Chapter Epilogue
Katana was standing outside and looking at the beautiful trimmed landscape before her when her father came out to stand next to her. This morning she had slipped out of bed early, leaving behind a sleeping Kieran. She pondered over all that has happened in the past few months.
“Katana.” Her father made his presence known. She turned around to look at him with a soft smile.
He walked up to her and stood next to her. He has grown older now but he was still a very fit soldier. His eyes looked upon the morning scenery that she was gazing upon a moment ago. After a moment, he turned to look at her.
“You are so much like your mother. She had that stubborn streak that I happened to adore with all my heart. I should have known you will do something like this.” He said gently.
“Are you mad at me?” She asked.
The corner of his lip lifted. “I can’t be mad at you. I was worried sick though. Every day, I will wonder what you were doing and if you were okay.”
“I’m sorry for bringing so much trouble.” She apologized and he patted her head like he always does when he was showing her affection.
“It’s okay. Your mother will be proud of you, just like her, you stood up for what you believed in. Although, you have given me a heart attack that morning, a small part of me knew you knew what you were doing.” He admitted.
She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly. He was a very good man and she loved him with all her heart. She was happy that he wasn’t mad at her for making this decision. He wrapped his arms around her.
“I am guessing you will be staying here now.” He chuckled. “My daughter is the Queen of Werewolves.”
Katana scrunched up her nose. “Please don’t say that.”
He laughed at her distaste. “You should be proud of that title. You earned it and you can make a change. Use this to make our kind better. I know you can do it. I believe in you.”
Just like Kieran, he believed in her. Her heart swelled up with so much love and happiness. Her father kissed the top of her head and they continued to watch the sun rise for a few more minutes before her father excused himself.
It didn’t take long before Kieran showed up. He wrapped his arms around his mate and propped his chin on her shoulder as again they looked out into the scenery.
“You left this morning.” He sounded disappointed.
She laughed softly. “I wanted to see the sun rise.”
“Why?” He asked and pulled back to give her a confused look.
“Because after days and months of fighting. Just seeing the sun rise gives me new hopes and peace.” She pointed to where the sun was now almost all the way up.
“The sun provides the same warmth as the Moon does for us. It is a new beginning, a new start of the day, new choices and new decisions. There will always be light.” She replied.
He propped his chin back on her shoulders and tightened his arms around her tiny waist as they both looked out onto the sun.
“Kieran?” She murmured.
He hummed that he heard her. She sighed and turned around to look at him. He kept his arms firmly wrapped around her waist. She moved her hand to cup his cheek.
“I want to thank you for accepting me for who I am even when I was a boy-”
“About that-“His eyes held a little laughter. “Please don’t ever dress up as a boy again. For several months, I seriously thought I was going crazy.”
She giggled at his distress. “I am truly sorry but you have to admit though I was a cute little boy.”
He groaned and placed his forehead on hers. “Don’t even go there.”
“Remember my panties?”
He laughed as he remembered exactly what panties she was talking about. “You did have a nice butt.”
Her face heated up and she pinched him playfully before he pulled her closer to his chest. They stayed in that position for a little while longer and continued to joke around until they finally went inside.

Kieran made his way to see his uncle. They have been working on their relationship and Kieran can see how deeply sorry Thaddeus was. Aunt Ruth has fully recovered; the knife did not puncture her heart but her lung. It took a while but she was okay and Thaddeus thanked the heavens every day.
Thaddeus and Ruth were sitting in one of the common rooms as they whispered back and forth. Aunt Ruth has happily informed Kieran that Thaddeus was a changed man. He opened up more and has listened to Aunt Ruth’s advices.
“Good morning.” Kieran greeted them.
Thaddeus looked up from Ruth who was sitting next to him. There was no anger in his eyes. He leaned forward as soon as Kieran sat down in the sofa next to theirs.
“Kieran, I have been meaning to speak with you.” His uncle started. “I wanted to apologize for the things I have done in the past. I don’t know what it was but sitting in your position as the King I couldn’t control my power hunger. I craved more and in returned I lost sight of what was important. I hurt your father when he had always been there for me.”
Kieran could feel the regret coming from his uncle. Thaddeus was repenting everyday for all his mistakes. Glancing at his uncle, he also felt no anger. Yes, he was upset that Thaddeus can be so cruel to his mate but at the same time his uncle raised him ever since he was a kid. His uncle could have done much worse and toss him out or killed him to eliminate anyone who can challenge him but instead after his parents died, his uncle took Kieran under his wing.
“I might have challenged you for your position but you are also a very resourceful person, uncle. I want to keep you on the council if you are willing.” He offered.
Thaddeus gave a genuine smile then. “I am more than happy to help guide you along your reign as our King and you can rest assure that I have changed my opinion on woman.”
He glanced over at Aunt Ruth who smirked in response to her mate’s answer.
Forgiveness is a process. Everyone knows that and in order to forgive you need to let go of the dark feelings you harbor for that person and in return that person has to show true regret in order to forgive.
Regardless, Kieran was happy for Aunt Ruth and Thaddeus. He wished them the best as they have always been there for him.
