Chapter 188
"At least wait until the house is sold before getting divorced!" "Say something! You can't just keep ignoring my messages!"
Lily did want to reply, but even if she did, Hazel would just have endless things to say, trying to convince her not to divorce,
After thinking it over, she replied, "We've already gone to the courthouse to file for divorce. After the one-month cooling-off period, we'll go straight to get the divorce certificate."
It had been two hours since Hazel sent her the last message. When Hazel received the message, she jumped in shock, opened it, and walked over to Bobby, holding onto a shred of hope.
"Honey, there's still a month of cooling-off period. Maybe by now, Lily is pregnant with Xavier's child. The pregnancy will definitely show within a month, so the divorce won't happen..."
Bobby didn't believe it at all and shoved her aside. "What if she's not pregnant? They'll just go get the divorce certificate in a month. You need to find where she is. You must figure out how much money she's gotten from Xavier..." If a child couldn't keep the marriage together, they would have to get more money!
"I...I can't get anything out of her. Honey- Ah!" She started to suggest they sell the house first to avoid delays for Hayden's expenses, but Bobby slapped her before she could finish her sentence.
A clear handprint appeared on her face.
"If she won't tell you, I'll help you..."

About half an hour later, Lily was in the kitchen, making pasta, when her phone rang again. It was Hazel calling
Whenever she called, it was never for anything good.
Lily stared at her phone screen, conflicted about whether or not to answer. But before she could make up her mind, the call dropped off.
She was about to put the phone down when the ringtone sounded again. It was still Hazel.
Taking a deep breath, Lily answered, immediately saying, "Don't try to talk me out of it-"
"Lily, please help me. Your father has kicked me out, and I don't know where I am..." On the other end of the line, Hazel was sobbing and sniffling. Lily paused for a moment. "Why did he kick you out?"
hazel sneezed, and the voice on the other end was a little muddled. "I told him to sell the house first to cater for Hayden's hospital expenses, but he wouldn't listen. He even slapped me.
"Lily, I don't have a penny on me, and it's so cold outside!"
In Goln's deep winter, temperatures could drop to minus four at night. Having been kicked out in such a hurry, Hazel hadn't even put on warm clothes. "Find somewhere warm to stay and send me your location. I'll come pick you up." Lily couldn't bring herself to be too harsh. After all, Hazel was her mother. No matter how wrong things were, she couldn't just stand by and watch Hazel
suffer.
She turned off the stove, changed her clothes, and left, taking a taxi to pick up Hazel
Hazel had been kicked out of the villa and had walked a long way with nowhere to shelter from the cold. Lily was wearing a crystal fleece nightgown, huddling under a bare tree when she found her. Her lips
purple, her face pale, and her fingers were numb from the cold.
"Miss, what happened to her?" the driver asked, unable to help himself. "Should we call the police or take her to the hospital?"
"Please send us to the hospital." Lily took off her down jacket and draped it over Hazel
She tightly held Hazel's hand, placing it by her mouth to warm it with her breath. "Mom, can you hear me?"
Hazel's body was stiff, like a piece of wood, and Lily's heart sank. Her eyes moved slightly, and she looked at Lily.
"Cold..
I'm cold
"Sir, please hurry!" Lily became even more anxious. "Take us to the hospital!"
