Love and Fortune A Gamble for Two (Angela and Chester)

Chapter Love And Fortune A Gamble For Two 84

Chapter 84

It was rare to see her so obedient. Chester leaned in closer and whispered, "I brought you spicy potato wedges."

Angelina thought she must've misheard him. "Are you messing with me?"

"They're just outside. Can't you smell the chili on me?"

She couldn't smell anything, but it had been ages since she had eaten anything spicy, and she craved it. So, she turned and went outside to check. Sure enough, spicy potato wedges were waiting for her.

Standing by the doorway, Chester watched her wolf them down happily. Then, he turned around and placed the USB drive into the nightstand drawer.

He had grown extremely carefully after the last incident, where Louis almost ruined all of his efforts. He couldn't afford to let anyone sabotage him again because it would be a hassle.

As he placed the USB drive in the drawer, his gaze fell on a notebook filled with design

sketches.

Flipping through it, he realized they were Angelina's drawings. They were good enough to show some promise but far from polished.

Emily once thought Angelina had potential and sponsored her education. In her first year, she had performed slightly above average, which Emily was happy about. She even thought that Angelina might one day get into a top-tier university. But by her second and third years, things had gone downhill fast. Angelina became obsessed with her looks, fixating on what to wear and how to enjoy life.

She began competing with her classmates over small matters where she wanted whatever they owned. At that time, Emily spoiled her a lot so she would get anything she wanted.

Although Angelina was young, she was crafty. She knew how to play coy and act pitiful, which made Emily dote on her even more.

Whatever other girls her age had, Angelina had to have, too. Her childhood wasn't any less lavish than those of Emily's more privileged socialite acquaintances.

Emily didn't scold her even when her grades dropped. Instead, she believed it was Angelina's rural upbringing and lack of a strong educational basis. Hence, she hired all kinds of tutors to help, but the results were mediocre at best. Over time, Emily decided it was enough if Angelina grew up safe, happy, and healthy. After all, her goal in sponsoring Angelina wasn't to mold her into a genius but to expose her to the world and help her discover her own path. Chapter 84

However, even in design, Angelina's skills were mediocre.

Chester couldn't help but laugh as he flipped through the pages. He wasn't an expert, but even

he could see the flaws in her work.

Of all the things she wanted to design, she decided to design bikinis. With her barely-there curves, the bikinis she designed looked like they were meant for teenagers who just hit puberty.

While Angelina was devouring her spicy potato wedges, she reflected on her designs. The more she thought about them, the more she realized how flawed they were. She could identify countless problems but had no idea how to fix them. Without realizing it, she overate the potato wedges, leaving her face red and tingling. Taking a deep breath, she rushed to the fridge, grabbed a mango, peeled it, and stuffed a slice into her mouth.

Halfway through the mango, she suddenly felt an itchy sensation creeping over her skin.

Angelina was dumbfounded. She had completely forgotten that the female supporting character was allergic to mangoes.

She instantly rushed to the kitchen to wash her hands and yelled, "Chester!"

Chester instantly dropped the notebook, and the pages fell open to reveal her bikini design. The design had a pair of wings connected to the rear of the bikini bottoms, which seemed completely absurd. Angelina's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and she scratched the itch that had grown across her neck.

She wondered why the supporting character needed to be allergic to mangoes when they were so delicious. ""What's wrong?"

"I accidentally ate some mango."

Chester approached and noticed the rash on her body. He grimaced instantly. "Accidentally?"

"..."

The truth was that she had entirely forgotten about her mango allergy.

He grabbed her hand without hesitation and pulled her out of the door. As they passed by the table, he noticed the mango peels on it. "Why did you stuff everything in your mouth?"
