Love and Fortune A Gamble for Two (Angela and Chester)

Chapter Love And Fortune A Gamble For Two 68

Chapter 68

The next morning, Angelina woke up naturally to the sound of Catherine crying loudly in the living room. Emily and Patricia were trying to calm her down while preparing milk. Catherine would normally cry desperately until she finally had the milk.

Angelina got up from the bed. "Catherine..."

"Your mom is up, Catherine. Take a look at her. She looks absolutely stunning today."

Angelina sheepishly ran her fingers through her tangled hair. Emily gestured toward the balcony and remarked, "Angelina, stray cats can be quite dirty. It's best not to bring them into the house."

Undoubtedly, Chester had informed Emily about keeping Blanco.

"But I really like it."

Patricia also advised, "If you have a child, it's best to avoid getting cats. Cats can carry toxoplasmosis, and inhaling cat hair can harm a child's lungs."

"I plan to keep it on the balcony. I'll ask Chester to buy a big cat cage. I really love cats..."

"Alright then. Keep it if you truly like it."

"Thank you, Emily."

Chester rushed back from the studio just before noon, making a quick stop at the pet store to pick up several essentials. After parking his car downstairs, he quickly unloaded his purchases, making several trips to ensure everything was brought inside. Once everything was in place, he arranged Blanco's bed and bowls on the balcony. With a grip on Blanco's scruff, he prepared to head back to the pet store.

"Where are you taking it?"

"For injections and baths. It's dirty."

With a disdainful expression, he placed Angelina's hood over her head before departing." Make sure to wear your hood so that you don't catch a cold."

Emily immediately assisted Angelina in taking a seat. After over an hour, Chester returned, carrying Angelina's first cat.

Blanco was a long-haired cat with fur and pale yellow eyes. Before a thorough wash, its coat appeared dirty and oatmeal-like, mixed with a few strands of different colors. But once cleaned, it transformed into a pristine white, looking as dazzling as snow. "Hi, Blanco. You're my cat from now on," said Angelina.

"Be careful not to get scratched by it."

Angelina placed Blanco on her lap and began to pet it, her smile evident. Although no one else. in the family, including Chester, liked cats, they remained silent because Angelina did.

While recuperating after giving birth, Angelina enjoyed playful moments with Blanco. When she grew tired of the cat, she would spend time with Catherine. What she initially thought would be a dull recovery turned out to be lively and enjoyable. Before she realized it, two weeks had flown by.

Chester's latest software launch achieved remarkable success in the market. Alongside Alexander, numerous companies expressed interest by investing in him, eager for him to create the next software.

However, Chester had no plans to embark on new software development for now. Instead, he continued to generate income through the creation of mini-programs.

On that day, Rosalind approached him unexpectedly and suggested adding a new function to the previous mini-program. She visited his studio and said, "Chester, I heard from Meg that your recent software launch was incredibly profitable. Why haven't you considered relocating your office?"

"Is this place not good enough?"

"It's not bad, but it's not very decent if a well-known company wants to work with you."

"It's commendable to remember one's roots."

Rosalind smiled slightly. "I'm too shallow."

Her gaze landed on the computer, where she noticed Chester seriously typing at the keyboard. Moments later, the function she wanted was available.

""Is this what you

wanted?"

"Yes. That was quick, Chester. I reached out to others, and they mentioned..."

"Alright." Chester stood up to fetch some water, clearly reluctant to share anything further

with her.

He couldn't quite understand why Angelina was so wary of Rosalind, but it seemed wise to maintain some distance. After all, Rosalind was quite attractive, and women's thoughts could be unpredictable. Hence, it was better for him to avoid interacting with her. Rosalind gazed at his back, a subtle smile playing at the corners of her lips.
