Chapter 1171

Chapter 1171 A Hundred-Year Storm

The business sector of Lilyrose finally saw some improvement after taking down the top three families.

Kaze did not want rumors that could spread like cancer to affect the hard-earned improvement. He did not want anyone to use the opportunity to spread false information or misleading news to cause panic among the people and other companies.

"Kaze, aren't you a little too demanding?" Samson scoffed out of anger.

He did not know what Kaze was trying to do. He simply assumed Kaze was like him, being greedy and wanting to take more for himself, hence acquiring the private hospitals.

He glanced at the seven heads of departments behind Kaze and scoffed. "Tell me, is this your own idea or the idea of the people behind you?"

Samson might have underestimated Kaze multiple times, but he still believed that shutting down Victoria International Hospital was too much of an undertaking for him to complete alone.

There must be someone powerful supporting him, using the conflict between them and making Kaze the bullet.

Kaze did not even bother to explain. He said casually, "You can think whatever you like. I already told you how things were and it's up to you whether you believe it or not."

He ignored Samson, whose face was gloomy, and hung up the phone.

"Shut the place down."

He signaled Morgan and his men before he left the hospital.

Soon, Victoria International Hospital was shut down.

Some administrators and executives with suspicious backgrounds were taken away for investigations.

Problems were caused by humans.

If Kaze wanted to shut down Victoria International Hospital, he would have to deal with the vermin that poisoned the establishment as well.

As for the regular employees, they were sent home for the time being, but Kaze promised them the hospital would reopen soon under a new banner and it would not affect their jobs.

After he became the acting mayor, Kaze had to be more considerate to the people.

He could not just do whatever he liked without considering the consequences.

Lee Investment's director's office.

Samson was standing in front of the window. He put his phone down as his expression turned grim.

In just a short while, he thought of many things.

If Kaze had been able to gather seven heads of different departments to shut down the hospital, then the person behind him might have been a powerful government officer.

"Could it be the new mayor? Is he trying to reshuffle the distribution of power of the private hospitals in Lilyrose? If so, why didn't he contact me and talk to me directly? He released Leigh on my request...

With a depressed mood, Samson called Caleb and asked for a direct meeting with the new mayor.

However, he was given a disappointing answer.

Caleb told him that the new mayor refused to see him. As for the reshuffling of the distribution of power of the

private hospitals in Lilyrose, they did have such thoughts.

The new mayor even wanted Caleb to inform him that his time was running out.

*The new mayor does have a temper. He really thinks I'm going to sit back and do nothing? We'll see who is more powerful..

As soon as the call ended, Samson released a villainous laugh.

As a titan in the investment world, he had his own pride to maintain.

Even though he was up against the new and mysterious mayor, who was rumored to come from a powerful and wealthy family, he refused to concede without putting up a fight.

Rumble!

A clap of thunder exploded in the sky, followed by a storm.

The city was drenched instantly and shrouded in a gloomy mood.

Knocks came from the door when his assistant came in with an update.

"Sir, we just received news from the local weather forecast that the city is experiencing a rare storm. With the city's aging sewer system starting to falter, there's a high chance of a city-wide flood."
