Chapter 92
Early in the morning, Zoe was ironing Mason's shirts in the master bedroom’s dressing room, selecting a suitable tie. She knew today was the shareholders’ meeting at Lockwood Corporation, and to showcase his status, she even picked a tie pin.
Someone embraced her delicate figure.
Zoe was slightly surprised. After their unpleasantness last night, she thought he would be distant for a few days. Mason did not mention the movie ticket incident.
He held his wife's slender waist, evaluating the tie pin in his hand. His voice was warm. “It was inconvenient when you weren't home."
Zoe smiled lightly. “I'm back now."
Just as she finished speaking, Mason turned her around.
He pressed her against a transparent glass display cabinet, lifting her slightly. Zoe half-sat on his left leg. The bathrobe was pulled aside as her husband held her body, toying with her.
It was still early, but Mason did not care.
He was not really in the mood for anything particularly salacious. He lazily groped her while casually asking, "You're back, but is your heart back too?"
Zoe felt like he had lost the plot.
In their marital relationship, feelings were never mentioned.
However, she did not want to offend him. After all, she would always be the one to bear the brunt of his anger In the end, so she obediently embraced his neck.
"Mason, you might need to hurry if you want to do something. The shareholders’ meeting is at nine, and you have to leave by eight.” Mason suddenly lost interest.
He let go of her to go to the bathroom to freshen up. His voice came from there. "When did you take over Ava's job?"
Zoe lightly flicked her long hair, smiling gently. “I thought you'd like it." In the bathroom, Mason looked at himself in the mirror, hearing Zoe's words and revealing a slight smile.
“Mrs. Lockwood is so hypocritical.’
After seeing Mason off, Zoe returned to the second floor and practiced the piano for a while.
Around noon, David contacted her to discuss the details of her apprenticeship under Aiden.
Zoe made an appointment with him at their usual place.
David was efficient. When they met, he took out a contract and said softly, "Starting next year, Aiden will hold 32 classical concerts globally. He hopes you'll be the secondary performer, with a minimum of six pieces per concert. This contract represents Aiden's commitment. Zoe, this has never happened before. Aiden has never appreciated someone like this, and he hasn't officially taken an apprentice that he has ever treated so highly."
He continued, "Aiden is using his reputation to vouch for you."
Zoe cherished this opportunity. Naturally, she would not decline.
Later, David sent her downstairs, displaying grace as he opened the car door for her. Zoe bid him farewell, and the smiles exchanged between them were captured by a camera. However, only David's back was caught.
Zoe got into the car, and the driver turned to ask, "Mrs. Zoe, are you going back to the mansion?"
Seeing it was still early, Zoe replied lightly, "Go to Samphia Hospital." Half an hour later, Zoe arrived at the VIP rehabilitation center of Samphia Hospital.
Gordon had switched to a better room.
Coupled with Liam's return and Mia's ambiguous words, he could guess that Zoe had returned to Mason's side. Although Gordon was delighted that his eldest son had hope, he could not help but feel sad for his youngest daughter's sacrifice, not saying much for a long time. Zoe sat for a while and then left.
Mia followed her, hesitated momentarily, and softly said, "Don't blame your dad. He hasn't been doing well these past few days. He doesn't talk much and is hardly eating.”
Tears could not help but well up in her eyes as she spoke.
Zoe helped her wipe away the tears, speaking gently, "How could I blame Dad? Mia, I just feel useless. If I had been more capable, I wouldn't need to return to Mason's side."
