Chapter 150
"What is it?" Though not yet 30, Mason was known for his calm demeanor in the business world. It was a force to be reckoned with. However, what Ava said next threw him into a panic.
Speaking in a hushed tone, Ava said, "Did you agree to let Lilith do a photoshoot for a keepsake? It was originally my responsibility, but with the wedding preparations keeping me busy, I delegated the task to an assistant.
"The assistant misunderstood the situation. They actually gave the keys to Kirk Manor to the Wright family. Early this morning, Lilith did a photoshoot inside, and she even posted it on Facebook with a caption that's quite over the top. 'The one who isn't loved is the real mistress.""
Mason's grip on his phone turned white. In the next five seconds, he devised a plan.
"Immediately contact the person in charge at Facebook. Make sure they delete Lilith's Facebook post at all costs. I don't want Zoe to see this."
"I'll do my best! But by now, the post has already been shared 100,000 times. Retracting it won't make much of a difference... I'm sorry, Mr. Mason, it's my fault!"
Silence filled the air.
After a while, Mason spoke softly, "Even so, it has to be retracted."
Ending the call, he looked at Zoe.
Zoe was still standing in the middle of the stage, the lights still shining on her. However, she no longer looked radiant but rather pale.
She had seen Lilith's Facebook post and read the provocative words. She didn't care about that.
What bothered her was Lilith boldly entering Kirk Manor, entering her parents' former love nest.
Lilith was Mason's mistress.
As it turned out, Kirk Manor was purchased by Mason.
Now, he was indulging his mistress, allowing her to wear a pristine wedding dress and trampling through her mother's once sacred place, taking those seemingly innocent yet enticing photos.
Zoe's heart shattered into pieces.
This was a colossal disgrace for her and the entire Sanders family.
This humiliation was brought upon her by Mason, the man who always claimed to be her husband, who said he wanted to start anew with her. He always spoke about wanting her love but never showed his worth.
Zoe looked at Mason, her eyes filled not only with unfamiliarity but also with hatred.
Finally, the most important thing to her was casually destroyed by Mason.
She could only imagine what people would say about her mother.
It would be about how she had an incapable daughter who allowed the child of a driver and maid to trample and disgrace her. She only brought shame to the family. Their family reputation would be ruined
"Actually, what Lilith said isn't wrong. The one who isn't loved is the mistress. Mason, no matter how much history we have, I always thought we could move past it. Even if we got divorced, we could still part ways amicably. After all, we grew up together. But now... you let your woman flaunt herself and stomp on everything that I am, showing off to the whole world. Mason, do I still have any dignity left? Does my father still have any dignity left?"
Zoe slapped him across the face. "Mason, you make me sick!" Zoe's chest heaved violently.
