Human King

Chapter 67: Count (7)

Dawn walked off towards his goblins after spitting those words.

At least, he planned to, but he couldn't.

After all, he collapsed on the spot after just walking three to four steps.

Thud!

He made a loud sound as his body plopped to the ground. His body was huge and full of muscles; his weight and mass aren't something to laugh at.

"King!" Didi shouted as he started running to the spot where his king was resting.

The enemy goblins who were kneeling all stood up at some point and was ready to attack Dawn, who was currently receiving the Blessings of the Battlefield.

"Bastards!!" Didi was desperate in trying to reach his king in time.

However, he clearly wouldn't be able to prevent the goblins from attacking the king.

After all, they were four steps away from Dawn while Didi was about a dozen steps away or so.

"Fucking cowar-!!" Didi was about to rip himself from rage and curse his enemies for a lifetime if ever they reached the king.

However...

Boom!

...He couldn't after seeing an explosion occur right before the goblins who tried to sneak attack his king.

Then, he heard a voice.

"Bomba!" "Bomba!" Two goblins were shouting furiously, and it seems they were the ones making the explosions.

However, Didi and the others didn't look back at those two goblins.

They knew who they were, but they didn't expect them to be able to protect the king from far away.

The two goblins, Gragia and Ika, who didn't show off any of their brilliance before, were now trying to take the highlights of this battle!

"Bombaaaa!" Ika shouted out loud.

Something came out of her hand and flew to where the goblins were standing.

Although its firepower wasn't enough to kill them, it was still sufficient to keep them on the bay.

She didn't have to kill them; she just had to protect the king until her allies get to his side.

And when some time passed, Didi and Una were the first ones to show up beside the king.

Hig and Dal soon showed up, and soon more and more blessed goblins showed up from left and right, trying to protect Dawn.

Soon, the 7 goblins were outnumbered and were forced to back down.

Karkas and the Elder who arrived last was the finisher of their death sentence.

Of course, in times like these, when Dawn was out, Karkas was the one who holds power to move them.

And since Karkas has it, and he knows it as well, he raised his hand, his finger pointing to the 7 goblins.

"Kill them all!!!" His thunderous voice resounded out in his allies' ears and struck fear in his enemies' hearts.

"Shit..." One of the enemy goblins murmured as he saw the enemies rushing at him.

At first, he was strong enough to contend with Dawn with his village chief and brothers, but now...he was just trash.

And due to their lack of Aura from their earlier expenditure, all of them died a cruel and pathetic death.

"Whew. Just in time." Ika said as she finally arrived at where her king was.

"Yes. It was good that you notice it, otherwise..."

Gragia murmured the possibility of the goblins passing through their barrage.

He shuddered just at the thought of it.

It was then.

"Hey! That was some nice work, you two!" Didi shouted out while waving his head, gesturing them to come over.

By his side was the king, who had his body glowing under the dark and night sky.

Ika and Gragia walked towards Didi, and Ika asked Didi something.

"Where's Karkas? Won't we need to bring the king back for his safety?"

"Karkas' off to talk to the remnants of the enemy. The king talked with their chief, after all. As for the king..."

It was then.

An old and sonorous voice interrupted between the two. It was the Elder.

"We won't move the king. We don't know where our village will be, now that we have over a thousand goblins. So, we will wait for the king to wake up."

"Elder! Right, I have a question for you!"

"Question for me?"

The Elder's voice seemed doubtful that Ika had a question for him. After all, Ika was already a blessed goblin.

She could find out most of the things she wanted to know by just doing things her own way, yet here she was, asking the Elder.

This piqued his interest, and so the Elder answered with a 'What is it?' with an interesting look on his face.

"Hmm. How should I say it...Ah!"

Ika then nodded her head before continuing.

"We've been fighting for lots of hours now, right? We've taken down many, many strong goblins! Yet, none of us are evolving or being blessed by the battlefield. Isn't that weird?"

It was then.

The Elder's piqued and interested look disappeared when a look of shock overcame him.

What Ika said was true, and this made him think for a moment.

The Blessings of the Battlefield that he knows would bless anyone even if that particular goblin were in a dangerous situation.

However, now, the Blessings of the Battlefield wasn't doing that.

Well, except for Dawn.

"N-now that you talk of it...it is weird."

The Blessings of the Battlefield is considered as a pillar to any goblin. Its existence is comparable to the king.

It was known to even a normal goblin that couldn't think.

That is why when you take the Blessings of the Battlefield out from the grasp of any goblin, they become a child without a parent.

The goblins, without the Blessings of the Battlefield, become lost.

Having the Blessings of the Battlefield, which acted the same way in every situation, could be considered assurance to the goblins.

Now...what would happen to those goblins who noticed that the Blessings of the Battlefield is acting strangely?

Either way, they'll leave it to the other existence that could compare with the Blessings of the Battlefield.

"Hmmm. But, the king is receiving the Blessings of the Battlefield."

"That's right, Elder. Maybe this is because of the king?"

"What do you mean, Ika?"

Ika took her time before answering. She didn't want to put any mud to the king's name.

"Maybe the appearance of the king here, instead of in the Five Great Clans, affected the Blessings of the Battlefield?"

"Hmm. You have a point. Anyway, this isn't something we can answer. We'll wait for the king to wake up."

The goblins near the Elder all shouted "Understood!" and went away to look for tasks available to them.

The Elder then turned around to look at the white shining piece of a block in the ground. The light was so intense now that the previous incident of the king evolving's light couldn't be compared to now.

Seeing that light, the Elder murmured.contemporary romance

"King, will you guide us...?"

A hint of sadness and impatience could be heard in the Elder's voice.

---What is this place...

Dawn thought as he felt his consciousness return to him.

However, even though he felt being here, he also felt that he was not here.

Dawn felt alive, yet he also felt being dead.

It was quite a bizarre experience.

However, even if Dawn denies it, the fact is that he is here, experiencing it himself.

---It's dark...or not?

As Dawn was only able to feel his consciousness existing in this place, he wasn't able to tell what kind of a place it is.

Is it dark? Is it the forest? Heaven or hell?

No matter what it was, Dawn didn't know.

While he was confused about why or how he was here, the more he felt at home.

---It's comfortable...

Dawn could feel his non-existent muscles relax in here while also having peace of mind.

The more he felt comfortable, the more he felt that this place was his home.

And when he took a relaxing posture as if he was sitting on a sofa with his consciousness, a voice interrupted him.

It wasn't really a voice, but Dawn perceived it as a voice.

[The Blessings of the Battlefield is sending the interrupted message]

[...You...will...die...]

[...Out...of...the...Three...Invincible...sins, you...]

[The Blessings of the Battlefield has ended the message due to Dawn's lack of power]

---Hmm. This, again?

Dawn received this message before, but Dawn didn't really take it seriously.

He doesn't need to. If he dies, he dies.

That's it.

There's no need to discuss what happens after he dies because he's not a part of it.

The next goblin who will be considered as the top dog will lead his goblin forces.

However, he doesn't plan to die so easily.

He would fight back with all of his strength.

He would fight back even with his limbs cut off.

He would fight back even if his soul is the only thing left.

After all, the responsibility of his subordinate's lives all rest on his shoulders.

Either way, Dawn would live like a candle, or he would die as a firework.

---Oh, I'm returning.

Dawn thought as he felt the sensation of his consciousness getting back into his body.

When he opened his eyes again, a new world was waiting for him.
