His Ex wife is a billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus)

Chapter 70

Chapter 70

The familiar yet foreign voice halted, and Thaddeus immediately spotted the man before him moving with a speed and grace that was almost ghost-like, Elvis was making bold moves, clearly aiming to strike him hard; each punch was fierce and swift like lightning.

Thaddeus furrowed his brows, his large figure dodging twice.

“Not bad; your skills are pretty decent.” Elvis squinted his eyes, his tone filled with sarcasm.

Thaddeus’s eyes sparkled, and he took a deep breath.

He had retired many years ago, and although he still practiced boxing from time to time, it had been a while since he engaged in a fierce brawl with someone.

The only things he could rely on were his solid foundational skills and muscle memory.

After a few rounds of sparring with this big guy. Thaddeus suddenly realized that he was somewhat familiar with his opponent’s moves.

His actions had hints of the close combat techniques they learned in military school.

Who the hell was this guy?

“Ah!!” Thaddeus was caught off guard when Elvis landed a kick on his abdomen. The intense pain left him agape, but he didn’t fall; he only sta ggered back a couple of steps.

What a tough ba stard!

“Mr. Thaddeus!”

Gordon, witnessing the scene, gasped and ran over to support him, panting heavily. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine.” Thaddeus suppressed the pain, giving a soft cough.

“Blo ody hell you dare hit Mr. Thaddeus?! I’ll fight you to the death!” Gordon was so angry that his face turned red; he darted towards Elvis without thinking.

“Gordon! Get back!”

Thaddeus tried to stop him, but it was too late.

Gordon was no match for Elvis, rushing over like this was simply seeking his own death.

“Ha, what an overestimation of one’s capabilities!”

Sure enough, Gordon’s punch didn’t even touch Elvis’s collar; he was knocked out by a single punch from Elvis.

Thaddeus was instantly fuming: “I’m sure I know you! Who the hell are you?”

Elvis just smirked and raised an eyebrow.

They certainly knew each other. They both studied at the same military school and were well-known figures there, but they just didn’t have any interaction outside of training.

“You want to know who’s the most important person in my life, don’t you? Well, I don’t mind telling you.”

Elvis strode over Gordon and took a couple of steps towards Thaddeus, grinning wickedly.

“The person I care about is your ex-wife.”

Thaddeus’s pupils constricted sharply, his fingers trembling as he clenched his fists.

“You’re asking for death!”

Thaddeus’s muscular body tightened under his gray suit, radiating anger and fury.

In the next moment, he charged at Elvis like a thunderbolt; their fists and feet clashed, full of vigor.

Elvis’s eyes darkened, and he found that even though Thaddeus was no longer a soldier, his moves were still as swift as before, and despite his sophisticated suit, he moved incredibly agile. He was not to be underestimated.

It was like he was a bada ss gangster from a movie!

After dozens of rounds, Thaddeus gradually began to lose ground. The effects of his drunkenness hadn’t worn off yet, his limbs were weak, and he felt dizzy. It was a miracle he could still hold on till now.

Finally, he was knocked to the ground by Elvis, and a surge of severe pain shot through his back.

“Ba stard, go to hell.”

Just as Elvis was about to kick Thaddeus again to vent his anger, another man suddenly appeared.

“You dare to harm my friend at Elmsworth? You’re really pushing your luck!”

Jareth ran over at top speed and stood in front of Thaddeus, his brows furrowed and his eyes filled with rage.

“Another one, what a nuisance.”

Elvis squinted his eyes, and just as he was about to move, he froze.

Facing him was the barrel of a gun.

Jareth had somehow pulled out a gun and pointed it straight at Elvis’s head!

“Don’t come any closer! Or I’ll shoot!”

Jareth was actually scared too; he witnessed the fight between the two when he just arrived and immediately came to a conclusion.

He had to use a weapon!

“Jareth, don’t be rash!” Thaddeus managed to breathe, his abdomen spasm in pain.

“Thad, are you alright? He nearly hurt you, and you’re asking me to hold back?!” Jareth was livid: “If you don’t want to die, then get lost, or I swear I’ll shoot! The Jareth family can make you disappear from Elmsworth without a trace, no problem!”

Elvis didn’t care at all; he took another step forward, his eyes cold and ruthless.

15:19

“Thad, run!” Jareth yelled, his heart pounding as he pulled the trigger.

“Jareth! Stop!”

Bang!

The gun went off but the bullet didn’t hit Elvis.

“Ugh, it hurts.”

Evadne, who had suddenly appeared, tightly held onto Elvis, and the bullet hit her left shoulder!

Although it wasn’t a real bullet, it was still powerful!

Evadne was sweating profusely from the pain, her body trembling.

But even so, she held onto Elvis firmly; she wouldn’t let go no matter what happened.

Thaddeus was shocked, his heart plummeting as if he had fallen from a tall building!

Every part of his body ached, but all these pains combined couldn’t compare to the shock of Ilana taking a bullet for this man.

His wife, even if she was his ex-wife, when she saw her ex-husband being attacked, she didn’t think of him first but protected the man who tried to hurt him!

llana, how could she do this to him?

She was completely betraying him and she was an accomplice!

“Ilana!”

Elvis’s eyes widened. He held onto Evadne’s shaky shoulder, and when he opened his hand, it was covered in blood!

He gasped. Hatred exploded in his heart; the pain was like a knife twisting in his heart.

“Ba stard! I’ll kill you!”

Jareth was stunned then the gun in his hand suddenly dropped to the ground.

Ilana appeared too quickly so he didn’t have time to react. Otherwise, how could he have fired that shot?

“Elvis.”

Evadne leaned gently into him, whispering into his shoulder, “If you still want me to see you as a brother, you better scram! Or else, I’ll never forgive you!”

“But Ilana.”

Evadne shot him a fiery glare, pushing Elvis away without a second thought.

A pang of anxiety hit Elvis. He knew Evadne was truly pis sed off. If he didn’t leave, he’d lose her.

So, swallowing the heartache, he left quickly, arranging for Cas sius to take Evadne to the hospital.

Evadne breathed a temporary sigh of relief, rushing to check on Thaddeus’s injuries while completely ignoring her own wounds.

“Mr. Jareth, get the ambulance here now. Both of them need to go to the hospital,”

“But you’re injured too! You need to be treated right away!” Jareth was wracked with guilt.

“I know my own body; it’s nothing serious.”

Evadne gritted her teeth, reaching out to do a preliminary check on Thaddeus.

*Stop being a drama queen, Ilana. Get lost.” Thaddeus was laying on the ground, panting, his eyes filled with anger.

He was mad because she had helped a criminal escape but was more worried about her worsening injury, hoping that she’d see a doctor right away.

TII leave once I’ve checked you out. I’ll be out of your hair.”

Evadne lowered her head, insisting on checking his leg with her own hands.

His face was bruised, his lips blo ody, and his once pristine suit was now dirty.

How could she not feel heartbroken? That playful Elvis had really gone overboard.

‘I said, leave now! Don’t you get it?” Thaddeus, furious and worried, shouted at her.

“No way! You have old injuries. I can’t take this lightly! I need to make sure you’re okay before I leave!” Evadne snapped back, her eyes red with frustration.

Thaddeus stared at Evadne’s beautiful, serious face, filled with confusion.

How did she know about his old injuries? Did Jareth tell her?

Soon, the ambulance arrived, taking Thaddeus and Gordon to the nearest hospital.

Luckily, Thaddeus’s injuries were superficial. Tthere was no damage to the muscles or bones, and his old injury hadn’t flared up, allowing Evadne to finally breathe easy.

In the hospital, Jareth never left Evadne’s side, except for when the doctor was removing the bullet from her shoulder.

“How is it? Did it hit the bone?”

Jareth’s heart was in his throat as he saw her walk out of the treatment room, looking pale.

Evadne smiled faintly, shaking her head. “Just a few stitches, no big deal,”

‘Just a few stitches. You think that’s no big deal?”

Jareth’s heart sk ipped a beat; he was on edge. “Will there be any complications? Will it affect your movement? Ilana, you can’t hide the truth from me; you have to tell me!” Evadne was puzzled, joking in a soft tone. “The way you’re talking, it’s like if I’m not badly hurt, I’d be letting you down. So what if I really was hurt and couldn’t move my arm anymore? What would you do then?”

“I’d marry you.”

Evadne’s beautiful eyes widened slightly. “What?”

Chapter 70

Jareth’s throat bobbed, his eyes turning red, his voice h oa rse but firm. “I’d always take responsibility for you. Ilana, If you were really hurt, I’d marry you, I would never let you suffer any more wrongs!”
