Chapter 452: Blood is Thicker than Water
A loud swooshing sound awoke everyone from the shock of the giant snake's disappearance. They felt the massive aura of the attack, miles away from them and they could only watch it explode from a distant.
"What power," Connor said in awe as he stared at the giant sphere-shaped explosion. "If Irus did not redirect that, we would've perished."
Elliot could only watch the explosion at the distant. He was scared that Irus was injured, after all, even when the demon was powerful, he has his limits too. He was still a mortal and can still get hurt when faced with power.
Irus even said it himself, the power that Xing, Qing, and Lady Hao have are the ones that can dominate over him. If they were to get serious into battling him, Irus wouldn't stand a chance.
"That was harder than I thought."contemporary romance
Elliot awoke from his thoughts after he heard the man's voice. He looked up and saw Irus there, hovering over them with not a single scratch on his body. He lowered himself back on the island's ground, smirking.
"Did I make you sh*t your pants?" Irus chuckled. "Judging from your look, I did."
"Shut up," Allen scoffed. Irus just laughed and walked closer to the cottage. He was walking so well that anyone might think that he didn't just battle a giant snake that nearly wiped them off of the face of the realm.
As Irus stepped forward, a feeling of a heavy tension exloded from inside the cottage. This made Irus stop in his tracks and raise his hands defensively. He narrowed his eyes and created a black barrier around each of them. "Stand back. There's something inside this cottage."
"I…" a voice came from inside of the house. "I smell a demon."
"You have a good nose," Irus smirked. A sudden burst of energy jet out from the cottage, bombarding the door open as a white light entity came out and circled the entire island. "I never saw such thing in my thousands of years of my life."
"That's because you were asleep for the most of it," Lady Hao said as she too walked out of the house. She was still carrying her fan, covering her face while glaring at Irus. "Your technique was good, but you don't have that much power against me."
"That makes sense," Irus chuckled. "I don't really want to trap you inside. What fun would I have if I did?"
Lady Hao clenched her teeth and growled. "Pest! You don't talk to someone like me like that. You don't deserve your life!"
The yellow light that was encircling the island stopped its movements. It hovered above the cottage, slowly lowering itself until it reached the roof, manifesting a shape.
"D-Don't tell me…" Elliot trailed off as he pointed at the light. "Lady Hao, is that–"
A sudden burst of force exploded from the light. The power was too intense that it was shaking the entire island, making everyone drop to their knees.
The light slowly dissipated as it showed its form, a tall man with blonde hair and closed eyes. His skin was white like porcelain and his figure was like it was sculpted by the gods themselves.
The man opened his eyes, revealing his multicolored irises. It was like the entire night sky filled with brightly colored stars were in his eyes, looking at them with a melancholic expression.
"Ha!" Lady Hao chuckled. "You think this is still your friend? Let me tell you something about him, the Prince of Terra. He doesn't belong in this era."
"What do you mean?" Hope asked, looking at his father figure who was like a different person. Lance's skin was glowing, making the boy look with worried eyes. "That's my father."
"Pathetic lizard," Lady Hao laughed. "You think your realm's Eternal is your father? You know nothing, boy!"
"But what do you mean when you said Lance doesn't belong in this era?" Elliot asked. "Tell us about it."
Lady Hao looked up to look at Lance who was still in a daze. "He belongs in the past, the original Child of Light. When his father left him to seek out the rest of the world so he could unite them, my daughter went to me.
"I was one of the original cultivators, the founders of cultivation. When I met the One Sun, he said that he will give my daughter a better life," Lady Hao then kept her fan and clenched it tightly, her hands shaking with the intensity of her grip. "But when he got her pregnant, he left and sought more women to impregnate."
"He's a b*stard then," Connor scoffed. "If he acted like that, then he doesn't deserve the glory that he has now."
Lady Hao smirked, "My daughter wasn't a cultivator, so when she gave birth to Lance, she was in the brink of death. I did my best to stop the time around her so she wouldn't die, this included Lance. Thousands of years had passed and one of the Trinity Dragons betrayed me.
"Xing, Qing, and their elder sister WangWang," Lady Hao said. "The elder sister took Lance away from my time zone, this broke the spell and killed my daughter. Then she abandoned us and left to go West. I never saw him since. But now that Lance returned home, I can finally rest easy."
"No," Hope sobbed. He walked closer to the cottage while his eyes were looking at Lance. "Father, you said you'll take care of me."
"Pathetic lizard," Lady Hao growled. "I told you, he is not your father. His real name is Zhan and he is the Prince of Terra."
"But father–"
"Blood is thicker than water!" Lady Hao yelled, shaking the island by its force. "You think you're his son with a made-up relationship? No. Bullsh*t."
Lady Hao raised her closed fan and formed a sphere of power on the tip. She was about to shoot it towards Hope when a hand stopped her.
"You are so wrong," Lance chuckled. "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb."
