, well-defined fingers, dabbed with some ointment, gently smeared it across her face. His hands were large and delicate.

"Are you done?"

"Just a bit more."

His voice was so soft that Rosalind wondered how much she would enjoy it if he ever spoke to

her like that.

She stared at him intently, unable to look away, when Catherine suddenly broke out crying.

"Isa, come help me out."

"What's wrong?"

"She needs a diaper change."

"Mom, you never ask me to hold the baby, but the moment there's a dirty diaper, I'm the first person you think of."

"Well, you're the baby's aunt, aren't you?"

With a sigh, Isadora grabbed the diaper bag and followed Emily out to the baby changing room, leaving only three people in the room.

After Chester finished applying the ointment, Angelina laid back on the bed. She saw how Rosalind stared at him but didn't know how he felt about it.

Thanks to the timely treatment, Angelina's rash was under control. Aside from the redness, which would take some time to heal, there were no other symptoms.

"Hello?" Rosalind answered a phone call. "Yes, I'll be there soon. Don't worry. I've already handled it."

After hanging up, she asked, "Chester, I didn't drive here today. Could you give me a ride? Isa probably won't be returning to the studio."

Upon hearing this, Angelina sensed something was amiss but chose to keep quiet.

Rosalind's nervousness was evident in her uneven breathing. "If it's too much..."

"I'm going out later, but it's the opposite way. So, it's rather inconvenient.

"That's fine. I'll just get a cab." Her heart sank at his answer, but she quickly masked it. Suddenly, Angelina cleared her throat and suggested, "Why not drop her off?" Chapter 86

Upon hearing her words, Chester raised an eyebrow at her as if asking if she was sure about

this.

Angelina didn't want to come between him and Rosalind, but things weren't going as planned. The female supporting character's storyline changed dramatically when she decided to keep the child. "It's alright, Angelina. I will find my own ways. Chester, I'll leave now. Please help me inform

Isadora."

"Sure," he responded casually.

As soon as Rosalind left, he rested his chin on his hand and stared at Angelina's rash-covered face. Despite having a mild fear of clusters, he couldn't help but grin.

Her face was dotted with red bumps, including one on the tip of her nose. It was so perfectly placed that even a surgeon couldn't have been more precise.

He reached out to poke it slightly, and Angeline flinched. "Go ahead and laugh if you want." "No more mangoes for you in the future. I won't eat them either." "Okay."

"For the record, I had no intention of taking her anywhere. I'm a responsible husband who doesn't call their admirers.

"I did it for you! I heard Louis was giving you trouble, and I got worried."

"For me? Do you realize it makes me look like I'm so incapable that I need you to step in and make calls on my behalf?"

Upon hearing his response, Angelina was left speechless.

Out in the hallway, Rosalind took a deep, shaky breath. She couldn't believe that, although Angelina acted so nonchalantly, her words were full of sarcasm. She wondered if Angelina was trying to humiliate her by suggesting Chester drop her, For the first time in her life, Rosalind felt truly inadequate.

Her parents spoiled her as an only child, giving her anything she wanted. Hence, most men weren't good enough to catch her eye. Yet, the only time she wanted a man, he happened to be someone else's husband.

If Angelina hadn't stooped so low as to drug Chester, maybe he would've been single when they met. The timing would've been perfect.
