Her Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1273

In Eviette Robins lounge, restlessness consumed her. Her assistant, Shannon, handed her a cup of calming tea and said, “Miss Robins, Veronica Murphy’s situation has nothing to do with you. Don’t dwell on it too much.”

Although Shannon’s words were meant to be comforting, they unintentionally struck a nerve with Eviette Robins. She turned around and glared angrily, saying, “Leave!”

Taken aback by her sudden outburst, Shannon pouted in grievance and left the lounge. Just as Shannon left, Melvin Winson walked in.

“Why are you here? Wasn’t it Camden Sullivan who fell ill?” Eviette Robins asked. That fool took some medicine and is sleeping. It’s not a big deal,” Melvin Winson replied dismissively.

A few hours ago, Camden Sullivan jumped into the water to save Veronica Murphy. However, he not only failed to find her, but he also ended up with a high fever himself. It was a perplexing act, and many people found it puzzling.

“Oh, Eviette Robins absentmindedly responded, sitting silently on the couch without saying a word.

Melvin Winson gave her a meaningful glance, sitting sideways on the armrest of the couch with his right leg crossed over his left. He held a cigarette between his fingers and took a deep drag without speaking. The two of them remained silent in the lounge. After a while, he finally spoke, “You went too far today.”

Eviette Robins pursed her lips lightly. “I… I just arranged for someone to teach Veronica Murphy a lesson. I didn’t expect things to escalate to this extent.”

She truly hadn’t anticipated the situation to become so serious. Melvin Winson put the cigarette in his mouth, holding it at an angle. “Even though Miguel divorced Veronica Murphy, she is still the mother of his two children. If Miguel finds out it was you, do you think you have a future with him?”

His words were precisely what Eviette Robins was most worried about. With a normal person’s mindset, even if a man loves a woman deeply, he would not marry the person who killed the mother of his own children.

Eviette Robins shook her head numbly. She swallowed a gulp of saliva and forcefully maintained her composure as she took a white cigarette from the table, delicately pinching the bead on the cigarette butt with her slender jade- like fingers. She then placed the cigarette between her red lips, lit it, and took a puff.

The cigarette ember flickered intermittently as she exhaled a wisp of smoke. The hazy smoke veiled her exquisite face, concealing the slight panic in her expression.

“I didn’t call you here to talk about this.”

Eviette Robins hung her head in frustration, her eyes lifeless as she stared ahead. “I’ve already taken care of it, but Matt is not an ordinary person. Once he investigates, he will inevitably uncover the truth. I can’t hide this from Ben.”

If it were anyone else, Eviette Robins might not be worried about Ben. But Matthew Kings was different. He was born perceptive, with astonishing insight and extraordinary analytical abilities. Eviette Robins had witnessed it all firsthand..

“To adapt to the ever-changing circumstances.”

Melvin Winson sensed that Eviette Robins was not in a good mood and let out a sigh, walking over to her and gently rubbing her head. “Don’t worry, I’m here.”

How could he allow the woman he loved to be sad?

With a heavy heart, Eviette Robins leaned her head on Melvin Winson’s shoulder, whispering, “Have I ever told you how I met Matt?”

“No.”

Melvin Winson leaned back on the couch, propping his feet up on the coffee table. “Tell me.”

He had previously asked Eviette Robins how she met Matthew Kings and why she fell in love with him, but he never received any answers.

Unwilling to accept this, he tried to investigate. Surprisingly, no matter how hard Melvin Winson tried, he couldn’t find any information about Eviette Robins and Matthew Kings’ past.
