Chapter Love And Fortune A Gamble For Two 73

Chapter 73

Although Isadora had asked to keep a distance from Richard, he knew it meant they had fallen out. As such, he no longer kept up the facade.

The clients he had introduced to her previously, with deals already halfway done, now suddenly backed out.

At the studio, Isadora paced back and forth anxiously. Her brows were knitted tightly. Megan and Rosalind looked gloomy as well. Everything had been smooth sailing... until they crossed a petty man.

"Isa, what happened to you and that man? Didn't you say he was nice?"

"What did you do to him? The fallout came out of nowhere."

Isadora refused to go into details; she would be too revolted to do so.

"Have you called our clients? We can offer them discounts."

"It's useless. I've tried everything."

Rosalind looked at her. "Come on, tell us what happened. That way, we can solve things together."

However, Isadora shook her head. Rosalind then shifted her focus to Megan. "Meg, why don't you try calling Alexander?"

"Me?" Megan had been in a dreadful stalemate with Alexander because of the wedding matter. She couldn't possibly ask him for a favor right after they had cleared the air and patched things up, right?

"Yeah. I bet he can help us with just one sentence."

"Forget about it. I don't want to do that."

Faced with her unhelpful business partners, Rosalind began to feel helpless. One wouldn't clarify things while the other wouldn't use the resources available. Stuck in the middle, wanted to do something but couldn't be of help. she

"How about this? Give me Mr. Lane's number, and I'll talk to him and see what's up. I promise

I'll be nice."

"Rosalind..." Isadora quickly stopped her, her gaze calm. "Don't."

"We're losing clients. We ought to do something about it!"

They had purchased all the materials, which were non-refundable. Losing deals and clients essentially meant wasting those costs and incurring a significant loss for the studio! "He's a pervert."

"What?"

"I was wrong about him."

Isadora drew a deep breath. "I was wrong

"Are you okay? I..." Megan was worried. "At his age, he's a pervert targeting young women? Disgusting!"

"I'm fine, but I don't think I want to see him again."

At that, Rosalind paled and dejectedly returned to her desk. "Alright, I won't seek him out. That's frightening..."

Looking at Rosalind, Megan suddenly thought of an idea. "I got it. You can help us."

"How?"

"By calling Ryan."

"Me?" Rosalind shook her hand. "I'm not that close with him."

"Hasn't he been asking you out lately? A man should step up when it matters most. Also, this could be your chance to test his true intentions. Since Isadora couldn't fix things and Megan refused to seek Alexander, Rosalind could only, accept Ryan's invitation to afternoon tea.

She "casually" mentioned the incident to him and lamented the hardships young entrepreneurs experienced.

At a clothing factory in the suburbs, a VIP suddenly arrived. When Richard heard about it, he quickly headed out to welcome them.

"Oh, why if it isn't the famous Mr. Peterson? What a pleasure to have you here. You could've

informed me in advance and-

"I've heard a lot about you, Mr. Lane."

Richard was so scared that cold sweat started dripping down his face. How did this

troublemaker end up in his small factory? Did someone cause trouble?

Ryan tapped on Richard's shoulder a few times. "Let's talk, Mr. Lane."

"Talk?"

After Richard invited Ryan into his office, he quickly asked his assistant to serve him the best coffee. Bending forward, he said, "Mr. Peterson, we- Ryan suddenly touched his face. "Look at your wrinkly face. How great would it be if you were

as kind as you look? Instead, you're thinking about things you shouldn't. How utterly disgusting."
