Chapter 76 Is Mr. Preston Married Yet?
On Monday morning, Clara wore a small black suit and ironed pants that emphasized her slender legs. She looked capable and genuine.
The personnel department at EMC had completed the paperwork for all the new hires during the weekend.
After arriving at the EMC Group, Clara scanned her face to enter, and went to the floor her department was on.
There were only a few people in the translation department, but their offices occupied a whole floor of the building.
After entering the office, Clara saw her colleagues from the translation department and greeted them politely. Then she went to look for her workplace.
During this time, some colleagues came over to chat with her, praising her, "Among the people who have entered the translation department in the past two years you've scored the best in the interview. You've even translated for the president of D country. That's awesome!"
Clara thought of the video on Twitter and her eyes twitched.
"I was just lucky at the time." Clara looked up and smiled at the colleague, "I look forward to working with you in the future."
"Of course. We are all colleagues!" That colleague waved his hand.
The two were chatting when someone came in through the glass door carrying several bags.
"Senior colleagues, I am Sharon Dobson, and I joined the translation department today. I look forward to working with everyone in the future and have brought some small desserts for everyone."
As Sharon spoke, she took out desserts from a bag and gave them to her colleagues, "It's not from any fancy store. My aunt who runs a dessert shop made it. I hope you guys can enjoy it." "Wow, your aunt is amazing."
"This pudding's shape so cute, it looks delicious."

Soon Sharon brought the desserts to Clara. She handed her a piece of Matcha cake. "Clara, I said some mean things before, I'm sorry. Please forgive me."
Clara looked up at Sharon in surprise. With her smile and her sincere face, she seemed to be sincerely apologizing to her. However, she didn't believe it.
On Friday, she and Baxter had forced Sharon to wear a bikini and dance at the door of a restaurant opposite the company. There were many onlookers. The video had been recorded by Baxter and had been posted on the internet. It had also attracted thousands of reposts. Sharon's reputation was in tatters. After being so completely humiliated, Sharon's hate for her had probably gone to the bone. How could she want to reconcile with her?
"What's the matter?" Seeing that Clara still hadn't picked up the piece of cake, Sharon carefully asked, "Clara, are you still holding a grudge against me?" Clara was wary, but there was no shock on her face as she took the cake. "No, you have apologized. Of course, I will forgive you. We are colleagues now." "That's good." Sharon smiled and went to deliver desserts to her other colleagues.
Clara looked at Sharon talking to her colleagues enthusiastically and using her deserts to make friends. Her eyes twitched, and she quickly retracted her gaze, and put the piece of cake in the corner of her table.
At about ten o'clock, Patricia, who had been Clara's monitor arrived.
Patricia was the deputy manager of the translation department. Manager Sparks was on a business trip, and so she handled affairs in the department.
Patricia called everyone to the conference room and introduced Clara and the new colleagues. Then she asked everyone about their work progress.
"Oh right." When the meeting was over, Patricia said, "To welcome the newcomers, the company has a welcome party at The Mcerrin Hotel tonight. Mr. Preston will also be attending. The newcomers can go back home in the afternoon, and then should go to the hotel to attend the welcome party at 7:30 tonight."
Clara was not interested in any welcome party. However, when Patricia mentioned Ethan, she found that he hadn't been back to the villa for several days.
She quickly stopped daydreaming and went and got an old colleague to help her familiarize herself with the work.
In the past, Clara had only gone to her company to help every once in a while, and always went in the afternoon, either sleeping or shopping in the morning. That schedule was comfortable and relaxing. Now on the first day on the job, doing all kinds of high-intensity things was hard for someone like her so accustomed to laziness.
Although her body was a little tired, Clara inexplicably felt the work fulfilling.
It was as if she was valuable.
After a busy morning, Clara finally had time to catch her breath. She took a cup and went to the break room, intending to have a cup of fruit tea and rest for a while before heading back. After entering the break room, she saw several female colleagues leaning against the cupboards, chatting, and gossiping.
"I envy newcomers! You get to eat a fancy meal and even see Mr. Preston tonight..." A colleague sighed while making coffee. "What do you say, is Mr. Preston married or not?" "It's impossible to find another bachelor like him in the country, right?"
"I think so." Another colleague said. "I went to Twitter before. Some netizens said they saw Mr. Preston bring a woman with him to the city hall to register their marriage.”
