Chapter 561
Chapter 561 Shocking
Charlie lowered his head, somewhat at a loss, and whispered, "I know that his incident has indeed caused considerable losses to the Martin Group. I also understand that he is not worthy of sympathy or pity. I just feel sorry for his parents, wife and children. I have watched him grow up. To be honest, I am also responsible for the way he has become."
Although he knew I shouldn't beg for mercy, Charlie felt he had to do it.
Charlie had a very humble attitude. He kept his head slightly lowered while he talked. He spoke sincerely, and his attitude was very harmonious.
But Benjamin would not let go of anyone who hurt the Martin Group, so he finally refused.
Charlie didn't say anything since there was no hope. He just wanted to give it a try.
But just as he was about to get up and leave, Benjamin said slowly, "He was not the mastermind in this incident. He was just used. The Martin Group and this industry will definitely not tolerate him, and I can't be so soft-hearted as to plead for him. All I can guarantee is that the prosecution can handle the matter however they want, and I will not continue to sue him in the name of the Martin Group."
Benjamin was not soft-hearted. He just left a trace of comfort to Charlie.
Charlie thanked him repeatedly before leaving the office.
Benjamin did it not because he didn't care about the Martin Group, but because things had already happened, and there was no point in holding on to it.
There were too many enemies in this circle. He could not treat everyone as an enemy, but more of them must be partners.
Benjamin leaned on the sofa and reached out to light a cigarette. He brought it to his mouth and took a puff. Then he later realized that he had smoked very frequently recently and immediately put it out as soon as he remembered it.
When he went to the Martin Manor during the day, Paul didn't answer whether he wanted Harper to go to the Martin Manor or not.
After thinking about it carefully at this moment of silence, he finally made a phone call.
It was quickly picked up.
The speaker asked somewhat anxiously, "Is there a problem?"
"Is it convenient tomorrow?" he asked calmly.
The other party said, "Well, what to do?"
"Do you want to go to the villa to pick up Harper and bring her back to the apartment? I think she will be very happy if you go to pick her up." He spoke in a low voice.
The person on the other end fell silent, and after a brief silence, he asked, "Why don't you pick her up yourself? I think she'd be happier if you did."
"Ms. Jones, are you sure she will still want to see me after I locked her up for so long?"
Benjamin put on an insincere smile. It didn't look like a smile but something with a subtle mockery.
Annie said calmly, "How do you know she doesn't want to see you?"
Annie knew what Harper was thinking. If Benjamin was willing to pick her up, Harper would be happy, right?
But Benjamin didn't agree or refuse. He just said, "You go, so you can accompany her to the hospital to see her grandma, okay?"
"Okay."
"Thanks."
He said seriously.
"You're welcome."
Annie didn't quite understand what
he meant On the one hand, he seemed very cold towards Harper, but on the other hand, he was very meticulous and considerate about matters related to Harper.
She sighed silently and didn't ask too much about this couple.
After Benjamin finished his phone call with Annie, he ended his work early and drove to the hospital.
He hadn't been here recently, so he just took advantage of the time today to visit Eleanor, which would pave the way for Harper to come and see her tomorrow.
Eleanor was very happy to see Benjamin.
However, she was obviously disappointed because she didn't see Harper. She asked, "Why didn't she come with you?"
"She is staying with Grandpa in the Martin Manor There has been a lot of things recently. I asked her to go back to the Martin Manor to live for a while. She is pregnant. Too many things will affect her mood and
health. That's why she has not come to see you these days. Are you angry?"
"How come? It's a good idea that you arranged it this way." Eleanor believed in his words.
