Into The Unknown World

Chapter 24 - Dating

Grayson offered me his hand as he walked around to my door and opened it. I lifted a brow as I took the hand and climbed out, looking around at the park, knowing this was something new and different, but nice.

“A different place for a date.”

“Hey, you have quite a bit of history that I need to be different for. You know, think outside the box so I can make sure to keep your attention,” he said as he started walking, still holding on to my hand. I tugged on his hand, causing him to stop and to turn back around to face me, my head tilted just slightly.

“Grayson, you need to know, that in all my years, I haven’t dated anyone; lovers, yes, but dating no, it’s never been my thing. So all of this, any of this, is new to me, it’s already different and unique.” I cupped his cheek and smiled. “And I love it all.” He smiled as his other hand cupped my chin lightly and pulled my lips against his in one of the sweetest, softest kisses I had ever had. He finally pulled away and I looked up at him and smiled.

“Come on.” He led us to a picnic table that had some candles and a picnic basket and sat down next to me. “Want some wine?”

“Are you going to make me eat?” I asked him, lifting a brow, recalling our first dinner.

“If you want.” I laughed as I took his hand, letting my fingers play with his before kissing each finger tip, then his palm and kissing over his wrist before piercing the vein again and drinking a bit. He closed his eyes and moaned as I closed up the wound and spit the blood out in a wine glass.

“I’m starting to think, babe, that you really enjoy that.” He smirked and nodded at me.

“I just may. You got to admit, biting is erotic.” I couldn’t, nor wouldn’t, fault him on that. There would always be something erotic behind that.

“True.” I took a sip of the wine and then took his hand again, running my finger over his vein.

“This is a gorgeous night.” I glanced over at him as he grabbed a couple items out of the basket and handed me a bite of cheese. “This is your dinner?”

“No, this is a snack for us.” I turned and looked at him, seeing how pleased he was with this and how thoughtful.

“You know that you could have eaten, right? You didn’t have to have snack food, just for me.” I took the cheese as he held it to my lips and leaned over to my ear.

“Oh I know and I did have dinner. But the thought of being able to feed you was too damn tempting to pass up.” He kissed over my neck and I closed my eyes. “And snack food is just about all you eat.”

“Well, I can’t fault that logic.” He grinned as he grabbed a piece of meat and held it between his lips and leaned closer. I smirked as I watched him, making sure to nip his lip as I took it and kissed him. His hand came up and rested along the back of my neck as he deepened the kiss. He tongue slipped out and ran over my lips and I quickly met his tongue with mine, a soft moan escaping from the back of my throat

Fuck, he could do amazing numbers to me and it wasn’t fair. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I switched positions and quickly moved to face him, straddling his lap. His hands ran over my hips, my thighs and then moved to cup my ass, holding me in place, this time a moan coming from him.

“Fire,” he mumbled as I broke the kiss and moved to kiss along his neck.

“Hmm?” I nipped along it and moved to his shoulder, moving his shirt aside, running both my tongue and my teeth over the skin there.

“I think we need to move past the fling. I think both you and I know this goes beyond that. That you and I are more destined than we want to admit.” I pulled back and looked at him in the eye, knowing the words he spoke were the truth. After all, didn’t I just tell myself that very same thing just a bit ago?

“Are you sure?”

“Do you think it’s smart to really fight this pull we both feel?” I cupped his cheeks and kissed him again.

“I think you might have a point.” He wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me. I rested my head on his shoulder as he held me and I could easily admit that this was amazing and that I felt so safe, something I had never felt, nor did it ever dawn on me that I needed to. Being 1400 plus years old, I would think I had to feel safe, but no, he sure gave me a sense of peace that I had been missing, even unknowingly.

“Want to go swing?” I finally lifted my head and turned behind me, catching the swing set and smiled like a little girl. Who in the right mind didn’t love to swing?

“Sure.” I moved to get up, holding onto his hand, as both of our phones went off. I swiped open my screen and looked at it before looking at Grayson; they had gotten the lab results back and wanted to see us right away, both doctors being present.
