Chapter 12
I had no idea what I was looking at. It looked like a crown. It was golden in color. It was shaped like an oval at the center of it. Around the center was three rounded spokes. There was an arch that came out of each end of the crown that linked together with these three flat-oval-shapes that consecutively got smaller as it went up.
“What is that?” I asked as we walked in. Olga walked in and locked the door behind her. “And how did you get the key for here?”
“I am a senior Time Trapper,” Olga said showing her card which was platinum in color. “Platinum rank.”
“Damn,” I said impressed by her. “So, what is this thing?”
“That my friend, is how we are even able to travel through time.” Olga said pointing at the crown. I looked at her and then looked at the crown.
“That thing?” I asked skeptically.
“That is the crown of Kali,” Olga said.
“So, it’s a vegetable?” I asked.
“Kali, not Kale you idiot,” Olga gave a chuckle.
“So, you do laugh!” I said.
“Hey, I’ve laughed plenty,” she said slapping me.
“Fine,” I said. “So, who the hell is Kali?”
“The goddess of time?” she said, and I stared at her blankly.
“Don’t tell me you haven’t heard of the Devas?” Olga asked.
“No, I’ve heard of them,” I said. “But what does a fairy tale have to do with that crown?”
“That crown belonged to Kali,” Olga said.
“Uh huh,” I said looking at it skeptically.
“And it isn’t a fairy tale, that is a genuine star builder artifact.” Olga said.
I rolled my eyes.
“Oh, hell your one of those skeptics?” Olga said.
“No offense Olga, I prefer something solid, factual, and not some old wives tale that should have died out with the cavemen.” I said shrugging.
“That is your proof it is not just a tale!” Olga said.
“So, you mean to tell me that some ancient relic that belonged to the supposed goddess of time is sitting there just merrily?” I said pointing at it.
“Well…yes.” She said.
“And it’s just sitting here like no big whoop?” I asked.
“There is a big whoop, like you call it,” Olga said.
“But you just waltzed in here no problem.”
“I zidn’t just waltz in here,” Olga said. “I used my platinum card.”
It was the first time I had noticed that if I flustered her enough, her accent flared up a lot. I thought it was cute as hell.
“Wait…how many people have that card?” I asked.
“What?” Olga asked.
“How many people can come in here?” I asked differently.
“Oh, they will have to be at least platinum ranked.” She said.
“And I supposed its you, the chief and who else?” I asked.
“I zont know maybe a few others.” Olga said her accent flaring up again.
Don’t fantasize about her don’t fantasize about her. I told myself.
I wasn’t sure if it was going to work chanting that to myself in my mind, but I had to try, I think. I was happy I hadn’t teleported again, maybe the Chronotons were running out of me.
“So, whoever time-napped me has to have access to this crown,” I concluded. I put my hand in position for a high-five, but Olga ignored me. “Oh, come on leaving me hanging?”
Olga thought that over and she had her thinking face on. Even her thinking face was adorable. Damn it! Don’t fantasize about her don’t fantasize about her! Maybe it was working I hadn’t teleported yet.
“Maybe,” she frowned.
“What’s with the doubt?” I asked.
“Because that really only leaves the director as a prime suspect.” Olga said.
“But Paula wouldn’t do that,” I said.
“How do you know?” Olga asked.
I thought of that for a moment and shrugged.
“Hey, I just thought of something. If I am being time-napped shouldn’t there be someone being sent back to time trap me?” I asked.
“That’s it!” Olga said happily she reached out and gave me a deep kiss.
“Wha…” I said I swear I had never been kissed by anyone like that before. “Your making it hard for me not to fantasize about you!”
“But I know how to fix you!” She said.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I will open a time napping case on you and will go back to stop you from being time napped.” She said.
“Oh, wow I could just fuck you right now,” I said.
“Don’t talk like that I can’t have you jumping on me before I can go back.” Olga said smiling a bit mischievously.
“That did have a double meaning!” I said.
Olga quickly started typing onto a computer nearby. She opened a Time napper file on me. And she assigned herself to it. A second later the glass with the information printed out. We headed off to the chronotraveler room together. She got her armor on. And looked over at me.
“Please don’t jump,” Olga said.
“I’ll try,” I said.
“Promise?” Olga said.
“I promise.” I said.
